She has brown skin with noticeable - though sometimes inconsistent - tan lines in the shape of her swimsuit, and large, expressive amber-maroon eyes. She has a metallic piercing on her upper right ear and both of her lobes are pierced, despite this she rarely wears earrings.[12] Compared to other characters, she is exceptionally small, although it has been hinted that she may have a late growth spurt[13] and she actually grew several inches during winter.[14] Nagatoro has a lean, athletic, slender and very flexible[15] physique with a modest bust size which she is often ashamed about despite being - considering her size and build - pretty average sized;[16] also she seemingly gained a bra cup as the story progressed.[17] Nagatoro is rarely seen without a sadistic, cocky, smirk that often displays her very prominent canines[18] and has the tendency to widen the pupil of just an eye whenever she grins.[19] She typically wears her school uniform consisting of a white button-up shirt (whose sleeves and collar she never keeps buttoned) and a navy blue skirt completed with a pair of sneakers and no socks. Nagatoro comes off as an energetic, cheerful, sarcastic, flirtatious, prone to fast-talking, and moving individual with a sadistic streak. She likes to bully Senpai and finds joy in teasing him, however, although she appears to just want to torture him, there seems more to it than that. In early chapters her antics could easily be described as "sadistic", frequently making Senpai cry,[29][30] but she soon begins to develop feelings for the boy, and even apologized for "doing messed up stuff" to him, and asked him why he didn't stand up to her.[31] Since then her bullying has mellowed out, and she even frequently acts outwardly friendly to Senpai, despite continuing to call him a "creep". She is also very athletic, loves the beach, is a fantastic swimmer and a superb skier[64] as well as having a huge passion and proficiency in various styles of martial arts; she shows her willingness to train Senpai after his poor performance at a marathon and easily outpaces him during their training run.[65] Apparently, Nagatoro doesn't like shoes, as she rarely wears socks[66] and is frequently barefoot when she can get away with it.Trivia While first explaining how to write her name, Nagatoro said the first kanji means "long" (長, naga) while the second, (瀞, toro), is actually pretty uncommon and doesn't have a proper translation.[67] Her first name, Hayase (早瀬, Hayase) was revealed to the readers (and Senpai) in Chapter 62 by her sister.[68] It means "waterfall" and it's composed of the kanji for "already, now" (早, haya) and "shallows" (瀬, se). Her nickname is a slang contraction, written in hiragana, of "Hayase-chan" (はやせちゃん, Hayase-chan) which becomes "Hayase-chan" (はやせちゃん, Hayase-chan) and thus "Hayacchi" (はやっち, Hayatchi). It could be roughly translated as "little Haya". Her last name might be a reference to Nagatoro Station in Saitama prefecture. Although Nagatoro is noticeably darker than most other characters, it is implied to be just a tan from her swimming club activities, as evidenced by tan lines in the shape of her swimsuit. Also, in Issue 4 of the Webcomic, set in winter, she's a lighter shade. It's implied by the initial chapter's extras that Nagatoro may have ended up bullying Senpai unintentionally to begin with, as she wonders whether she came off too strong and brusque against him from being overexcited. This also implied that she approached Senpai with the intention of being flirtatious but she went overboard and that she has liked him since the beginning of the story. She's sometimes drawn with noodly arms when she gets playful with Senpai, turning into what fans call "Noodletoro". Not knowing their respective names in the first two chapters Senpai only referred to Nagatoro as "that girl" or "kōhai" (meaning "junior", the opposite of "senpai"). Later, she formally introduced to Senpai in Chapter 3 telling him her surname and saying she doesn't care about knowing his real name, as she was fine with calling him just "senpai". Since then, the protagonists began to refer to one another as "Nagatoro" and "Senpai" respectively. However, since in Side Story 5 (chronologically placed before Chapter 35) she read Senpai's midterm test, which had his name written on it, it could be assumed Nagatoro knew his real name as of that moment or maybe even prior to it. On the other hand, Nagatoro's friends constantly called her "Hayacchi" in front of Senpai, with the first time being Chapter 11, suggesting he found out her first name on that occasion. Despite this, in Chapter 58 Senpai seems oblivious to Nagatoro's first name and eventually found it out only in Chapter 62. She is a fan of horror movies, especially with vampires.[69] After having dreamed of her in a cat-like form in Chapter 9, Senpai started to associate Nagatoro to a cat in his subconscious, even going so far as to assume out of nowhere that she actually has a pet cat, which in Chapter 18 is revealed not to be the case. The cat-version of Nagatoro, originally dubbed Nekotoro (猫瀞, Nekotoro), was then drawn by Senpai in Chapter 14 and on the said basis a costume was made on Chapter 36 during the "Culture Festival Arc", being officially re-named Toro-Cat (トロキャット, Torokyatto) in Chapter 44. Nagatoro usually doesn't play video games and is quite poor at them.[70] Both Nagatoro and Gamo-chan share a love for Marlowe pudding, and apparently is often the prize for the many bets and competitions that their friendly rivalry is composed of.[71] Nagatoro likes pollack roe and spicy food,[72] a flavor that she loves on any kind of food, including ice cream.[73] Also, her favourite dishes at the sushi restaurants are negitoro maki[74] and maguro nigiri,[75] while her favourite snacks are koshian and the one she dislikes is tsubuan.[76] She also has a passion for tomato juice, being her typical drink of choice.[77][78][79] Despite that she once stated she dislikes yakisoba[80] apparently, after she helped her club to organize a yakisoba stand for the Cultural Festival as they did every year due to a 20 years tradition[81] she started to like it, joking about buying 100 takoyaki and 100 yakisoba to bring them home and freeze them in order to eat them every day.[82] Even in the video game, Escape from the Room with my Kōhai, a cup of yakisoba is what the player gave to the character in order to cheer her up. Yoshi is one of the secondary characters of the anime/manga series Don't Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro. She is a high school student and one of Nagatoro's friends. Yoshi is a simple-minded and somewhat childlike air-headed girl as well as a sort of sidekick within the 'cool kids' clique, which Gamo-chan, Sakura and Nagatoro herself are part of.
