Appearance

Garou is a young man of medium height with sharp features and white hair standing up in two elongated spikes. Despite his apparent thinness he is shown to possess a muscular body. He wears a tight-fitting black shirt and loose white pants, similar to his former teacher Bang, with a yellow belt wrapped around his waist. As Garou fights during the Monster Association Arc, his appearance gradually becomes more monstrous. After being kicked by Saitama, he takes off his shirt and wraps his upper body in bandages while he recovers. Later when fighting Genos, his right eye turns red and bloodshot, and his hair also turns red after rubbing his own blood on it. After recovering, he wears a tight black long-sleeved shirt and loose pants of the same color provided by the Monster Association. After his battle against Royal Ripper, he retains a large diagonal scar on his face. His clothes are torn and two strands of cloth flow behind him like scarves due to his encounter with Overgrown Rover, and after being defeated by Orochi, his entire body is covered in soot. The soot shatters as Garou blocks Superalloy Darkshine's Superalloy Bazooka, and the force of the attack also tears his remaining clothing in a spiral pattern around the hole Orochi left in his torso.

After his fight with Darkshine and the subsequent destruction of the Monster Association's base, Garou begins to transform, with his hands turning into claws, his teeth turning into fangs, and his skin hardening. When Garou finally emerges from the rubble, he takes on a monstrous appearance, with skin and hair hardened like armor, sharp claws and teeth, and prominent veins running through his body. Post-fight against Bang, Garou's left eye armor breaks as a result of his former master's final blow, exposing his left eye.[9] As Garou's monstrification progresses through several other battles, his protruding veins become more noticeable, while his muscle mass appears to increase slightly. Later, when Saitama hits him during their battle, Garou's body, in response to his anger, undergoes a transformation that greatly increases his size and stature. His jaw becomes sharper, his mouth becomes more pronounced and full of sharp teeth.[10] The spikes on his body lengthen and multiply, and his overall appearance becomes much more monstrous and intimidating than before. Shortly after, when he attempts to catch up with Saitama, Garou turns into an even more demonic form that grows even larger, with a pair of wings on his back and long horns on his head.[11] After his monstrous form was completely destroyed by a blow from Saitama and the subsequent influence of God, Garou transforms once again, regaining the same form with which he emerged to the surface but with a dark and empty appearance without face, this being replaced along with his entire body by the representation of space itself with stars, galaxies and nebulas inside.

After the end of the confrontation against the Monster Association and his final defeat against Saitama, Garou returns to his original appearance for a time, until changing his iconic spiky hairstyle for a much shorter one, although always retaining the scar made by Royal Ripper. in the face. In the webcomic, when Garou emerges from the underground, the sides of his hair transform into horns and his clothing has apparently fused with his body. After the start of his fight with Golden Sperm, his face hardens and mutates to match the rest of his body. Halfway through his fight with Saitama, Garou transforms again, becoming larger and bulkier with spikes growing out of his back. His new form then changes again, growing even larger and gaining a pair of wings. After Saitama breaks his monster form, Garou emerges from the shell with his previous appearance, but with shorter hair.

Personality

Garou is presented as an evil character with hatred towards heroes and has a confident and vengeful characterization. He hates being insulted and will attack anyone who offends him. He thinks highly of himself and uses that statement to threaten high-ranking personnel such as heroes and the Sitch. He will also attack low-ranking heroes and Hero Association staff if he finds them. Garou hates the popular, as he believes that the popular will always win in the end. This is because as a child, he had no friends and the popular kids at school enjoyed abusing him, both physically and verbally, particularly a boy named Tacchan. They forced him to play Heroes, where Tacchan ("Justice Man") would beat up Garou ("the monster"). Garou noticed how everyone liked Tacchan, but hated him. After watching his life repeat itself over and over again in the television show Justice Man, he developed a distaste for heroes in general and believed that in the end, most will always want him ("the monster") to die. Although Garou is a villain and is considered evil by most, he possesses a certain sense of morality as he fights with heroes in a way that defeats them without killing them, even though he does not appear to have a problem with other individuals killing them. . He has a weak spot with children, as shown when he chats with Tareo in the park, or when he stops fighting Metal Bat after Zenko appears, whom he protects from Sludge Jellyfish (in his attempt to kidnap her). . When Tareo calls him "sir" after Garou told him not to, he does not get angry at the boy. Later, he rescues and protects the boy from the Monster Association, even risking his own life to do so.

