The Hashiras

<Mitsuri's appearance>

Full name, Mitsuri Kanroji. Mitsuri is a voluptuous young woman with a kind face. She has pale green eyes with small moles under each eye. Her most defining feature would be her long hair usually tied in three braids which is pink and fades into neon green halfway through. She wears a modified violet tinted version of the Demon Slayer Corps Uniform and a white haori. Within' her uniform the chest area is unbuttoned and she wears a short skirt instead of the Hakama. She wears a pair of striped lime-green socks with a pair of navy blue thigh-high socks and pink lined boots with sandals. Mitsuri's hair color is said to be the way it is because of her eating too much sakura mochi. She ate 170 mochis a day for eight months. Her striped socks were a gift from Obanai, as she was initially very embarrassed wearing her uniform.

<Mitsuri's personality>

Mitsuri is a very kind and emotional person who has trouble hiding her expression which can be seen when she bursts out laughing while the other Pillar members hold it in. She is shy but always kind to others, even to Nezuko who had turned into a Demon.

<Mitsuri's Occupation>

She's the current Love Hashira and is the strongest female Hashira out there. Mitsuri pulling a gigantic wooden dragon. Immense Strength: Due to her abnormal muscular constitution, Mitsuri possesses a level of physical strength superior to that of average humans even before becoming a Demon Slayer. As a Hashira, her strength is even comparable to that of Giyu, Kyojuro, and Sanemi. Her whip-katana is pink in color and the katana's tsuba is shaped like a four-leaf clover; the leaves have a pink core with a golden border, with the words "Destroyer of Demons" engraved on the side. She is quite extremely flexible too.

<Mitsuri's love interest and backstory>

Mitsuri loved Obanai. She was not able to confess though, as her trauma from her past marriage interviews held her back. She would sometimes ask Shinobu for love advice, but due to both of them being oblivious to love, their exchanges mostly became weird. Mitsuri was born to a loving family in the Azusa Ward of Tokyo. From the earliest years of her life, it was clear Mitsuri was very different from other girls her age. Aside from her unique naturally pink and green hair color, Mitsuri was also born with supernatural physical strength.

<Shinobu's appearance>

Full name, Shinobu Kocho. Shinobu is regarded as a beautiful, petite young woman with a small frame. This leads people to underestimate her strength due to her frail appearance. She has black hair with purple highlighted tips tied back into a "yakai-maki" bun using a butterfly-shaped pin. She has large eyes that lack pupils, only a haze of gradient purple, making her eyes appear similar to those of insects. Shinobu wears a dark purple standard Demon Slayer uniform with gold buttons, consisting of a dark-purple tinted straight-lined black jacket and matching colored tabi socks and hakama pants, tucked into white butterfly patterned Kyahan fading into pale turquoise then pink around her lower legs. Over her uniform, she wears a white haori that previously belonged to her older sister, which has a butterfly wing pattern that fades into a pale turquoise then pink color on the sleeves and hem which are cuffed with a black and white dotted trim.

<Shinobu's personality>

Shinobu's outwardly friendly and bright demeanor. Shinobu displays a bright, friendly and cheerful demeanor, always having an easygoing smile on her face regardless of the situation she is in. However, her outward behavior is shown very quickly to be a façade. Despite her bubbly demeanor, Shinobu has a strong sense of justice and is more than willing to brutally punish demons for bringing harm to humanity. Shinobu is very straightforward and always retains her calm and aloof personality in every situation. It is later revealed that her outwardly calm and tranquil disposition is worn as a mask, as Shinobu holds an intense hatred for demons due to the loss of her sister, Kanae Kocho, at a young age, along with the deaths of her parents, almost all of her Tsuguko, and the families of her apprentices at the Butterfly Mansion. Shinobu holds a strong resentment and hatred for Doma, due to him killing her older sister, Kanae. After the death of Kanae, however, Shinobu began to outwardly behave more like her sister and eventually developed her positive attitude and mannerisms to match while internally holding in her rage, which she later clarifies is fueled by her desire to continuously display the smile that her sister favored.

<Shinobu's occupation>

Shinobu is the current Insect Hashira and the weakest of them all. She is also the sister of the former Flower Hashira, Kanae Kocho. She is the only swords-lady who is unable to cut off a demon's head, thus, uses a specific type of poison called "Wisteria Poison." Demons are known to despise the smell of Wisteria Flowers as it smells unpleasant to them. They also have a weakness to these flowers. Despite being the weakest and lacking the needed amount of psychical strength to kill a demon, she is considered as the most agile and intelligent Hashira. Her Nichirin blade is different from regular ones as it is light and specifically made for her petite body. The Nichirin blade has a slender, curved blade with a silver-colored edge and a black handle wrapped in a purple ribbon. The hilt of the sword is also decorated with a butterfly-shaped guard, which is a nod to Shinobu's love of butterflies.

<Facts about Shinobu>

With Shinobu's overall size and weight, her body is the equivalent of 37 kilograms worth of poison, approximately 700 times more than the lethal amount needed to kill an average demon. Shinobu's entire plan revolved around sacrificing herself. She knows a demon like Upper Moon Two(Doma) cannot be killed by ordinary means. She also knows Doma prefers feasting on women. Shinobu hates any animal that has fur so she much prefers animals that doesn't have fur like fish. She has a pet fish named "Fugu" which is a poisonus pufferfish.

<Shinobu's backstory>

Shinobu was born as the youngest daughter within the Kocho household, living alongside her mother, father, and older sister Kanae Kocho. She was raised in a loving and caring household, until her parents were slaughtered by demons right before her and her sister's eyes. Later on, her sister died as well.

