Luxanna - or Lux as she prefers to be called - grew up in the Demacian city of High Silvermere with her older brother Garen. Like her brother, she was the heiress of a noble family of Crown Guardians who protected the king. While Garen dedicated himself to serving his country from an early age, Lux was forced to manage her family's estates, which had no interest in her. She was always curious and rebellious, wanting to know what lay beyond the walls of Demacia. Magic has been considered evil in Demacian culture ever since the magic of the Rune Wars nearly destroyed Valoran, and Lax's fear has grown since the traumatic moment when her uncle was killed by a rogue mage. One night, she was attacked by a pack of saber-tooth wolves, and she ended up releasing a spark of light, scaring them away. Lux was frightened by this discovery, fearing that the magic might corrupt her. She practiced her magic privately and kept her abilities a secret from everyone. When she was sixteen, Lux traveled with her parents Peter and Augusta to witness Garen's acceptance into the Dauntless Vanguard. They then moved to the capital of Demacia, which she admired due to all the aspects of Demacia that her family believed in. She learned of the Illuminators, a religious order that cared for citizens and even secretly hosted mages. Lux believes that the Demacian path is not the only one, and it would be better if Demacia became more tolerant of mages like herself.

One day, Lux learned of a criminal named Silas, who was locked in a Demacian prison for magicians. She would regularly sneak out at night and negotiate with the guards at Silas's cell to speak with him, where he would talk about his past and help Lux control her magic in exchange for giving him information. They became fast friends, and Silas affectionately called her "Spark." He eventually learned that the petritz (a stone used in Demacian technology and architecture that stops magic) instead stores magic and is capable of releasing all of it when overloaded with too much magic. All he had to do was touch Lux again to absorb her magic into his shackles. Eventually, Lux and Silas' secret meetings were discovered, and Silas was sent to execution. Lux tried to stop the execution, arguing that Silas was human and deserved better than to be ostracized for his abilities. Silas apologized to "Little Light" before touching her and releasing a magical blast that killed many people on the scene. Silas freed the imprisoned mages and organized a dangerous riot that put many lives at risk. He planned to destroy the royal castle (since it was made entirely of petricite) and publicly humiliate King Jarvan III, but to everyone's shock, the king had already been killed. Instead, he decided to humiliate his son Jarvan IV, but Lux stopped him by shooting him with a crossbow. Silas was shocked that his only friend attacked him, but Garen engaged him in battle. Silas managed to defeat Garen, but Lux begged him to spare her brother. He accepted Lux's request and left Demacia with the escaped mages through the sewer system. Demacia was never the same after this when Jarvan IV rescinded the trust his father had placed in the mages and supported the service of the Mageseekers. Lux found a family of magicians who were initially afraid that she would betray them,

but she gained their trust and led them into the Demacian sewers. As soon as they stumbled upon the rubble near the exit, Garen found Lux ​​and became disillusioned with her. With no other choice, Lux used her magic in front of her brother to free the mages. He recognized that Lux was a mage, but also a Demacian, so he would support her services to save the other mages from the conflict.

Personality

Lux has an energetic and optimistic personality, she is happy and constantly finds humor. However, in more serious situations, Lux's appearance drops and she finds herself constrained and worried about her magic and being discovered. She wishes for mages to be accepted into Demacia and opposes the persecution of their Mageseekers simply because of their abilities, sympathizing with Silas for being unjustly imprisoned. When he betrayed her and started his rebellion, Lux saw him as the danger that he truly was, although after the rebellion she decided to help the innocent mages secretly escape Demacia and join Silas's camp, as being under his rule would be better than being trapped from a nation that saw them only as criminals.

The name Lux means "light" in Latin. Lucian and Aluna have the same origin. Lux's ultimate ability is a reference to Marisa Kirisama from the Touhou Project and her final move, Spark.
