Spooky is a small floating ghost, with light blue skin, oval-shaped black eyes, and long dark blue hair. He has quite simple and rounded features. In the base game, he wears a tattered, sleeveless, sky blue dress. Spooky can also be seen in various mini-games as sprites with very little change to her overall appearance, although she can be seen wielding an oversized Bowie knife.
Rooms
In the first 50 rooms, no monsters or death traps appear, and the only jump scares are the Specimen 1s, which may cause one to completely drop their guard. The first and only indicator that things are not as they seem are the notes that appear randomly on Specimen 1 and furniture which tell ominous accounts of the previous travelers of the mansion. Once the player reaches Room 50, which is an elevator, they are rewarded with a save point before pressing the button and continuing to the next floor. This is where things begin to change. Rooms 51-99 In this section, dark maze-like rooms surrounded by abysses begin to appear, as well as out of place objects such as the Brainframe Room. Room 60. However, the real scares don't begin until the player reaches Room 60, a room with a mysterious black and green puddle in the center, and a note on a table written in blood. Once the player puts the note down, a loud choking sound is heard; this is the indicator that Specimen 2, the first hostile enemy in the game, has appeared. The player is then chased by Specimen 2 through several rooms, which during the pursuit, have slime puddles on the floor that slow the player down and increase the chances of getting caught. In the HD Renovation, Specimen 2 emerges from the slime puddle in the middle of the room instead of coming in through the door. Once the chase ends, the rooms continue as normal until the next chase, or until Room 100, which is another save room/elevator. If the player does not wish to read the note and solely wishes to continue, the game will prevent them, as text will appear saying "Maybe I should look around." At Room 120, the player will enter an area of the GL Testing Labs. One may access the right-side door and the door at the far end of the hall, however, the door to the left will always be locked. The room on the right is a hallway full of glass tanks with creepy "subjects" inside, one of which is broken and the creature inside missing. Here, the player

Specimens 1, 2, or 3 can return to keep the player on their toes until they reach Room 165 (160-167 in the HD Renovation): the abandoned Japanese school. School Hallway The school's hallway. The atmosphere changes drastically, and the player now carries a flashlight. In the classrooms, shadow figures stand idle and will hurt the player if touched. They are only visible when the player shines the flashlight on them. Notes are spread around on the different desks. They talk about a ghost who eats tardy children, including a child called Matsuri. Upon getting to the exit, Specimen 4 appears behind the player and the chase starts. Specimen 4 is not visible in Room 165 unless the player shines the flashlight on her. Otherwise, she's always visible. In the HD Renovation, after Room 161, the school rooms are randomly generated until Room 167, where Specimen 4's chase starts. The flashlight effect with Specimen 4 is not present. When the player reaches Room 200, they will find an elevator with a save point again.
Specimen 1
Specimen 1 (A.K.A. Cardboard Cutouts) are harmless entities randomly encountered throughout Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion. Appearance Specimen 1 takes the form of different cardboard cutouts. There is a green tentacled creature; a faded version of the green tentacled creature; a light-blue, teardrop-shaped ghost; a skeleton; a purple spider with blue spots; a pumpkin; a tree stump; a purple cloud-like creature; a brown cup filled with coffee; a frowning piece of toast; an ice cream cone; a bloody skull; a red pepper with arms; and a distorted version of the green tentacle creature. The distorted version of the tentacle creature has black, sunken-in eyes with small pupils, a dirty face, and long, sharp teeth. There are stains on its face which appear to be blood. Each version of this specimen (save for the toast, the distorted version of the green tentacle creature, and the bloodied skull) has a simple, happy face. In Endless Mode, another nineteen variants appear alongside the others. These are: an eggplant; a donut; a tooth; a bar of soap; a lollipop; a sticky note with "To-Do" written on it; a moose; a content potato; a bored bucket; a cake; a boot; a cat-shaped slime; a piece of candy corn; a pale, smiling humanoid with a luminescent blush and messy black hair; a tall, thin creature with a small face; a purple monster with a smiling tongue; a thin, monstrous face; a white toothy-smiled face, and a toaster pastry.
Specimen 2
Specimen 2 (A.K.A. Gel) is the first hostile enemy to be encountered in Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion. It first appears in Room 60. Appearance Specimen 2 is a semi-solid, humanoid figure that is dark-green in color with a bright green outline. Various bits of its body appear to be of a gel-like substance, while the rest is solid. It has a somewhat emaciated appearance, shown by its protruding rib cage and collar bones. It lacks a face, save for a lipless, open mouth, which shows its long teeth. It has no legs or feet, and its torso simply extends downwards, ending in a rounded shape. Its left hand is always held up, as if reaching for the player, while the right arm ends in a rounded stump at the wrist.