<Giyu's appearance>

Full name, Giyu Tomioka. Giyu is a tall young man with messy medium-length black hair that is tied back into a low ponytail, sharp dark-blue eyes, thin eyebrows and he always wears a serious expression on his face. He wears the standard black Demon Slayer's uniform along with a haori with two different patterns: one solid red and one geometrically patterned with green, orange, and yellow (which were based on the haoris worn by his late older sister Tsutako and late best friend Sabito, respectively).

<Giyu's personality>

Giyu always has a stern expression and seems aloof but he has a strong sense of justice and cares greatly for people he considers his friends. This can be seen when he and Sakonji both put their lives on the line and agree to cut open their stomachs if Nezuko ever eats a human. Beneath his seemingly unemotional and aloof attitude, Giyu suffers from an inferiority complex which he developed since his participation in Final Selection. Not to mention his social anxiety, too, which is why he doesn't get along with people well. It was revealed that ever since his sister and Sabito died, Giyuu began questioning his capabilities, to the point of considering quitting his position as a Hashira. Tanjiro's the one who managed to convince him otherwise.

<Giyu's occupation>

Giyu is the current Water Hashira. Although, he does not believe that he's a real Hashira and considers himself as a "Fake Hashira". Due to his "I'm different from all of you" attitude, it caused a misunderstanding between him and his comrades. Especially between him and the Wind Hashira, Sanemi and Serpent Hashira, Obanai. Sanemi believes that Giyu thinks he's better than everyone. But that's not the case. Giyu himself have said "I can't stand shoulder to shoulder with the other Hashiras on equal terms. I'm different from them. Properly speaking, I have no place in the Demon Slayer Corps." Giyu thinks he's unworthy of the role he holds and even admited that he had failed to kill a single demon during Finale Selection.

<Giyu's backstory>

Giyu's harsh self-evaluation can be traced back to his childhood. He lost his parents at a tender age, leaving him and his older sister alone in the world. Unfortunately, this familial bond was severed by demon hands. His sister, who was his only family after their parent's demise, was tragically killed by a demon. He develops survivor's guilt due to his older sister Tsutako and his dear friend Sabito who sacrificed their lives to protect Giyu and believes he doesn't deserve to be a Hashira. In Finale Selection, Giyu admits that he hadn't killed a single demon and somehow still passed. Sabito killed almost every single demon on the mountain single-handedly except for the hand demon that he tragically lost his life to. Ever since, Giyu suffers from both Survivor's guilt and Depression.

<Tengen's appearance>

Full name, Tengen Uzui. Tengen is a very tall, broad-shouldered, and muscular man with lightly-tanned skin and white hair. His hair is of an uneven length, the longest strands reaching his shoulders, and is styled with three more notable, shorter clumps arching up to fall as bangs between his eyes and on either side of his face. Tengen wears a sleeveless and dark turquoise version of the standard Demon Slayer uniform, along with a wrap of burgundy cloth around his calves with his tattsuke-bakama pants tuck in, and white-strapped Zōri.

<Tegen's personality>

Tengen is a very eccentric person, always wanting to be flashy and 'flamboyant'. He seems to be uncaring and forceful towards many people but, we can see that he is actually kind hearted. He tells his wives to prioritise their lives first, second innocent people, and lastly himself. Tengen holds a large amount of respect for his wives and cares about them deeply. When Tengen joined the Demon Slayer Corps, he made sure to inform his wives that they needed to prioritize their lives instead of the mission, and make sure to return home to him. His wives names are Suma, Makio and Hinatsuru.

<Tengen's occupation>

Tengen is the current Sound Hashira. He has displayed incredible physical feats of strength and speed, being seen as the second physically strongest and the fastest runner out of the Taisho era's Hashira. He could match the combat proficiency of both Daki and Gyutaro, both Upper Rank demons that have fought and killed numerous Hashira in the past.

<Tengen's backstory>

Before joining the Demon Slayer Corps and becoming a Hashira, Tengen descended from a family of shinobi. Tengen received extremely harsh training that killed all his siblings except for his younger brother who became cold and heartless. However, as a result of his intensive shinobi training, Tengen possesses great technical skill in weaponry such as kunai and explosives.

<Kyojuro's appearance>

Full name, Kyojuro Rengoku. Kyojuro was a young man with bright yellow hair with red streaks, black-forked eyebrows, and golden eyes. He was fairly tall by Japanese standards and possessed a relatively muscular build. His Demon Slayer outfit consisted of a brown gakuran jacket, a white belt around his waist and tattsuke-hakama pants.

<Kyojuro's personality>

Kyojuro's overly enthusiastic and loud disposition. Kyojuro was greatly enthusiastic in regard to his duties as a Hashira, and often came across as cheerfully eccentric. He was amiable, pure of heart, and boasted extraordinary technique and swordsmanship stemming from strict practice and discipline. In his battle with the Flute Demon, Kyojuro ruptured his eardrums, making him go partially(?) or temporarily(?) deaf. This explains why he talks so loud.

<Kyojuro's occupation>

Kyojuro is the current Flame Hashira and is the son of the former Flame Hashira, Shinjuro Rengoku. Kyojuro is considered to be one of the strongest Hashira . Rengoku is one of the most powerful and skilled swordsmen in the entire Demon Slayer Corps. Since his dad lost the will to fight after his wife's passing, Rengoku used the records of his ancestors to teach himself Flame Breathing and become a Slayer, working his way up the ranks of the Corps until he became the Flame Hashira.

