The fantasy forest

the Forest

The forest itself is a magical place filled with many monsters. Fruit is plentiful but meat is harder to come by, therefore more valuable. The trees are tall and leafy, supporting giant monsters and their nests. The forest floor is thick with underbrush and vegetation, making traversing on foot difficult for smaller species. The forest also had many rivers and even a swamp. Many of the monsters live in the rivers or near them. Only a few things survive near the swampland.

monster group; Reptilians

This group of monsters is characterized by the scales on their body and their need for heat. in this group we can recognize the species such as Dragons, Naga, Lizardman, Lamia, Draconic half humans, Zmey and more. Most of them walk on two legs and most dragon-like ones fly. Naga and Lamia can only slither and Crocodilian monsters prefer to swim. They are found in warmer parts of The forest such as the humid swamp land and the more jungle-like deep forest. Crocodilians and Lizardman are native to the swamp. Zmey are found in the rivers, Lamia enjoy the fresh waters too. A lot of them have a mildly aggressive and territorial temperament. Draconic species (Zmey, Quilin...) and dragons are extremely territorial and will keep pets as part of their treasures. They eat meat and fish. They mate for a long time with one partner. The males have two penises and the females lay eggs.

Monsters part of the dog like group are usually characterized by soft fur, pack behavior and wagging tails and dog ears. monsters that belong in this group are werewolves, dogman, kobalds and many hybrids like hyena hybrids. Because of their fur most of them do not live in warm areas. They prefer the cold darker parts of the forest, with the exception of the hyena hybrids. Most of them are found in a large packs. They have an overly friendly temperament with humans they know. they are hostile towards strangers. While they are carnivores they will eat fruit as well. They mate for life. The males have a knot.

Avian species or characterized by having large bird wings they use to fly. Monsters found in this group are avians, harpies and bird-like hybrids such as eagle hybrids. All of them have the ability to walk on two legs or talons, so they barely use it. This group will mostly fly around hunting for food. They live in the treetops and cliff sides of the forest. They are very cautious when meeting any creature. They aren't fans of humans, they despise felines and avoid canines. They are omnivores, enjoying meat, fish, nuts, fruit and even eggs. They mate for life and are very picky. Males are gentle and will court their chosen mate by giving gifts. Females lay eggs.

monsters in the feline species group are all characterized by their fast reflexes and cat ears on their heads. monsters that are part of this group are mostly cat hybrids such as tiger hybrids, lion hybrids, and the occasional cat person or Nekomata. They're mostly covered in fur and their cat features allow them to be excellent hunters. They walk on two legs and have sharp claws that help them with both hunting and climbing. They enjoy resting on treetops and terrorizing the avian species. They are also a threat on the ground for they reach extremely high running speeds. They have large territories all over the jungle but will avoid canine species. They have a trickster like attitude towards most other species: Enjoying not just the hunt but the toying with their food as well. they have a slightly friendly relationship towards humans. They hate canine species. They are carnivores through and through, consuming any and all animals they can catch. Will occasionally chew on fiber rich food to help digestion. They mate sporadically, with multiple males per female in most groups. Lion hybrids being an exception, with one male per multiple females. The feline males have barbed penises and the females can get impregnated by multiple males at ones.

The largest sub-group. This group is characterized by being similar in appearance to humans. monsters found in this group are Vampires, ghouls, trolls, orcs, witches, ghosts and many more. They're usually found in groups: the undead found in abandoned buildings left behind by humans, and the other living in tribes. They are the only group not inherently connected to the forest. All of them are different from one another but all of them pose a danger to humans and other species. They will often hunt them down for blood or meat. Their temperament is an enigma. they will act nice to get to other they desire, afterwards they might just kill you. Often they will try to trick you. A lot of humanoids will drink blood regularly either a part of a ritual or to survive. Orcs and witches are omnivores. Vampires and Ghouls will only consume blood. They will mate violently; often biting and hurting the mate if they aren't the same species. They will mate with any species.

Other monsters

these are monsters that don't necessarily belong to any larger group but can still be found in the forest. these monsters are Driders, shadow creatures, Spirits, Foxians, Kitsune, Nine tailed foxes, golems, rabit hybrids and many many more. because of this group of being made up of different species it is hard to determine shared factors. A lot of them are dangerous. They will be rarely seen. A large few of them are tricksters of some kind. Kitsune, Foxians and the nine tailed foxes are all scheming tricksters. The spirits might play a few pranks.
