who is Tom

Thomas (or Tom as he is mostly called) is the animated counterpart of Thomas Ridgewell (aka Tomska) and one of the two deuteragonists (along with Matt) of the Eddsworld series. He is known for having a blue hoodie, spiky brown hair that he called Steve in moving targets, and no eyes. He appears to be an extremely intelligent and fun individual. Although he is also known to drink a lot of alcohol. He often appears bored or unflappable, even when something exciting or bad happens to him and his friends. Although he usually presents himself as a good character, he is known for his deep hatred of Christmas, since he is a Jehovah's Witness (Although in reality they do not hate Christmas, they simply do not celebrate it). This causes him to always try to kill Santa on Christmas Day. His attempts are usually unsuccessful, but in Zanta Claws III, Tom steals Zanta Claws' sleigh and nearly destroys Christmas, making him the main antagonist of the episode. He was originally voiced by Alex L'Abbe due to Tom Ridgewell not having a microphone at the time. Throughout most of the classic Eddsworld and Eddsworld: Legacy, he was voiced by his real-life counterpart before his final departure from the show, and is currently voiced by Ed Templer.

Tom has brown hair with four spikes pointing upwards, which he has nicknamed Steve, what "Moving Targets" look like. His hair is similar to his father's, which is a pineapple. One of its most distinguishable characteristics is the fact that it has no eyes and, instead of them, it has two deep black holes. It is unknown why since Tom did not make it clear at any point in the series. This characteristic may be derived from its mother, which is a bowling ball. His jacket has the same appearance as Edd, Matt and Tord's, with the exception of its color, which in his case is blue. He has only one pocket at the bottom of his jacket, and has two cords hanging from it at the top. Tom's pants have different appearances, depending on the episode, sometimes he can be seen wearing dark blue jeans and other times he wears gray pants. He also wears checkered sneakers, with a design similar to chess boards.

His old appearance was different from how we know him, he had wave-shaped hair, his jacket was navy blue instead of normal blue, his pants were dark navy blue instead of gray, but what characterizes his old model It was his face, his eyes are a black line instead of two lower ones and he turned them white when he was surprised. Tom's personality

Tom is generally described as cynical, pessimistic and cold. He can be smart or stupid depending on the situation he is in. He generally does not get along with the others in the group, such as Matt or Tord, with Edd being the one with whom he has a more developed relationship. At the same time, he does not enjoy Christmas because he is a Jehovah's Witness, leading him to be quite disinterested when it comes to Christmas and he always wants to destroy it, transforming him into an antagonist. He is often seen bored or unflappable, even when something exciting or bad is happening to him and his friends, such as in Space Face: Part 2, when they were about to crash.

Thomas Ridgewell was a fan of Edd Gould, and because of that, Tom made a faceless Edd fanart (a reference to Edd Again) as a gift for Edd, and although Edd commented on this and a second piece of art. were originally tracked down, the two would eventually become friends and the character in the fanart piece would become an Eddsworld character who would first appear in a Halloween short.

Later, it is revealed that he was actually shooting Zanta Claws instead of Santa. At the end of the episode, Santa gives Tom a bottle of Smirnoff. Tom is happy until he discovers that it is actually Diet Smirnoff, prompting him to pull out his bazooka and shoot.

One of Tom's most evil acts is when he tries to destroy Christmas in "Zanta Claws III". Tom, the drunk, waits for Santa Claus on the roof, armed with a sniper rifle. When he falls and Edd laughs at his pain, Tom angrily leaves and stays, calling everything stupid. He suddenly runs into Zanta Claws, who takes him for a ride on his sleigh. Zanta tries to team up with Tom, but Tom doesn't listen and eventually lets Zanta fall off the sled. He then dresses up as Santa Claus and uses the sleigh and his weapons to destroy Christmas once and for all. He even shoots the real Santa. Meanwhile, Edd, Matt, Zanta and Santa team up to stop Tom, using Zanta's robot Boxmas. As Tom sings his rap song "Christmas Demolition", Zanta is pulled onto his sleigh to engage in a guitar duel with Tom. However, the rest of the gang shoots at the sleigh in the meantime, causing it to explode. Then Tom ends up in a wheelchair.