Specimen 3
Specimen 3 (A.K.A. Subject 5 / Giant Centipede) is a hostile enemy in Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion, encountered in the first GL Labs facility starting at Room 120. Appearance Specimen 3 is a dark brown arthropod-like creature with a hard, shiny exoskeleton. Its body is similar to that of a centipede, while its face is more reminiscent of a spider's. Its body has four distinct segments, each with a pair of legs. Specimen 3's front-most segment has eight round, greenish eyes, and bears five sets of pincers.
Specimen 4
Specimen 4 (A.K.A. Ringu) is a hostile enemy in Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion. The player first encounters her starting at Room 165. Appearance Specimen 4 appears to be an adolescent female with long, messy, black hair and pure-white skin. She has solid black eyes and an abnormally wide mouth with black lips. She wears a plain, light-gray garment with wrist-length sleeves and a white sash around her waist. Her fingers extend into long sharp claws that are stained blood-red. Her legs from the knee down are visible, revealing them to be black. In Endless Mode, she gains two additional forms. The first form is a more realistic and sinister version of her original design. Her face is much more detailed with large black eyes and blood around her lips. Her hair, skin, and dress remain largely the same, but now they are more detailed, with her dress being stained with blood and her belt turning red. Her hands now have long, bony fingers covered in blood, rather than the original form's claws. Lastly, her legs now match the color of her body instead of the original black color. Her third form is very similar to her second form. The two biggest differences is her mouth is now hanging agape, showing long sharp teeth and a pointy tongue. She also has two extra pairs of twisted arms sprouting out from her back. In this form, her body and head contort and shake violently.
Specimen 5
Specimen 5 (A.K.A. Bab) is a hostile enemy in Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion. It is first encountered at Room 210. Appearance Specimen 5 is a faceless, humanoid creature that is entirely pale. Its body appears feminine, and it wears no clothes or accessories of any kind. Certain areas of its body, such as its face and limbs, also carry darker shades, presumably from lighting. Natural marks are visible across Specimen 5's body, signifying age in an organic or inorganic way. Its texture is similar in appearance to substances such as paper, clay, parchment, and wood. The Specimen also lacks hands with its arms ending in stubs. It carries a red-brown blade attached to its right arm which appears to be tipped with blood.
Specimen 6
Specimen 6 (A.K.A. The Merchant) is a hostile enemy encountered in Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion. He is first encountered at Room 310. Appearance Specimen 6 is a wooden, life-sized puppet. His eyes are pure white with no irises or pupils, and his face usually bears a wide, toothy grin. Specimen 6 wears a simple brown tunic with a brown belt, grey tights, and black shoes. He carries a long, thin, silver blade (likely a needle) and has thin strings attached to his arms and back. Though his face initially bears a smile, he can suddenly switch to a frighteningly angry face at random intervals. Gameplay Introduction The player first encounters Specimen 6 in Room 310. He will be standing right in the middle of the room as if to greet the player. Astute players will notice that Specimen 6, at first, does not seem to move, but will turn to continuously face the player. This is because he does not move while he is within the player's sight.
Specimen 7
Specimen 7 is a hostile enemy in Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion, first encountered at Room 411, which from the player's perspective, spans several rooms. Appearance Specimen 7 from the player's perspective, resembles a large, moving, red and black wall of distorted corpses. Gameplay Upon closing to the end of Room 410, The White Cat appears in a dark room, which has an illuminated door at its other end, to give the player a cryptic warning. Upon entering the door, the player sees themselves in a blood red, rotating hallway. After exiting this hallway, Specimen 7 will start chasing the player. From that point on, the player must run through a series of twisted maze-like corridors with shifting images along the walls, created by the player's mind under the influence of Specimen 7. The chase sequence will end at Room 430. Though slow, Specimen 7 kills the player immediately upon contact.
Specimen 8
Specimen 8 (A.K.A. Deer Lord) is a hostile enemy encountered in Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion. It is first encountered at Room 559. Appearance Specimen 8 is a floating, demonic, deer-like entity wearing a long black cloak. Its antlers are long, somewhat symmetrical, sharp, and spider-like, lacking the beam-and-tine structure typical of most deer. Specimen 8 has two eyes with white pupils and black scleras, and it lacks a lower jaw. It also has abnormally sharp and jagged teeth jutting down from the top jaw. The cloak is sleeveless and even when open reveals no limbs, as Specimen 8's body comprises a set of human rib bones underneath which lies a host of screaming faces fading into the darkness. Gameplay Introduction Specimen 8 is encountered for the first time after a sequence of forest and cabin-like rooms filled with violent deer, starting from Room 550 and ending at Room 558. At the end of Room 558, the player reaches a room with two doors at both sides, and a dead-end shrouded in darkness in front of them, from which Specimen 8 emerges and begins the chase.