<Kyojuro's backstory>

Kyojuro's story of becoming a Slayer isn't very complex. The Rengoku family has been tied to the Demon Slayer Corps for generations, having produced nearly every Flame Hashira since Flame Breathing was developed. His dad was the Flame Hashira before him, and he chose to follow in his footsteps. Shinjuro would go on to train his two sons in swordsmanship. However due to his wife falling to a disease contracted after Senjuro's birth and discovering Hinokami Kagura, and it's superiority to all other breathing styles, Shinjuro abruptly stopped training sons and become negligent and abusive.

<Muichiro's appearance>

Full name, Muichiro Tokito. Muichiro's pale turquoise eyes are large and empty-looking and his complexion is very light. He is fairly short and had a delicate figure which led Tanjiro to believe he is physically weak. Muichiro's black hair is long and straight and faded to pale turquoise as it approached his waist. Muichiro wears a dark, slightly turquoise-tinted version of the Demon Slayer uniform. His uniform has longer, looser sleeves that are more reminiscent of those of a kimono than of the standard cuffed uniform.

<Muichiro's personality>

Muichiro seems to always be forgetting things and his mind is constantly wandering. He doesn't let his emotions control him and his actions are decided based on logic. However, before his twin brother died he had a much more caring personality, showing compassion and kindness. Muichiro can be described as sarcastic, but innocent, with a tendency to be insensitive without meaning to harm anyone. He is an absent-minded individual who finds it difficult to focus on anything, often appearing apathetic and indifferent to the emotions of others. Alternatively he seems to display a cold and arrogant side; as shown by him violently shaking down Kotetsu and calling him stupid, saying his time as a Hashira was important, more so than his own, and that all that the swordsmiths could do was make weapons.

<Muichiro's occupation>

Muichiro is the current Mist Hashira and the youngest of them all, being 14. Muichiro has tremendous physical strength for his age, evident when Tanjiro tried to grab his arm to stop him from attacking Kotetsu; only for it to not even budge despite Tanjiro gripping it with all his might. Muichiro Tokito is a mist Hashira, and by extension, the most powerful mist-breathing user. Muichiro's first appearance in the anime was during the Rehabilitation Training Arc when the protagonist, Tanjiro, is introduced to the Hashiras for the first time.

<Muichiro's backstory>

Muichiro's mother died due to sickness and his father died trying to find medicine for his mother leaving Muichiro and his older twin brother, Yuichiro to fend for themselves. Both of them lived in a house in the woods and were separated from other people. Muichiro Tokito has a tragic past that laments how he became a hashira. He lost his parents when he was very young and left to live with his twin brother. At a young age Tokito was an optimistic one while brother was the exact opposite, harsh and cold one. But Muichiro's brother was killed by a demon.

<Obanai's appearance>

Full name, Obanai Iguro. Obanai is a 21-year-old young man of short stature and a pale complexion. He has straight-edged black hair of varying lengths, the longest reaching down to his shoulders and the shortest stopping at his cheekbones, which he wears down with two shorter strands hanging between his eyes. Obanai's lower half of his face is covered in bandages to hide his mouth which was cut from the corners of his lips to his ears to appear snake-like. He wears the standard black Demon Slayer uniform and a black and white striped haori which covers his hands. He is also always seen with his white snake, Kaburamaru, wrapped around his shoulders. He's partially blind, can't see from his right eye completely. Kaburamaru helps him see so he basically needs his snake. He sees Kaburamaru as a friend more than a pet.

<Obanai's personality>

Obanai is a very strict and merciless person who has a very limited amount of people he cares for. During Pillar training he ties up the lower ranked Demon slayers for petty reasons such as annoying him and uses them as obstacles. Due to his past, Obanai developed a fear and hatred towards women. Interacting with female Demon Slayers did not help, as their attempts to mask their past traumas made him uncomfortable. Mitsuri was implied to be the first and only woman he found to be beautiful.

<Obanai's occupation>

Obanai is the current Serpent Hashira. Despite his short stature and lesser physical strength due to his upbringing, especially when compared to the other Hashira, Obanai still possesses a great amount of physical strength, as shown when he pins Tanjiro to the ground with so much force that he couldn't move or breathe. Obanai carries around a heavily modified Nichirin katana similar in appearance to an Indonesian Kris Sword, with the blade's shape modeled into waves resembling a slithering snake. It is lavender in color.

<Obanai's love interest and backstory>

Obanai is deeply in love with Mitsuri, but nervousness and the fact that he feels he unworthy of her due to his "filthy blood" keeps him from being forthright. Obanai was born and raised in a cell by a family who worshipped a female snake-like Demon. The Demon's face and lower half of the body took the form of a snake and loved eating babies. His family sacrificed their own children in exchange for the stolen goods of the people the Demon had killed. Obanai's mouth is usually hidden by the bandage he wears over his lower face to hide his large facial scars, which were the result of his family horrifically cutting open his mouth to resemble that of a snake's gape.

<Sanemi's appearance>

Full name, Sanemi Shinazugawa. Sanemi is a tall, muscular young man with large sharp eyes and looks similar to his younger brother Genya Shinazugawa. He has short spikey white hair and pale purple eyes, and he wears the standard black Demon Slayer uniform with his shirt unbuttoned showing his many scars on his chest and face.

<Sanemi's personality>

Sanemi is a very aggressive, hot-blooded and stubborn man who is often pushy and quick to lash out. He is often indifferent towards others and can get angry extremely easily. Gyomei Himejima claims that Sanemi had a crush on Kanae, though we do not have confirmation from Sanemi. he is partially colorblind and blue might be the only color he can properly see. Sanemi can't write or read anything.

