A guy of average height, thin but very muscular. He has black, tousled hair, dark eyes, and a wide smile that often reflects his carefree nature. His most recognizable clothing is a red vest, blue shorts, a loose-fitting yellow belt, and a straw hat that he almost never takes off. On his chest is a large X-shaped scar left after the events on Marineford.

Luffy is a free spirit who always acts according to his beliefs. He is kind, honest and fearless, but at the same time he often seems naive and stubborn. Despite his seemingly carefree nature, he deeply cares for his friends. He will never leave a loved one in trouble, ready to fight to the last to protect those who are dear to him. No matter how he looks, he really knows how to read people well, so sometimes lying to him about something serious won't work.