Specimen 9
Specimen 9 (A.K.A. Taker) is a hostile enemy and the secondary antagonist in Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion. Appearance Specimen 9 appears to be a black and red, realistic looking humanoid skull with what seem to be collar bones extending down the rest of its "torso", with studs where its limbs had once presumably been. It is likely the incomplete skull of its boss form, after GL Labs failed to kill it. Gameplay Starting from Room 51, players may occasionally enter a room with three paths: A door to the left, a dead end to the right, and a long dark hallway straight ahead. After travelling down the long dark hallway for a while, the walls will gradually close in on the player until they can no longer move. After another second or two, Specimen 9 will appear at the end of the hall and turn and quickly rush to the player, filling the screen with its face at the time of contact. Most of the screen becomes red, with a huge wall of text composed solely of "TO TAKE THE DEAD", which references the fact that Specimen 9 "takes the dead", at least according to the CAT-DOS. Aside from this, Specimen 9 can appear in any room if the player stays idle for two minutes. In this game, being idle counts as not using the movement keys (WASD or arrow keys), attacking, pressing the sprint key (SHIFT), interacting (E/Spacebar) or pausing for two minutes straight; moving the mouse and reading a note does count as being idle, however. If this happens, Specimen 9's chase theme will start playing before appearing from the room's entrance door and will begin to chase the player. It moves quickly and through walls, dealing 60 damage upon contact. In similar fashion to Specimen 5, the player will only die if their health is below 45 when hit. If not, the player will have negative health if hit when their health is between 45 and 60. Specimen 9 will not move or appear when the game is paused. In Karamari Hospital or Endless Mode, Specimen 9 will not appear. It can appear in The Doll House.
Specimen 10
Specimen 10 (A.K.A. Parasite) is a hostile enemy in Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion. It is first encountered at Room 617. Specimen 10 is a parasitic alien life form. Before encountering the player, this creature lived inside the old Specimen 10. It was the cause of the abandonment of the GL Labs's facility starting from Room 610. Appearance Specimen 10 has two forms: The first form resembles an armless humanoid figure with a deformed upper body that seems to be composed of two parts: The yellowish organic layer that covers the entire upper body, and the main body with no arms and bare humanoid legs. This appearance is also included in its form where its torso opens up into two parts that make an opening with small teeth surrounding the inside walls of its apparent mouth. The second form resembles a large (albeit small compared to the player), leech-like creature. This form retains the same colors as the former. Similar to the old Specimen 10, this form is divided into separate segments, which slither along the ground. The inside of this form has at least two visible sets of teeth.
Specimen 13
Specimen 13 (A.K.A Mermaid[1]) is the penultimate Specimen the player encounters in Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion. She first appears in Room 910. Appearance Specimen 13 resembles a young white woman with shaggy, grey hair. Before the chase, she is seen sitting on a floating crate, with her back to the player, wearing a towel around her waist. She reveals her true form during her death screen, where she morphs into a black-eyed elderly woman with long sharp teeth. Gameplay Introduction Specimen 13 lurks within the flooded rooms of Room 910. She quietly sits on top of a floating crate. When the player gets too close, she will dive into the water and begin the chase.
Specimen 11
Specimen 11 (A.K.A. Food Demon) is a hostile enemy in Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion. It is first encountered at Room 710. Appearance Specimen 11 is a floating, red humanoid creature with a demonic appearance. Its eyeless head bears two large horns. Specimen 11 also has long claws at the ends of its fingers and lacks clothing. Not only is its head eyeless, but it also appears to be lacking both ears, a nose, and a mouth of any kind. Specimen 11's eye sockets leak blood down its face. Gameplay Introduction Specimen 11 is introduced at the conclusion of Room 710, immediately after obtaining the exit key in the restaurant's freezer. Specimen 11 will spawn near the restaurant's entrance and will immediately give chase after a sound cue. Specimen 11 will continue chasing the player for several rooms and return at any random time following it.
Specimen 12
In regard to the mansion, the player will no longer have to interact with the stairs to get to the bedrooms. They also have railings. The peppers that were on the table of the dining hall have been removed. The Old Man has a new voice actor, voice lines, and a fully animated 3D model. He will sometimes speak in a low demonic voice when chasing the player outside of Specimen 12. He also makes footstep sounds when moving. Gameplay Chase He walks faster upon exiting Room 810 and no longer rushes the player if they're not hiding, giving them time to do so instead of an instant game over. He will keep chasing the player from the basement up to Room 810's exit instead of chasing just in the basement and then suddenly reappearing in the dining hall. As of the Summer 2019 update, he can now sprint. He starts off with 0 stamina and after a while it will begin to rise up. Once it hits 100, he will dash towards the player while making Howard's jump scare sound. His sprinting speed while inside Room 810 is the same as the player's walking speed, but outside it is faster the player's own sprint speed, although it lasts for a short amount of time.