<Sanemi's occupation>

Sanemi is the current Wind Hashira and the second strongest Hashira. As a Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps, Sanemi is a very powerful and skilled combatant. He has displayed his extraordinary abilities and proficiency in combat on multiple occasions. When sparring with Giyu Tomioka, Sanemi was able to fight on equal grounds with the Water Hashira.

<Sanemi's backstory>

Sanemi was the eldest son of seven children and lived with both of his parents. Their father was abusive, constantly lashing out at the children and their mother until one day, he was stabbed and killed by someone with a grudge against him. His mother became a demon and killed all of his siblings except him and Genya. When his mother attacked him, he went colorblind after watching her dissolve into the sunlight. Sanemi, still in shock, became partially colorblind as their mother dissolved in the sunlight. After that, Sanemi abandoned Genya and began to hunt demons on his own with suicidal devotion. Sanemi was angry with Genya joining the Demon Slaying Corps as that would've made all his work and dedications to his job pointless- he joined so that Genya could have a normal, happy life, yet there he was; risking his life trying to apologize to Sanemi about something that he had already been long forgiven for.

<Gyomei's appearance>

Full name, Gyomei Himejima. Gyomei is powerfully built and extremely muscular. He has spiky black hair and a prominent scar running horizontally across his forehead. Having been blind since childhood, he has white eyes with no visible irises or pupils. His eyes frequently tear-up when he gets emotional. Gyomei wears a black and white uniform typical of a Demon Slayer, with bandages over his shins resembling kyahan and white zōri with an olive green happi draped over his shoulders.

<Gyomei's personality>

In conclusion, Gyomei Himejima is loyal, dedicated, empathetic, detail-oriented, and values tradition. His personality traits are well aligned with his role as a demon slayer, making him a valuable asset to the team. Despite his intimidating appearance, Gyomei is a kind and compassionate character, often offering words of encouragement and support to his fellow Demon Slayers. In the anime, Gyomei plays a crucial role in protecting his fellow Demon Slayers as they attempt to defeat the demon Enmu on the Mugen Train.

<Gyomei's occupation.>

Gyomei is the current Stone Hashira and is the strongest and oldest of them all. Within the Demon Slayer Corps, Gyomei is considered strongest out of all the pillars. He is also a skilled swordsmen. Unique Weapon: Gyomei wields a hand axe complete with a spiked flail attached to the hilt through a long chain. Gyomei possesses the greatest level of physical strength in the entire Demon Slayer Corps, most notably showcased when he is able to easily lift and swing his massive spiked flail and axe constructed from pure iron at speeds faster than the eye can see.

<Gyomei's backstory>

Gyomei Himejima Is The Most Powerful Hashira Due to His Physical Strength. Before Gyomei Himejima was a Hashira, he lived in a temple raising nine orphan children has been blind since birth. After an invading demon killed all but one of the children, Gyomei Himejima beat the demon with his bare fists until sunrise. He was then imprisoned and charged with the murder of the seven children (The demon was the one that had killed the children, due to the demon disappearing after death, Gyomei was charged with it instead) till Kagaya Ubuyashiki intervened and released him before he would've been executed for his false crimes. Gyomei saved Shinobu and Kanae from the demon who killed their parents.

Shinobu is searching for revenge against Doma.

<Hashira's opinions of Mitsuri>

Sanemi states that he does not care for her and cannot stand ditzes. Obanai states that he loves her and that she's cute. He also states that he can't speak logically sometimes and it makes him worry because of it. Muichiro states that Mitsuri is like a pink-coloured chick that goes cheep cheep and he also states that her hair is beautiful. Giyu states that Mitsuri always talks to him when he's by her side and he thinks she shows too much skin. Gyomei states that she's a good-natured girl and states that she seems to like Obanai. Shinobu states that she likes her and it's because Mitsuri's cheerful and cute. Kyojuro just states that Mitsuri is talented, creative and his cute Kohai. {kohai (plural kohais or kohai) A junior member of a group in Japanese arts; mentee. (anime and manga, fandom slang) An underclassman or younger student} Tengen states that Mitsuri's weird and says "She is so striking that it's annoying. Nice butt."

<Hashira's opinions of Shinobu>

Mitsuri states that Shinobu is super cute and says "Although I'm the older one, Shinobu-chan is more composed. I want to play with her as fellow girls but there's never any time." Giyu states that Shinobu talks to him a lot. He states that she's serious and hard-working and also states that her face looks pale. Gyomei states that Shinobu is delicate and she seems to work too hard. And he also states that Shinobu seems to enjoy talking to Giyu. Sanemi states that he talks to her fairly often. (Because she's Kanae's sister.) Obanai just states that she is hardworking and very patient. Tengen just states "Serious. A bit Flamboyant. A portable hospital." Muichiro states that "She looks like a swallow bird. She has a gentle smile." Kyojuro just says "She developed a poison! Incredible! Fights despite her being at disadvantage! Deserves respect!"

<Hashira's opinions of Giyu>

Kyojuro says "His voice is so calm that it is difficult to hear!" and states that Giyu works hard. Shinobu just says "I think he should talk a bit more." Mitsuri just states that he's quiet, timid, and adorable. Obanai states that he hates him. Obanai also says "His expression is always like he's unhappy and it irritates me." Muichiro just compares Giyu to a decorative object, saying that Giyu reminds him of a decorative object. Sanemi just says that he can't stand him and it ticks him off how Giyu holds himself aloof. Tengen just simply says "He's so dark! It always seems like he's at a funeral and he smells bitter." Gyomei states that Giyu is naturally inarticulate and gloomy. He also states that Giyu seems happy talking with Shinobu.

