Valerius: Valerius is a relatively young Consul, always seen in an elegant robe that reveals much of his status. He rarely appears without a glass of wine in his hand. His long black ombre hair is woven into a braid that is draped over his shoulder. He wears a dark beige and white robe with shiny golden ties and lining, while a dark shawl is wrapped around his shoulders. The shawl is adorned with what appears to be a golden ram head, perhaps alluding to some closeness to one of the major arcana, the Hierophant. While generally calm and collected in public, Valerius has proven to be a ruthless conspirator, wishing to take control of Vesuvia from Nadia. When his plans go awry, he is quick to lose his temper. In Nadia's route (Chapter II of Book VI - The Lovers), he seems strangely interested in the apprentice; the expression on his face is described as 'morbid curiosity.'

Vulgora:

Vulgora is rowdy, loud, and volatile with a short temper to match. They have an obsession with destruction and violence, and the only thing that truly interests them is war and similar violent entertainment, such as the fights in the Coliseum which they are very enthusiastic about. Despite calling them nothing but a warmonger, Nadia cannot help but admit their vigor on the battlefield has been most valuable to Vesuvia. Vulgora is a stubby person of pallid complexion. Their cheeks are flushed pink, and their eyes are bright yellow and slitted, a feature shared with the other courtiers. Their clothing consists almost entirely of the color red, except for a dark coat and embellishments of gold, making them stand out harshly. They wear a complex headdress resembling a pair of horns and a ruby beetle brooch attached to their red neck scarf. Their puffy sleeves end in a pair of clawed metal gauntlets.

Vlastomil:

Praetor Vlastomil is one of the five members of the Countess' court. He acts as a magistrate of the city-state of Vesuvia. His patron arcana is Justice. His hair (or what's left of it) is grey and his eyes are pale and discolored. His ears are slightly pointed. He wears what appears to be a court dress with a red beetle brooch clasped to a white shawl. He also wears a black and white Tudor bonnet with a large gray feather attached. His demonic form resembles a large, glistening worm with a facsimile of his face attached to a long neck, and large, spindly hands. After being unbound by the Devil's chains in Nadia's route, Vlastomil becomes more human looking. The color returns to his skin and eyes, and his ears become rounded. To say Vlastomil is very keen on worms is an understatement. A "worm genius" by his own accord, he made a deal with the Devil to devote an eternity to his worm-passion. His estate is just one giant vermitarium with a multitude of worm statues decorating the exterior and a myriad of rooms designated as a habitat for worms of all types and sizes. As a side project, he has a room for the infamous red beetles, as well as a room full of butterflies, the most pleasant of any of his pets. Anything that does not involve worms holds little interest for Vlastomil. He shows great excitement in holding conversations regarding his worms, shown during his conversation with Nasmira. However, other matters, even those of importance, are either ignored or handled poorly by Vlastomil. Valdemar:

Valdemar is fairly tall and thin and has sickly greenish skin and red lizard-like eyes. They have horn-like bandages on the top of their head, completely covering what would presumably be their hair. Their most notable feature is their razor sharp teeth that are visible when they smile without their surgical mask on. They dress in a white doctor's uniform that has a red beetle brooch at the neck, matching the other courtiers (with the exception of Consul Valerius). They wear an apron with a pocket full of surgical tools and long black gloves. Their true form is one of many horrors, described as a shape that the apprentice can't even begin to understand. They're an undulating mass, their surface boiling with clusters of eyes, teeth, and rib bones emerging from within and dissolving back into it. They also have possibly numerous long, terrible, blade-like limbs. As their human form is merely a veil that covers their monstrous form, they are able to choose the form and height they want to be, though the 'hat' they wear adds onto their height. They have a sadistic and morbid personality. The dungeons, that they have kept secret from others, is filled with vivisection and dissection tables, cages to hold patients in, and a pit to throw the bodies when they are no longer useful. They aren't above torture, and note that they don't need a reason for torture because what they do stems from a love for science and that they take a pride in their work. They are fascinated by the plague, and are sad to see it is gone. The Apprentice notices their eyes shine with a fell glee when they talk about corpses. They are the most independent of the courtiers and refuse to listen to Countess Nadia and Procurator Volta multiple times. He is not much more than a hollowed-out shell of his former self, representing only reversed traits of his patron arcana. Valdemar is fascinated by the Apprentice and analyzes them like a new specimen. They were friendly in their first meeting in Nadia's

Volta:

Volta is a short woman with tiny features. Under her baggy clothes, she is very thin. She has curly, reddish-brown hair that pokes out from beneath her hat, and her skin is a sickly greyish color. Among her most notable features, she has a sharp snaggle-tooth sticking up from her bottom lip, as well as a lazy right eye that is completely white in color, appearing to be blind. Her left eye is a tawny brown color. She wears a large black robe with a white turtleneck and a white cornette hat, giving her a resemblance to a nun. She has a red beetle broach clasped to her chest, adorned with two dangling ornaments. Volta's demonic form is a small, furry creature with wings in place of ears and the tail feathers of a bird. The creature has a large, gaping mouth with rows of jagged teeth and rib bones covering the chest. When freed from the Devil's chains in Nadia's route, Volta becomes more human in appearance. Volta is always, always hungry, and this fuels her motivations throughout the story. She is always looking for a chance to eat, whether it be red beetles or a fancy feast with the countess. She isn't very patient and is rather whiny, especially when she knows there is food around and she can't find it. She doesn't appear to have personal boundaries, and is quick to get very up close and personal with the apprentice and other characters, sniffing them and even sneezing right on the Apprentice's wrist. However, she is very meek and can be easily intimidated. This has caused her to be controlled by her fellow courtiers. She goes along with their plans and machinations, despite not wishing harm on the countess, due to her insatiable hunger. Despite this, she does not appear to be as malicious as the other courtiers and holds no love for them, quick to side herself with the apprentice in several routes.
