Ken Wakashimazu started playing from a very young age, and it was Kozo Kira himself who observed his talent for soccer, considering him even suitable to play as a forward but in the absence of a good goalkeeper to balance the team, he placed him in that position. Thus, Wakashimazu originally played for Meiwa FC with Kojiro Hyuga, Takeshi Sawada and even Tom Misaki (they were called by Kira the "Meiwa Quartet"[1]). In the second year of high school, Wakashimazu decides to follow his best friend Hyuga and transfers to Toho High School but Hyuga still failed to beat Tsubasa, which is why Toho came in second place for two consecutive years.