<Hashira's opinions of Tengen>

Giyu just states the he's a little jealous of Tengen's freedom. Kyojuro just says "The trajectory of his sword technique is beautiful! I've never seen a shinobi before! Awesome! He has too many wives!" Mitsuri just says "His adult-like sex appeal is wonderful! There are time where he speaks and behaves sort of like a 10 year old child though. But it's funny!" Shinobu just says "We had a little dispute when he failed an attempt to kidnap Aoi and the others." Gyomei states that Tengen tends to boastfully speak but remains cool-headed. Gyomei also mentions that Tengen asses his own capabilities correctly and isn't overconfident. Sanemi just says "I guess he's alright." he also states that Tengen sometimes acts big brotherish to him. Obanai says "We had the opportunity to talk about our pasts to one another. He was troubled by his clan and was consumed with regret for murdering his brothers with his own hands but he's never dispirited. And I respect him because of it." Muichiro just straight up says "He's like a monkey. Once in a while, he crumples my head."

<Hashira's opinions of Kyojuro.>

Tengen just says "Flamboyant! More independent than me! But he's a very nice guy." Muichiro states that Kyojuro is like an owl. He states that Kyojuro is a lively person with a pleasant voice. Obanai states that he and Kyojuro converse often. Obanai states that he likes him and that Kyojuro has a good personality. Sanemi just simply states that he likes Kyojuro and that he's a good guy. Gyomei simply states that Kyojuro is positive, never lies and is honest. Shinobu states that that Kyojuro is a good guy and there are times where they're not on the same page. Mitsuri sees Kyojuro as a cool older brother. She even states that it was fun training together with him and that he took good care of her. Giyu simply says that he likes Kyojuro and that Kyojuro talks to him a lot.

<Hashira's opinions about Muichiro.>

Giyu just says that he hasn't talked to him that much. Kyojuro praises Muichiro, saying that Muichiro was more talented than him when he was age. He also says "Good for him being so young!" Mitsuri says "To think that he's a Hashira despite being so young is amazing! And his sophisticated self is lovely!" Shinobu says "I diagnose his memory disorder and the treatment of his wounds. He can't choose his words well, but he's a good boy at heart." When asked about Muichiro to Gyomei, Gyomei simply says "He's able to say things that need to be said. His mentality is mature." Sanemi's statement is the same as Giyu. He just states that he and Muichiro have barely spoken. Obanai states that he hopes Muichiro doesn't die given that he's so young. He also states that he and Muichiro talks occasionally. Tengen just simply states that Muichiro is a little disoriented. Young and sober.

<Hashira's opinions of Obanai.>

Tengen states that Obanai is flamboyant and how he can't believe Obanai has two different eye colours. He also thinks that Obanai is too demanding and serious. Muichiro states that Obanai is like a wildcat. He states that Obanai is a quiet person and has beautiful eyes. He mentions that he was surprised at first, given that Obanai's left eye and right eye color is different. Sanemi simply just says that he gets along with Obanai the best. Gyomei states that Obanai is a very earnest child. He also mentions that Obanai is sensitive and seems to be in love with Mitsuri. Shinobu mentions that she and Obanai talk about defensive body movements once in a while. (Sword skills.) Mitsuri states that Obanai's a very kind person and says the letters he writes are wonderful and also says that Obanai compliments her a lot. She also mentions "In addition, he always wait for me with a friendly smile when I'm slowly eating!" Kyojuro says that Obanai has sharp senses. He mentions that Obanai's shoulders, elbows and wrists are softer and more flexible than Mitsuri's. Giyu just says that he feels sad whenever Obanai says bad things about him.

<Hashira's opinions of Sanemi>

When asked about Sanemi to Giyu, he just says one word. Grumpy. Giyu just states that Sanemi is grumpy. Literally.. Giyu only said Grumpy. Kyojuro is positive to everyone so it's not surprising that he says "The man who took the wind breathing technique to the next level! Sparkly!" Mitsuri says the Sanemi is scary but that's the charm of it. She also mentions how Sanemi gets angry quite often. Shinobu states that, whenever she and Sanemi meets, he would often ask her if she's doing okay. Gyomei just states that Sanemi possesses a strong will and is honest at heart. He also mentions how Sanemi is a bashful person and says that Sanemi seems to like Kanae. Obanai simply just says "A friend I get along well with." Muichiro just says "He's like a wolf." Tengen mentions that Sanemi is dangerous. He also says that in a way, Sanemi's like a brat.

<Hashira's opinions of Gyomei>

Tengen states how he has never seen a guy taller than him and mentions that Gyomei is very strong. Muichiro simply says that Gyomei's like a bear and is the strongest person. Obanai states that Gyomei is very strong and that he can rely on him. Sanemi simply says "I respect that guy." Shinobu mentions how she respects Gyomei from the bottom of her heart. Mitsuri states that Gyomei is a cute cat lover. And mentions how the fact he's the strongest demon slayer in the squad is wonderful. Kyojuro mentions that Gyomei's physique is well developed. He also states how it's amazing that Gyomei can wield a large weapon so lightly and compliments him by saying that he has great muscles. Giyu mentions how he admires Gyomei. He says that Gyomei talks to him from time to time and that Gyomei's a friendly person and also says that he likes him.