In some ways, Garou can be considered a counterpart to Saitama. Both have their own strong sense of honor and justice, although they manifest themselves in different ways. While Saitama wanted to be like a childhood hero who fought villains, Garou wants to be a monster who defeats heroes. While Garou is a genius fighter and a prodigious martial artist, Saitama is an ordinary person who uses simple fighting techniques. Furthermore, Garou can enjoy the feeling of losing to improve himself and thus become stronger, unlike Saitama who wishes to find a worthy opponent to rekindle the excitement he once had when he trained. In battle, Garou is extremely arrogant, often mocking his opponents and calling them "newbies". He mocked Death Gatling and the group of A-Class and B-Class heroes, considering them all pathetically weak and, despite their clever idea of grouping together, they were nothing compared to the S-Class. Despite this, he gives credit to his opponents, as seen when he commented on Glasses' stamina throughout their battle. He is also very observant before and during battle, always preparing to combat his opponent and never fighting without prior knowledge. An example of this is the moment when the group of heroes from Class-A and B arrive to take him to the Hero Association. When he sees them, he asks Tareo to lend him the Hero Association book with all the heroes listed along with their weapons, ranks, and abilities. Garou uses this to ensure that he avoids attacks that would cause great damage to him, as was the case with Shooter's poison arrows.

Garou considers true evil to be completely impartial and does not care whether his opponent is a hero or a kaijin, he will always be prepared to fight anyone who stands in his way and will use them as a means to become stronger than before. Even though he has left the dojo, Garou deep down still cares about his former teacher Bang of him. An example of this is that after transforming into a kaijin, he had a dream in which he fought against Bang and with his words he was able to wake up from his drowsy state. Also when he saved his life by assassinating an Ugly Fuhrer who tried to kill him. Garou intends to change the world through "absolute evil." He considers justice to be partial and unfair, seeing it as people doing bad things to others they consider "evil" and receiving praise for it, while absolute evil is impartial and fair, affecting everyone the same way. Garou wants to become the dream kaijin that everyone fears so that they are forced to band together against him to survive. By doing so, he aims to end conflicts and wars and achieve world peace.[13] After receiving the power of God, Garou delights in the divine energy that flows throughout his body. He becomes even more determined to use this new power to defeat Saitama and prove that he is the "symbol of fear" that will change the world. Despite claiming that he managed to retain his own will and did not fall under the complete control of God, both Bang and Blast have noted that Garou's mind has undoubtedly been affected by the mysterious entity's influence, as he became noticeably more cruel and sadistic than before.

When Blast mentions that the effects of his radiation could wipe out all life on the planet, Garou shows no remorse, instead admitting to being pleased that his mere presence means death and eager to see how it would change the planet. human race under its absolute evil.[14] Furthermore, although he never killed any heroes during his hunt, he decided to kill Genos to anger Saitama and force him to fight with all his might.[15] When Saitama arrives, Garou even mocks his late presence and throws the cyborg core at him as an act of provocation. However, following his defeat against Saitama and realizing that he had unintentionally killed Tareo, regaining consciousness, Garou lamented his weak spirit at having been influenced by God while becoming discouraged at how it could never be to be "absolute evil." " and how he had accidentally taken the life of the boy he always wanted to save by first changing the world. Despite this discouragement, Garou would soon find a way to fix things by teaching Saitama a way to go back in time and stop him in the past. Even though God took his life and powers from him while he was helping Saitama, Garou had absolute confidence that the Cloaked Bald Man would be able to change the "sinister future" that had happened because of him.

