Koro-sensei

Koro-sensei is the teacher of class 3-E at Kunugigaoka High School and the main character and antihero of the series Assassination Classroom (Ansatsu Kyōshitsu). His name Koro-sensei means "Invincible Teacher" or "Unkillable."

appearance

It is a mainly yellow being, in its normal form it has 10 tentacles below and 4 above. The lower tentacles help it stay upright while with the upper ones it manipulates and plays with the environment. On the upper part of his body he has a huge spherical head with a mouth that shows a permanent smile in addition to a pair of "little eyes" that complete his face. The yellow skin that covers it has the ability to change color depending on the emotional state in which it is found. He wears an academic teacher's outfit consisting of a red tunic over a white shirt, both covered by a black cape decorated with purple lines on its sleeves, an orange ribbon that surrounds his shoulders, and a small tie on his neck decorated with a crescent moon.

Etymology

His name, "Koro-sensei" is a combination of the words 殺せない (korosenai) which means “Unkillable" and the word 先生 (sensei), which means teacher or master. This nickname was given to him by Kaede Kayano

History

He was born in one of the most vile and corrupt neighborhoods of an unknown country, in an environment where he could only trust himself. Through these difficulties, he decided to be an assassin, becoming the best assassin, known as Shinigami (死神 God of Death). With his talent he left a trail of death wherever he went. All this began to change after murdering a rich businessman. This man's son witnessed it and, in love with the beauty of the murder, asked the Shinigami to train him as his apprentice. He taught him everything he knew, and after several successful jobs, the apprentice ended up betraying his teacher and taking the title of Shinigami. After being betrayed, the Shinigami was captured and locked up in a research laboratory run by Kotaro Yanagisawa (Shiro), whose objective was to create antimatter within the cells of organisms and living beings. In this research laboratory he met Aguri Yukimura, a professor who was at the time in an abusive arranged marriage to Kotaro Yanagisawa. As the tests continued, the Shinigami began to have greater trust with her, becoming interested in her work as her teacher and learning during this time what compassion was from her. However, a problem arose when Yanagisawa and his researchers began to question what would happen to Koro-sensei's antimatter cells when he died. To answer this question, Yanagisawa and his team launched a small automated laboratory on the moon to safely test the possibility of what would happen if a subject with Koro-sensei's antimatter cells were to die (in this case , a little rat). When the rat died at the end of its lifespan it caused a volatile reaction. However, during her escape Aguri was mortally wounded when she crossed the line of fire of a special gun while trying to restore the Shinigami's sanity. She then laments the fact that if she hadn't lost her ability to kill, he would know how to save her. Aguri's last wish was to want to teach the students of class E one last time. In the end, the Shinigami who would later become Koro-sensei decided to fulfill that last wish. With this, she also left a big tie as a gift for him. Depressed, but not broken, the Shinigami vowed to help those boys. He left a note then left the facility on a nearby mountain.
