Regulus always seems to have things very clear. He grows up in an environment that day by day conditions the way his character and way of seeing things. And that's why, since Sirius ended up in Gryffindor, the differences between them have caused them to distance themselves to the point of not being able to stand each other most of the time. He had been taught that he should not ask for forgiveness when he did something that he considered was right, and that was how he had grown up.