Skills/Powers

Garou was once Bang's best disciple, although he was expelled from the dojo after brutally beating the other students. Despite being expelled by Bang, Garou begins his own personal training and becomes incredibly powerful. Equipped with a powerful array of abilities and physical attributes, Garou is capable of fighting on par with many S-Class heroes. At the end of his hero hunt, Garou defeated over 100 heroes. Garou possesses a strong aura of danger surrounding him, which can cause his opponents to lose confidence in themselves. He is able to overpower almost the entire Tank Topper Army single-handedly. This includes Tanktop Vegetarian, a former A-Class hero, and his leader Tanktop Master, an S-Class hero and one of the physically strongest men in the world. Garou is also able to fight the S-Class hero, Metal Bat, and compares him to an amateur fighter. However, Garou admits that if any of Metal Bat's blows had connected, he would have lost instantly. Garou was trained to fight humans by his former master, Bang. As a result, his fighting style becomes much less effective against bestial tactics. This is shown when he is easily overwhelmed by Watchdog Man. Additionally, Superalloy Darkshine described fighting Garou as being like "being cornered by dozens of martial artists at once", even though Darkshine was a reputable combatant, who was said to be one of the best among heroes and He was on par with Bang.

Physical Skills

Immense Strength: Garou's strength is superhuman and is on par with the S-Class heroes. He is able to rip off Blue Fire's arm without too much difficulty. Using one arm, he can throw a manhole cover at high speed. He can seriously injure Tanktop Master with a bombardment. He is shown easily breaking Heavy Tank Fundoshi's arm and knocking out several A-Class heroes with one hit each. He is also capable of punching holes through Greater Centipede, an Ogre threat level monster (webcomic only). Even in his weakened state, he defeats all A- and B-Class heroes with a short barrage of blows or a single blow. Immense Speed and Reflexes: Garou can quickly dodge a large number of Golden Ball bullets from multiple directions. He can also dodge hits from Metal Bat. However, he admits that he would lose to Flashy Flash's speed. Even in his weakened state, he was still fast enough to surpass the group of Class A and B heroes. Garou later displayed speed to the point of being able to dodge and block Orochi's extremely fast attacks, while the monsters watching They died in an instant without realizing what hit them.

Immense Durability: Garou also possesses inhuman durability. He can withstand multiple attacks from Tanktop Master and remain standing. He even survives an all-out assault by three Demon-level monsters: Royal Ripper, Bug God, and Greater Centipede (webcomic only). Even when he was severely weakened by Saitama and Watchdog Man's combined attacks, he was still able to fight off the group of Class A and B heroes and withstand the pain. Even Shooter's poisoned arrows and Gun Gun's bullet hole didn't slow him down, as Glasses noticed. His durability also increases exponentially as he evolves, during his fight with Orochi, Gyoro Gyoro watches and comments on how Garou is able to withstand Orochi's fire breathing attacks and punches like it's no big deal.

Immense Stamina: Garou possesses an inhuman tolerance to pain. He is able to continue fighting after suffering injuries that normally incapacitate normal people, such as a beating from Tanktop Master. He didn't flinch when Spring Mustache's sword stabbed his hand. Furthermore, after being weakened by multiple fights the previous day and suffering from fever, he managed to continue fighting multiple heroes at once and actually defeated them all using clever tactics and enduring all the continuous pain. Even when he was beaten to death by Bang and Bomb, possibly the two most powerful martial artists on the planet, drifting in and out of consciousness, and losing feeling in his arms, he was still able to persevere and create tremors in the ground, uproot a tree, and spin it at incredible speeds, to the complete shock of Bang and Bomb. Additionally, Garou showed little to no pain when he was electrocuted by power lines, demonstrating a high resistance to electricity. Later in his fight with Orochi, his body is pierced by one of Orochi's horns and Garou is able to continue fighting Orochi, despite the visible hole in his torso and being brutally beaten by Orochi several times. Garou's stamina then evolves to the point that he can withstand energy attacks from Overgrown Rover and Orochi in sequence with no time to rest.

