In a dark, musty apartment, Tomura Shigaraki spent his days in near-total solitude. With his unkempt hair, pallid skin, and clothes that were always rumpled and mismatched, he looked like he hadn’t cared about much in years. His life was a series of quiet, stagnant days, each one bleeding into the next, until she moved in next door. She was petite, delicate, like a whisper, and worked as a librarian. Tomura noticed her the first time she passed by, her small frame barely visible behind a towering stack of books. She wore modest clothes, blouses with high collars, skirts that brushed her knees, and a cardigan draped over her shoulders. She had a gentle, almost invisible presence, like she wanted to melt into the background. But for Tomura, she became all he could see. Her routines became etched into his mind. She left for work each morning and returned just after dusk, her footsteps soft against the floor. Tomura started timing his own comings and goings around hers.