In Tom's Tales of Brilliance, Tom falls off a cliff while skiing and becomes a ghost. He then goes to the National Card Stacking Championship in Canada, where he uses his invisibility to look up a woman's skirt, which gives him an erection. The same episode also presents Tom as a very rude person: he throws a cork at a trombone while yelling at it, closes the door on Christmas carols (in keeping with his deep hatred of Christmas), and yells at some children to get out of his room. grass. Sometimes Tom is very malicious. Although Tom and Tord lived under the same roof (until Tord moved out), they had a history of rivalry. It all started when Tom called Tord a communist and Tord called Tom a Jehovah's Witness (who he actually is). In Ruined, Tom mocks Tord ("In your face, Tord!"), because Edd chose him to go with him when the gang had to split up. In 25 Feet Under the Seat, Tom says "Bye" to Tord as he leaves, causing Tord to back his car toward Tom. In "The End", Tord calls Tom "Classic Stupid Tom", causing Tom to leave the house (however, Edd later said "Yes. Classic Stupid Tom", calling him by the same name). Tom has a better relationship with Edd. Although there have been many episodes where the two have been shown to fight. An example of this was the short "The Best of the Worst Collide", where he and Edd fight in a random abandoned building. Despite their good relationship, In Ruined, Edd accidentally broke Tom's bass and tried to hide it from him by burying it. When Tom found out, he was shocked. Tom also admitted many times that he hates Edd, but Edd doesn't like Tom very much either, as he always thinks, it's better that something happens to Tom than to him.

Tom and Matt have a slightly more questionable relationship. Matt tried to kill Tom several times. In the Halloween 05 special, he did it. In Fun Dead, Matt requested that if he didn't survive, his novelty toy collection would be given to Tom, but Tom said that if HE didn't survive, he wanted to burn his novelty toy collection. Tom also said several times that he hates Matt, and that possibly makes Matt hate Tom too, but that's not certain. Although Tom later says that Matt is fine, he could have just said because he was drunk.

Tom's parents

In "Fun Dead", Tom's "mother" was a bowling ball and Tom's "father" was a pineapple, which explains the lack of eyes and spiky hair. In a flashback to "25ft Under the Seat", Tom's "father" was drawn as a watermelon.

Alternative forms: Future Tom

Future Tom is a counterpart to the original Tom from a future where Coca Cola was banned for being considered a drug. He is part of the entourage of the Red Leader of the Future. He makes his debut in "WTFuture" where he travels back in time with Future!Matt to stop Future!Edd from committing paradoxical suicide.

Tamara comes from an alternate dimension, where everyone changes their gender roles, this being Tom's female counterpart. She is friends with Ell (Edd's counterpart), Matilda (Matt's counterpart), and possibly an enemy of Tori (Tord's counterpart). He makes his debut in "Mirror Mirror."

Tommie is a parody of Tom made by Ukinojoe. He is the American version of Tom, where he is black, has a beard, wears a blue Adidas jacket, and a cap with the Monster energy drink logo. He seems like the typical rapper stereotype. Apparently, he is a womanizer and loves to make fun of Mattie, (American version of Matt).

In Poweredd, you can see that Tom, after being hit by Eduardo, transforms into a huge monster with dark skin, purple/magenta horns, a single completely black eye, and sharp claws and teeth. The reason for his transformation is unknown, however it is suspected that Tord had something to do with it, since in his secret laboratory a plan with a drawing of Monster Tom could be seen. Due to how he behaved in the eddisode, it is seen that he is very violent and aggressive in that way. This form of Tom has also appeared in other series made by Tomska, such as Crash Zoom.