Enhanced Senses: Garou is able to effortlessly sense the trajectory of Golden Ball's Golden Breakout bullets, even in the dark. He can predict the movements of Metal Bat's Savage Tornado attack. He is also able to sense that people are watching him, as he notices that he is being watched by two monsters despite being engaged in battle against Metal Bat at the time. Furthermore, he dodged Chain'n'toad's Ear Cutter, even though it came from a blind spot, just by instinct. It is also shown that his senses are sharp enough to allow him to deflect a barrage of shots from a Gatling gun seamlessly, without letting a single shot hit him.

Exponential Evolution: Garou's main attribute; In his first appearance at the Hero Association headquarters, the human monster admits that the S-Class heroes would be too much for him. Shortly after, however, he is able to fight and defeat the same S-Class heroes, such as Tanktop Master, in physical combat. This ability is also shown to work in the middle of combat, as seen when he was about to be defeated by Bang and Bomb, but he was able to turn things around quickly despite his extreme injuries and his exhaustion. Enhanced Adaptability: As a result of his increased growth rate, Garou displays notable adaptability in battle. Although his eyes were initially unable to track the Golden Ball projectiles in the dark alley where they fought, Garou's eyesight quickly adapted to the point where he could deal with a barrage of ricocheting projectiles and deflect them with ease. Accelerated Healing: Garou possesses an advanced healing factor, which explains why he was able to survive fights with fearsome monsters and powerful heroes despite being terribly injured. It is unknown how he obtained this ability, but it is possible that it was derived from his evolution. His healing is shown again after the fight with Overgrown Rover, in which his body recovers from Orochi's energy blasts and piercing attacks. Furthermore, he was able to continue fighting as if nothing had happened against Superalloy Darkshine after he shattered his ribs with a blow.

Fighting Style

Expert Combatant: Garou is an extremely skilled fighter, adapting to combat and using the advantage of his opponent's weak points to gain the advantage in fights. His learning ability (超学習能力, Chō Gakushū Nōryoku) allows him to learn countermeasures to other people's fighting styles, while making his own fighting styles his own. He displays this ability against Tanktop Master, where he attacks his weak points and quickly turns the tables. He also displays this unique ability in his fight with Metal Bat, where he comments that Metal Bat's attacks become predictable and weird. While fighting against his opponents, Garou gains access to his fighting styles and techniques simply by witnessing them once. Furthermore, when he fights, Garou looks for vital points and joints so that his opponents lose the ability to defend themselves quickly. Additionally, by analyzing his opponent's line of sight, posture, muscle tension, breathing, energy, movement patterns, and center of gravity, he can almost perfectly predict his opponent's next move. His prediction accuracy only improves as Garou gets stronger.

Garou Techniques

* Flowing Water Rock Crushing Fist: A martial art that Garou learned from his former master, Bang. It is composed of a series of extremely fast and powerful strikes that can incapacitate an S-Class hero like Tanktop Master. Garou avoids using this style if possible, because it reminds him of Bang. The martial art can repel his opponents' attacks, nullify them, or redirect them with double the power. Additionally, in a crisis, the martial art can move the body on its own. Known Techniques: * Breathing Awakening: Garou removes all restrictions that had been placed on his mind. When removed, they increase Garou's mobility, agility, and maneuverability. He uses it during the battle against Death Gatling's group and later against Orochi.

*Steel Whirlwind Fist: A martial art that Garou copied from Bomb. This martial art style involves a powerful hand movement technique to create a sharp whirlwind pressure that cuts the opponent into small pieces. The martial art then pushes the opponent back with varying degrees of force depending on the proximity to the eye of the whirlwind. The cutting pressure is also used in martial arts kicks and is sharp enough to cut stone. Garou first uses it against Royal Ripper. Known Techniques: * Military Martial Arts: Based on the Rock Crushing Flowing Water Fist, this fighting style evolves freely during combat. First used against Heavy Tank Fundoshi. Watchdog Man's Moves: During his fight with Genos, Garou was shown to have been able to mimic Watchdog Man's animal-like movement, using it to catch Genos off guard and rip off his right arm. * Tanktop Punch: Copied from Tanktop Master. Garou unbalances and distracts his opponent by slamming the ground with tremendous force after spinning to build up momentum. He first uses it against Bang and Bomb, then against Flashy Flash. *Tiger Fang True Fist: A martial art that Garou learned during battle. It has not been shown yet. * Fire Dance Bullet Path Fist: A martial art that Garou learned during battle. It has not been shown yet.