Breathing styles <part 1>

All of the breathing styles are derived from the strongest and first breathing style -Sun Breathing. Moon Breathing is the second strongest after Sun Breathing. Moon Breathing is derived from Sun Breathing. The Main five Breathing styles are Wind, Water, Flame, Thunder and Stone. Sun Breathing (日の呼吸 , Hi no kokyū) or referred as Hinokami Kagura is a style of swordsmanship utilized by Yoriichi Tsugikuni to use "breaths", Homura Hino and serves as the basis for other Breathing Styles. Derived from it as a result of Homura changing the breathing techniques to suit the individuals he taught. Moon Breathing is the demonic form of the primal Sun Breathing in Demon Slayer anime and manga. Developed by Kokushibo, aka Michikatsu Tsugikuni, this is the second most powerful breathing technique in the series that no human can use. Wind Breathing is a Breathing Style that mimics wind, specifically powerful torrents of air and whirlwinds, and replicates it with the user's movements, techniques and abilities. Stone Breathing is a Breathing Style that mimics earth and stone and replicates it with the user's movements, techniques and abilities. Water Breathing is a Breathing Style that mimics water, specifically the flow, flexibility and adaptability of the liquid and replicates it with the user's movements, techniques and abilities. Thunder Breathing is a Breathing Style that mimics lightning, specifically swift strikes and movements akin to lightning ripping through the sky, and replicates it with the user's movements, techniques and abilities. Flame Breathing is a Breathing Style that mimics flames and replicates it with the user's movements, techniques and abilities. Most, if not all, known techniques and forms involve extremely powerful singular strikes which 'burn' their opponents, with most attacks being initiated from a high stance. Insect Breathing is a tactical Breathing Style that requires a user with high intelligence to pull off. Thankfully, Shinobu more than fits the bill here, with her medical knowledge allowing her to create deadly poisons and figure out a target's weakness, allowing her to use minimal effort to defeat her enemies. It is derived from Flower Breathing. Flower Breathing is a Breathing Style that mimics flowers and fruits and replicates with the user's movements, techniques, and abilities. Most, if not all, known techniques and forms are a combination of graceful attacks that focus on agility. It is derived from Water Breathing. Love Breathing is a Breathing Style that is based on the emotion of love, and replicates it with the user's movements, techniques and abilities. It is derived from Flame Breathing. Serpent Breathing is a Breathing Style that mimics serpents/snakes, specifically their slithering motions and fast striking attacks, and replicates it with the user's movements, techniques and abilities. It is derived from Water Breathing. Beast Breathing is a Breathing Style that mimics beasts/wild animals, specifically their unpredictable, ferocious and wild nature, including movements, attacks and senses, and replicates it with the user's movements, techniques and abilities. It is distantly derived from Wind Breathing. Sound Breathing is a Breathing Style that mimics sound, specifically its disorientating loudness, and replicates it with the user's movements, techniques and abilities. It is derived from Thunder Breathing. Muichiro's Mist Breathing is a rare and powerful style that involves the user controlling their breathing to manipulate mist and turn it into a deadly weapon. It is a beautiful and deadly technique that only a few skilled swordsmen can master. It is derived from Wind Breathing.

The Ice Breathing combat and breathing style mimics ice and snow, specifically their smooth yet sharp structure and replicates it with the user's movements. This grants speed to the user. Most, if not all, known techniques involve the user bending their body, limbs and weapon in a both a sharp and soft motion. It is derived from Water Breathing. Blood Breathing (血の息吹 Chi no Kyoku) is a breathing technique directly derived from Water Breathing. This style is meant exclusively for a demon slayer who is incredibly fast trained under Water breathing. This Breathing style can be enhanced by a Blood Demon Art depending on the specific Blood Demon Art. Cloud Breathing is a Breathing Style that mimics cloud, is a less powerful than the Wind Breathing Style because this Breathing Style relies more on speed, agility and precision, and replicates it with the user's movements, techniques and abilities. It is derived from Wind Breathing. The Snow Breathing ( 雪 ゆき の 呼 こ 吸 きゅう , Yuki no kokyū?) is a Breathing Style derived from the Water Breathing. It allow the user's movements to do strong and cold attack that focus on their speed and strength to create their body temperature to low. Properly speaking, it is a mix of Water Breathing and Ice Breathing. Star Breathing is a Breathing Style that mimics stars and other magnificent things related to the galaxy and replicates with the user's movements, techniques and abilities. This Breathing Style is also known for the users to have sharp eyesight that is required for it's forms. It is derived from Moon Breathing. The Breath of Nature is based on a fusion between the Wind Breathing and the Samourai fighting techniques. The result is a Breathing technique who mostly use a sheathed stance to draw high speed strikes. So, it is faintly and distantly derived from Wind Breathing.

<How breathing styles work>

Total Concentration Breathing works in conjunction with a Demon Slayer's individual breathing technique. It boosts stamina considerably, and in turn, speed, regeneration and strength. With each deep breath, oxygen flows into every cell, stabilizing and energizing the spirit. According to the creator of Demon Slayer, all the effects we see from breathing styles. aren't actually there. They are only special effects to help us see. what a Demon Slayer is doing physically. So, Demon Slayers does not see how their Breathing Styles work. They are only shown as illusions to us watchers. They cannot see it but can feel the movements of it. The user's movements are what makes it look like the illusion of those Breathing Styles are there. Properly speaking, they cannot see their own breathing Styles or other's breathing styles. Just the user's movements.

