Autobots:Windblade puts truth and duty first, even when both seem impossible. Although this youthful idealism sometimes exasperates her more cynical allies, it is also her greatest strength—her faith in the ability of others to do good has turned enemies to allies and struck fear into the sparks of those who prey upon the insecurities of others. A fundamentally honest 'bot, she struggles with uncomfortable moral choices and forcing her to compromise those principles can leave her withdrawn and depressed. On the battlefield, Windblade is a better-than-average swordwoman and can wield her Stormfall Sword to great effect with her built-in turbines, which generate powerful gusts of wind and scatter foes like leaves in a hurricane. Her most unusual ability, however, might be her Cityspeaker talents, which allow her to communicate with and control Titans. Windblade's natural compassion for these enormous beings is her most potent weapon—let's face it, "the power of friendship" doesn't seem quite so silly when you're using it to rouse a city block-sized battle machine into action.Windblade was a Transformer who hailed from the planet Caminus, born from the hot spot within the Titan who had colonized the planet long ago; as with other Cybertronian colonies, the inhabitants of Caminus, isolated from Cybertron, maintained gender dimorphism, with Windblade being female. A 'Bot and Her City Like many Camiens, Windblade was a devout adherent of the Way of Flame, which venerated the Thirteen Primes as living gods and regarded Solus Prime as the greatest member of this pantheon. The Sum and Its Parts You, Me, and the Universe In her youth, Windblade was friends with Velocity and Nautica, and sometimes discussed science and engineering with the latter, An Axe to Break the Ice and eventually trained to become a cityspeaker, throwing herself into her work even when others told her to hold back. If I Know You Long cut off from Cybertron, Caminus' isolation ended with the arrival of Thunderclash; Windblade, her bodyguard Chromia, and quantum engineer Nautica joined his crew in hopes of reconnecting with their homeworld and gaining aid for their ailing planet. A 'Bot and Her City Secretly, however, Windblade wondered if she'd been chosen for the mission so that Caminus could be rid of her, and swore not to fail at the daunting task ahead of her. If I Know You The Chosen One Days after their joining Thunderclash's crew, his ship, the Vis Vitalis, came across the Autobot sage Alpha Trion, who informed them that his longstanding partner, the Titan Metroplex, was grievously wounded and required help. With Trion unable to help due to a quest that otherwise occupied him, and Thunderclash unwell, Windblade and her friends boarded a fast shuttlecraft and sped to the ocean world of Hydrophena, where Metroplex was currently in hiding as an alchemical virus ravaged his body. After some time, Windblade's group was found by a team of Autobots from the Lost Light, who had been summoned there through complicated means by Metroplex himself. Using their ship's engines, they were able to give Metroplex's spark a jump-start, giving him the strength to space bridge back to Cybertron, where a battle between its inhabitants and the Necrotitan was taking place. Burning Bright Though surprised by the sight of another Titan, Windblade and the other Autobots refused to abandon Metroplex's body; presently, Megatron returned Metroplex's severed thumb, laden with the transmutative Ore-7, to him, healing him allowing him to defeat the Necrotitan. Finis Temporis Following the battle, Windblade asked Metroplex about the ore's origins, and he explained that he had picked it up during his travels and jettisoned it when he was attacked by Ammonites. Windblade related her findings to Ultra Magnus, but was unable to coax any information out of Metroplex that would help Magnus and the rest of the Lost Light crew in their search for the Knights of Cybertron. The Becoming Not long afterwards, Ammonites began to swarm Cybertron, forcing Magnus to radio Windblade to ask Metroplex for aid. Autobots:The Autobots are one of the primary factions in the Transformers mythos. They usually find themselves defending both their own race and other species against the Decepticons and upholding justice and freedom throughout the galaxy. They are considered "the good guys" in most, but not in all Transformers stories. A generally heroic, honorable group, they tend to be dedicated to peace, and feel a need to protect other races from the Decepticons. As a result, they are usually Transformers who change into non-combat oriented alternate modes such as domestic vehicles, cars, trucks, or rescue vehicles. This is not always the case, however, as their ranks certainly contain ne'er-do-wells, malcontents, and unsavory types, and the necessities of war have led many to adopt more combat-oriented alternate forms. While the Autobots have usually found themselves outnumbered by the Decepticons, the Autobots have always had home-field advantage, having not only the humans' military support, but also having more places on Earth to fall back on, while the Decepticons are entirely unwelcome on Earth. Key concepts that repeat throughout most continuities are the use of the name Prime (or a variation thereof) to denote Autobot leadership, and the existence of an artifact of great life-giving power, usually referred to as a "Matrix", traditionally held by their leader.