"Purgatory Abyss Fist" (空虚深淵拳, Kūkyo Shin'en-ken): A martial art that Garou learned during battle. It hasn't been shown yet. "Lake Breaking Ice River Fist" (湖割氷河拳, Mizūmi Wari Hyōga-ken): A martial art that Garou learned during the battle. It hasn't been shown yet. "Fools' Way Mountain Range Fist" (愚道山脈拳, Gudō Sanmyaku-ken): A martial art that Garou learned during battle. It hasn't been shown yet. "Ultimate Fist of the Yatagarasu" (八咫烏極拳, Yatagarasu Kyoku-ken): A martial art that Garou learned during battle. It hasn't been shown yet. "Pressure Point Killing Fist" (圧迫面殺拳, Appaku-men Ya-ken): A martial art that Garou learned during battle. It hasn't been shown yet. "Lone Fist of Prosperity" (引弧隆盛拳, Hikuko Takamori-ken): A martial art that Garou learned during battle. It hasn't been shown yet.

Dual use of martial arts: After fighting multiple heroes and due to his immense training, Garou is able to utilize two martial arts styles simultaneously, such as the Crushing Rock Flowing Water Fist and the Slashing Steel Whirlpool Fist, seen during his fight against Orochi and Superalloy Darkshine. * Whirlwind Current - Dragon Fang Lethal Fists: A combination of the Bang and Bomb martial arts. This technique can usually only be achieved with two users, but Garou manages to reach a degree of mastery that allows him to use the combination without needing a second person. He first uses it against Darkshine. * Swirling Water Fist - Sky Qi Roaring Fist: A powerful technique that combines the Flowing Water Rock Crushing Fist and the Swirling Steel Cutting Fist. Normally, it requires two users to utilize this technique, but Garou manages to reach a degree of mastery that allows him to use the combination without needing a second person. Upon connecting, even with a single punch, the shockwaves will rip through the victim's body, subsequently breaking their bones into pieces and incapacitating them. When he uses it against Bang, despite only grazing him, the shockwave was powerful enough to shatter his body and defeat him.

Miscellaneous Skills

Unbreakable Will: One of Garou's defining traits and a factor that allows Garou to continue fighting, even when on the brink of death, is his strong willpower. This will is evident in several battles between S-Class heroes, such as during the battle between Garou vs. Bang and Bomb. Poison Resistance: Garou displays a resistance against poisoning as seen when he was hit with two poisoned arrows that would ordinarily have rendered him unconscious within minutes. Instead of succumbing, he continued fighting the team of heroes facing him, and then continued fighting Genos, Bomb, and Bang in quick succession without showing any significant signs of being hindered by the poison in his system. Massive Appetite: Garou is shown to have a massive appetite, as he can gorge on an entire list of items on a restaurant's menu, more than likely to replenish himself. Despite his toned body and slim physique, he is able to eat large cuts of meat and even swallow an entire jug of water in one gulp showing his improved metabolism. Hardened Teeth: Garou's teeth are shown to be tough enough that when he spits his broken tooth onto the concrete floor, it makes a large hole in the surface. Carnivorous Consumption: Garou can consume the flesh of monsters to restore his energy and vitality without any negative effects.

Transformation of "Monster"

After being pushed to his limits in a series of fights against a team of A-Class and B-Class heroes, followed by Genos, Bang, and Bomb, Garou begins to evolve. Later, after nearly dying in his fight with Royal Ripper and Bug God, his power increases explosively and his clothes fuse with his body, causing him to slowly transform until only his face is visible. he remains intact. As a result of being pushed to the brink of death and overcoming it, his limiter begins to break and Gyoro Gyoro identifies him as a "Half Monster". His senses and abilities are heightened so that even while he is asleep, he is still extremely dangerous and capable of fighting enemies. Although he admits that he doesn't enjoy fighting like that, he was strong enough to easily defeat the Pretty-Pretty Prisoner. Garou was able to fight well against Superalloy Darkshine, although he suffered extensive injuries from his attacks. As their battle progresses, Garou's abilities increase to the point that he can match Darkshine's powerful Superalloy Bazooka with his own fist without any difficulty or damage. By the time he defeats Superalloy Darkshine, she notices that his limiter is breaking, and then feels that his "spirit" has been released from his body. He proclaims himself as the first God-level disaster threat, and the one who will fulfill Shibabawa's sinister prophecy.