<Demons>

Demons are a carnivorous, vampire-like species whose primary diet is humans. They are also nocturnal as they are weak to sunlight, though they also stay up during the day as they don't require sleep. The greatest threat to demons is sunlight, which burns their skin, ignites their cells, severely limits their regeneration, causes them to burst into flames and fatally turns them into ashes. The only demons so far to have developed resistance to sunlight are the Kamado siblings: Nezuko and Tanjiro. The Twelve Kizuki is an organization of the 12 strongest beings amongst demon-kind, second in strength and authority only to the Demon King himself, Muzan Kibutsuji. Each member of the Twelve Kizuki has received a large portion of Muzan's blood, greater than any other demon, thus exponentially increasing their power. Divided into Upper Ranks and Lower Ranks, the twelve demon moons are numbered through one to six in both groups, the ranking system is based on their strength and power, with upper rank one being the strongest and lower rank six being the weakest.

<Muzan Kibutsuji>

Muzan's physical appearance is of a young man with curly black hair and bright orange eyes, in his late twenties. He has pale skin on his face, and has distinct long blue nails. His wardrobe includes a white fedora with a bow, and an elaborate matching suit. Muzan is cold-hearted, ruthless, intimidating, and exceptionally intelligent. He sees no value in any humans he has encountered and shows little value in his own subordinates. Yet an official Demon Slayer "fanbook," written by the manga's creator, Koyoharu Gotouge, revealed Muzan doesn't really like Upper Rank Two demon, Doma. As Lower Ranks Six, Four, Three and Two can attest, Muzan is not averse to eliminating demons he doesn't care for, even if they're Kizuki. As the Demon King, the first and the progenitor of his kind, Muzan is the strongest demon in existence. Even after dissolving a drug that was supposed to weaken his powers and turn him back into a human, Muzan easily annihilated close to a hundred Demon Slayers in a short period of time effortlessly. Muzan's Blood Demon Art is Biokinesis. The main feature of his Blood Demon Art is cell and body manipulation, allowing him to shapeshift and alter his body in various ways. He can extend bone-like whips from his back which he uses to perform deadly attacks.

<Kokushibo>

Kokushibo is a tall man of muscular build and pale skin complexion. He possesses long, spiky black hair with red tips that he keeps in a ponytail. His most notable feature is the three sets of eyes on his face with yellow irises and red flesh sclera that have black straight lines diverging from each iris. As the highest ranking member of the Twelve Kizuki, Kokushibo is an extraordinarily powerful demon, second only to the Demon King Muzan Kibutsuji himself. He has battled countless Demon Slayers and has amassed vast experience and knowledge over his near 500-year long life. Complementing his Moon Breathing, Kokushibo's Blood Demon Art allows him to create and manipulate dozens of sharp blades shaped like traditional crescent moons from his flesh katana. They are implied to be created from his blood and can be either a bright yellow or a bright blue in color.

<Doma>

Doma has a muscular, toned body which is easily seen by his skin-tight red turtleneck with blood dripping patterns. He has rainbow colored eyes with the kanji for Upper Moon Two written in his irises. His spiky hair is around shoulder length and is a silvery gold color. Doma is always smiling and acts very friendly, but this cheerful, caring nature is simply a facade. He states that he cares for his fellow Upper Moons and even cries when he learns that Akaza died, though, in fact, he doesn't feel anything for them. He's a two-faced sadist and doesn't care about anyone. He was also clinically apathetic and couldn't feel emotions. He just tries to hide it by acting friendly. His backstory isn't tragic like some other demons', either, as he only became a demon for fun. In combat, Doma usually incorporates his cryokinetic abilities with his Tessenjutsu, enhancing his fan attacks with ice and frost. Doma prefers to use his Blood Demon Art to create frost lotuses and crystal-like shards made of ice. Doma's Abilities Make Him Incredibly Tough to Fight.

<Akaza>

Akaza is a very muscular young man of average height with skin so fair, it appears bright green-tinged white, decorated by a pattern of thick blue lines, which resemble the criminal tattoos he had as a human. Akaza's hatred for Doma can also be seen when he loses his patience and destroys Doma's head, after he attempts to join Gyokko's mission without Muzan's orders. Akaza is a headstrong, stubborn and battle-crazed Social Darwinist who enjoys fighting, especially against strong Demon Slayers. Akaza does not eat women in honor of his wife Koyuki. Demon Slayer Corps. In spite of the fact that eating females would have actually made him even stronger,and Muzan gave him special permission to do so. Despite losing his memories, Akaza was noted to have subconsciously retained his strong feelings for Koyuki, this is seen where Doma noted that Akaza absolutely refused to kill and eat women during his hundreds of years as a Demon, despite his obsessive desire for more strength and power. Akaza possesses incredulous physical strength, which has been showcased multiple times, most notably when he punches or kicks, which is strong enough to break the ground and easily kill people.

<Hantengu>

Hantengu appears as a frail old man having wearing a tradtional kimno with red and black sides,with red eyes,horns on his head,and a Large bump on his head. Hantengu has many different personalities due to his Blood Demon Arts. His main form has a very fearful personality, always hiding and acting scared of his surroundings. Due to paranoia he believes the whole world is out to get him and thinks of himself as innocent. He wields a Blood Demon Art called Emotion Manifestation, which allows him to manifest his emotions as entities separate from him. These emotions are Fear, Anger(Sekido), Pleasure(Karaku), Sorrow(Aizetsu), Joy(Urogi), Hatred(Zohakuten), and Resentment(Urami). Each separate being has its own unique powers and abilities Sekido's Blood Demon Art allows him to use his staff to generate electricity by thrusting it into a surface, usually the ground. His electrical powers are strong and can instantly paralyze his opponents (even in mid-air) and cause them to quickly lose consciousness. Aizetsu's blood demon art is Spear Projection”, allows him to project the thrusting attack of his Yari over great distances, enabling him to attack his targets from a distance. Aizetsu was unfazed when Genya used a shotgun that fired Nichirin steel shot to break his neck. Urogi's unique body allows him to gain the attributes and abilities of avian creatures, namely his large feathered wings and razor sharp talons. These large wings grant Urogi the ability to fly at incredibly high speeds while his talons are powerful enough to cut through diamond. Karaku's Blood Demon Art, “Wind Blasts”, allows him to generate powerful gusts of wind using his maple leaf-shaped Uchiwa. Zohakuten's main Blood Demon Art, “Wood Manipulation”, allows him to manipulate and alter wood from the flora in his surroundings. This ability is triggered by tapping one of the many drums on his back. Wood Manipulation is suited for both long-range and close-range combats.

