Ace is a man of honor. With an easy decision to make: dishonor or death, he will choose death. He has the intimidating nickname "Fire Fist," but he is polite and smart with his friends. Ace considers friendship sacred and will never betray. To him, the worst thing is betrayal. With his enemies, he is cold-blooded and ruthless. Ace can't live a quiet life and craves adventure, but he also has a love of food and alcohol in his life. He recovers quickly and can fall asleep over a meal. Ace doesn't avoid noisy companies, but he doesn't seek them out either. He is always happy and believes his path is the right one.

The pirate's way

At the age of 17, Ace left the Corvo Mountains and became the captain of the Peak Pirates. A year later, he showed his team "Jolly Roger" and received the devil's fruit Mera Mera no mi. Ace refused the invitation to Shichibukai and arranged a meeting with Shanks after hearing about him from Luffy. While searching for WhiteBeard, he met Jimbei, who, knowing about Ace's strength, decided to fight him to distance himself from WhiteBeard. After five days of fighting, they both collapsed from exhaustion. WhiteBeard, having learned about Ace's intentions, arrived with the team. Ace stood up for his team and, protesting against violence, stopped WhiteBeard behind a wall of flames. On the verge of death, Ace was invited to join Belous' team, but refused and was ruthlessly transferred to his ship. Ace's team came after him, but was defeated and captured. Later it became known that WhiteBeard decided to take the son of his old rival to make him the next pirate king. Ace, having regained consciousness, was recognized as a member of WhiteBeard's team and, to protect the team, remained on his ship, despite attempts to overthrow WhiteBeard. As a result, he resigned himself and accepted the symbol of WhiteBeard.

The abilities of his powers are from the devil's fruit

Ace ate Mera Mera no Mi, a Logia-type Devil Fruit that allowed him to create, control, and transform his body into fire. He could create and release massive amounts of fire to deal large scale damage, as well as use low precision attacks. His flames could also be used in defense, he could create a massive wall of flames to block his opponents, and the heat of his flames could keep his opponents from attacking him for fear of getting burned. Ace mainly used his flames for a wide variety of offenses. He could shoot fire bullets and spears, unleash powerful fire cannons, release massive waves of fire, and create fireballs, both one large one for widespread destruction and many small ones that could explode. His signature attack was to turn his fist into fire and send it forward as it greatly increased in size, earning him the nickname "Fire Fist Ace". Ace also had a practical use for his Devil Fruit abilities; he would heat up any fish he found in the sea for his crew when they had no food, and he could cross the seas in a single-seat boat that was specially designed for him and powered by flames from his feet.

Ace was left in the care of Garp's friend, Dadan. Ace walked all over the city, causing trouble and beating up people who spoke ill of his father Roger. At a certain stage, Ace became friends with Sabo, who was Ace's age at the time. Later, when Garp got tired of Shanks' influence on Luffy, he left his grandson for Dadan. After Luffy's first meeting with Ace, Ace just spat on him. Ace reacted angrily to Luffy by knocking trees down on Luffy. Later, Sabo and Ace find out from Luffy that he doesn't have parents like Ace, and therefore he doesn't want to lose Ace because he doesn't want to be alone. After that, Luffy joined Ace and Sabo, and together they begin to make a name for themselves. Ace, Sabo, and Luffy spar with each other, hunt alligators, and beat up bandits. In the Central City of Goa Kingdom, the trio wanted to have lunch at a shooting gallery, and in the process, they heard a man calling Sabo's name. Returning to the forest, Sabo said that he was born into a noble family and the man who called his name was his father. Despite this, Ace and Luffy still consider Sabo their friend. After that, the trio made a statement about what they want to achieve in the future, they shared sake and became brothers. They still had adventures, they hunted animals.

Parents

Ace's father, Gol D Roger, was the Pirate King. The sentries, upon learning that the Pirate King was going to have a son, began searching for all pregnant women. Ace's mother, Portgas D Rouge, unwilling to put up with the Government's measures and loving her child, carried her son for 20 months. After his parents died, he took custody of Garp, as Roger had asked him to do, and gave him to the Mountain Bandits in the Kingdom of Goa. But when Ace grew up a bit, he began to hate his birth father Gold D Roger from childhood because his reputation as a pirate king was terrible and so he doesn't like to talk about his father. but when he grew up and joined the crew of the Whitebeard Pirates, Ace as well as the rest of the crew began to call their captain named Edward Newgate his father and Ace adult refuses to recognize that his birth father is Goal D Roger, for he has come to think of Edward Newgate as his father.