* Calamity Monster God-Slaying Fist: Garou's personal fighting style. Garou combines the other fighting styles he has learned throughout his many battles, creating a unique fighting style. He claims to possess no weak points and to be "God-Disaster Level." Utilizing the Calamity Monster God-Slaying Fist for the first time, Garou is able to take down both the S-Class hero Flashy Flash and Platinum Sperm (the fusion of the Dragon-level monsters Black Sperm and Golden Sperm) in combat. Garou "Monster" Known Techniques: * Godslayer Instant Attack: Garou unleashes a volley of rapid punches with both hands. * Godslayer Rising Strike: Garou delivers a powerful upward strike with one of his arms and a kick. * Breath Awakening: A technique that relies on the very limits of the body. When these are removed, the user's mobility, agility, and maneuverability are increased. Other Techniques: * Great Fa Jin: A powerful attack that allows Garou to attack and damage an opponent's internal organs, incapacitating them. When using this technique, with both hands seemingly glowing, Garou strikes the opponent's abdomen with open palms, creating strong shockwaves that pulverize whatever is behind the victim as a side effect. * Extreme Fa Jin: This attack is a more powerful version of the Great Fa Jin. Garou places both hands on the opponent and proceeds to push them into the ground. The attack is very strong, being able to generate intense shock waves powerful enough to pierce through the Earth's core and lift a large mass of land to the other side of the planet, while distorting the magnetic and gravitational fields.

Influence of God

* Awakened Garou - Cosmic Terror Mode: This is the form Garou takes after receiving God powers. His appearance is that of a featureless void filled with stars and galaxies. His silhouette is reminiscent of how he looked after his fight with Superalloy Darkshine. According to Blast, Garou was able to avoid a full impartation of God power, meaning that he could have become more powerful had he allowed himself to be fully imparted. Despite this, his already incredible power reaches even more absurd levels while in this form, able to combat incredibly powerful fighters such as the S-Class rank 1 hero Blast, and even Saitama. Although he was unable to defeat Saitama in this powerful transformation, Garou was able to force the invincible hero to exert himself further for an extended period of time and further increase his strength in order to defeat him, making him by far the most powerful opponent Saitama has ever faced, despite the fact that Saitama was fighting Garou single-handed and did not want to kill him. Following his defeat, Garou is no longer able to access this cosmic transformation due to all of his "divine power" having faded away.

* Life-Eradicating Fist: The martial art created and used by Awakened Garou: Cosmic Terror Mode after receiving the powers of God. Having learned the knowledge of energy flow through Bang's teachings, as well as the behavior of the forces of the cosmos, Garou's new power allows him to utilize the natural energy flow of the universe along with his channeling of internal force, gaining the ability to simulate natural phenomena through sheer physical ability. Known Techniques: * Nuclear Fission: Garou uses his energy manipulation combined with his punches to generate nuclear explosions. These are so powerful that they can be detected by nuclear detection tools. Psykos refers to the explosions as "divine power", comparing them to the Homeless Emperor's energy spheres. * Nuclear Fission: Gravitational Knuckles: A powerful attack that utilizes two powers at once. After copying Blast's Gravitational Knuckles and combining it with his own Nuclear Fission, Garou unleashes a flurry of punches, with his right hand housing the power of gravity while his left hand holds the power of nuclear fission. * Gamma Ray Burst: Garou manipulates energy to generate a gamma ray burst. The area around him becomes a miniature singularity and releases two parallel beams of energy in any direction. This attack is powerful enough that Saitama thinks it would be serious if it just grazed the Earth.