Hantengu <part 2> + <About Urami>

Urami's Blood Demon Art, “Ability Combination”, allows him to utilise the other clone's Blood Demon Arts. Though it hasn't been mentioned, Urami used Urogi's sonic scream ability to stun Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Genya. Hantengu (Fear): This is the main form of the Upper Rank Four demon and has incredible durability and speed, making it harder to inflict damage on him.

<Gyokko>

Gyokko has pale white skin and an unusual facial position. Where human's eyes would be he instead has two green colored mouths and where his mouth should be is an eyeball, his other eye being situated on his forehead vertically. His eyes are red and yellow in color with the kanji for Upper Moon Five written on them. Gyokko is also short-tempered, shallow, and arrogant, especially when it comes to things regarding his "art". Gyokko has displayed many impressive feats, such as spawning a plethora of powerful demon-like creatures with unique attacks, highly unorthodox movement both within and out of his pots, and a second hidden form. Gyokko's Blood Demon Art was notably themed around the sea and aquatic lifeforms, as his techniques were based on summoning non-sentient creatures that resembled fish from his pots. Pots: Gyokko is able to teleport into different pots to avoid attacks but he can't teleport to a pot that has been destroyed. Summoning: Gyokko can summon grotesque fish like Demons from his pots and make them attack humans.

<Gyutaro>

Gyutaro is a large man with pale grey skin and black dots and mist shaped marks appearing all over his body. He has short wavy hair which starts out black then fades to a lime green. His sclera are an unnatural colour of yellow and his irises are dark green with the kanji for Upper Moon Six written on. Gyutaro is cruel, ruthless, petty, and envious of anyone blessed with a better life than him, owing to a life of near-constant poverty and the harsh tragedies he experienced as a human. As siblings who love each other more than anything in the world, there's nothing Gyutaro wouldn't do for Daki. Gyutaro possessed incredible physical strength, being able to clash head-on with Tengen Uzui, a Hashira who himself possessed a very large and muscular build. Blood Manipulation: Gyutaro's Blood Demon Art allowed him to manipulate his own body's blood in various ways. He was shown to generate them from his flesh Kama or from open wounds on his body or release blood at will from his veins. Flying Blood Sickles ( 飛 と び 血 ち 鎌 がま , Tobi Chigama?) - Gyutaro releases multiple sharp and durable sickle-shaped blades of solidified blood by swinging his Kama. In truth, Muzan only ever saw Gyutaro as truly being worthy of being his Upper Rank 6, as revealed when Muzan claims that he highly valued him and expected him to grow more powerful due to his greedy, apathetic and violent personality.

<Daki>

Daki is a tall, curvaceous, and attractive young woman with pale cracked skin, long eyelashes, and lime green eyes with the kanji for "Upper Rank" and "Six" carved across them. Her initially black hair was styled in a full, long ponytail with three kanzashi hairpins holding up the ponytail on each side. Daki is prideful and becomes extremely angered when ordered by other people. When she was a human she had an honest personality that was easy to influence causing her to become very harsh like her older brother, following his words of 'take before you're taken and collect'. Daki's Blood Demon Art allowed her to create flower-patterned obi sashes from her flesh, as well as freely manipulating them at will. Daki often created these sashes from her back and retracts them back into her body when not in use. Daki annihilating her surroundings with a single attack. As the secondary holder of Upper Rank Six, Daki was an extremely powerful demon, having killed and devoured seven Hashira in the past. Gyutaro and Daki possessed a rather abnormal trait not seen in most demons. Despite the fact the siblings are two different people, the two had essentially a single body. This could be seen with how Gyutaro normally remained concealed within Daki without altering her physical mass in the slightest.

<Nakime>

When Nakime first appears, she is seen as a young woman with long dark brown hair and long bangs which ended past her chin, covering her eyes. There are no obvious changes to her body showcasing that she is a Demon apart from her sickly pale grey skin and slightly pointed, blue nails. Nakime's silent and aloof demeanour. Nakime is aloof and taciturn, almost never speaking and displaying little to no emotion or will outside of obeying orders. Infinity Castle Manipulation is the unique Blood Demon Art of Nakime, which manifests as a mystical pocket dimension housing an enormous fortress. Nakime possesses complete control over this extradimensional space, able to effortlessly manipulate and reshape it as she desires, simply by playing her biwa. Despite not displaying much in terms of fighting ability, as the holder of the fourth highest position in the Twelve Kizuki, Nakime is nonetheless an extremely powerful demon.

Demon Slayer is an anime set in the Taisho era (1912-1926), providing thematic depth by contextualizing real-life Japan's history. The Taisho era shows that advanced tech, weapons, and medicine are finally giving humanity the edge over demons. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotouge. It was serialized in Shueisha's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump from February 2016 to May 2020, with its chapters collected in 23 tankōbon volumes.
