He's happy and loud, if a little sardonic. Tendou likes to tease both his teammates and his opponents, usually annoying the latter. However, when he enters the game, he becomes a different, more intimidating person, and enjoys the look of defeat on people's faces when he denies them. He is also very confident in his blocking abilities (referring to a guess block) as his guesses are almost always correct, due to his keen intuition. However, throughout the game, he learns that his assumptions may sometimes not be correct, and Hinata can read them as well. Tendou is also seen by others as quite creepy or strange. He was picked on for this as a child, but becoming a middle blocker seemed to boost his confidence, and now he doesn't seem to mind being perceived this way. After the time skip, he is seen dragging a woman who is walking his dog while he talks to Ushijima on the phone. On another note, he seems kind and generous at times, such as when he asked Ushijima if they could let Hinata sleep in a room during the first-year intensive training camp at Shiratorizawa Academy, or trying to cheer up Goshiki when he started crying. . Tendō also appears to be a good friend, as after time skipping, he even calls Ushijima to check on him, then gives him his own version of words of wisdom when the latter requires a pep talk.
