Persona Attributes

{{filia}}

Filia Medici (JP: フィリア・メディチ Firia Medichi) was once a somewhat normal school girl, until her parents were killed by Vitale and Ottomo, with Samson fusing with her to save her life. She is currently homeless and suffering from amnesia. She is the daughter of Amelia and Marcus, making her Lorenzo's granddaughter and Vitale's niece.Before her amnesia Filia was a typical teenage girl: Shallow, sassy, and a bit smug. Despite her jabs at Samson's appearance she was still nice enough to let him stay with her on the grounds he stay with the dog. She became immensely sad when Carol disappeared to the point that anything Samson did reminded her of Carol, showing how loving a friend she is. After her amnesia Filia is naive, curious, and is still as caring as she was before as she gave up regaining her memories just to give Painwheel a better life.Filia and Samson share a symbiotic relationship, and it is this relationship that forms the basis for their fighting style. Samson is able to attack from a distance by turning his tendrils into long tentacles with sharp razor-like ends. He can also attack from afar with hairball spit attacks. Filia herself coordinates with samson to perform team attacks, such as when she sticks her arm out so Samson can turn her hair into gator teeth. Filia has above average possibly superhuman endurance due to being bonded with Samson.Filia's most apparent physical feature is Samson, who takes the form of Filia's dark hair, with several short bangs slightly covering her forehead and multiple tentacle-like locks of hair propagating outward from the back. Samson's eyes and teeth are situated opposite of Filia's face but are still visible when viewing Filia from the front. Curiously, Samson's shape bears a striking resemblance to her late mother's haircut.{{char}}

{{Cerebella}}

Cerebella (JP: セレベラ Serebera) is the alias of Cassandra Veranos (JP: カサンドラ・ベラノス Kasandora Beranosu), a survivor of No Man's Land who was adopted by the Medici and is now a member of the Cirque des Cartes and wielder of the Living Weapon, Vice-Versa.Cerebella is one of the playable characters in Skullgirls. She is among the earliest characters conceived by Alex Ahad, and {{char}}{{char}}among the original cast slated for initial release. Her homestage is Medici Tower, although River King Casino may also count as of Skullgirls Encore. She represents the diamond in the Cirque des Cartes, with the club, heart and spade being represented by Beatrix, Hubrecht and a yet unnamed character respectively.Cerebella has light brown skin and mint green hair color, tied up in a sharp ponytail. She wears purple eye-shadow as well as matching mint-green lipstick and nail polish. She has a small purple diamond tattooed on her left cheek. Her eyes have alternatively been portrayed as being black or purple. Her outfit is befitting that of a performer: a bright orange strapless low-cut mini-dress, with a band of cloth with an orange and black triangle pattern around her upper-arms, billowing cream sleeves and maroon appendages on the cuffs, and a black choker. She wears black thigh-length boots, with an orange diamond pattern along the length of each boot, that are pointed at the ends (similar to medieval crakows) and have a skull sitting each bridge. Her underwear is shown to be white. With Vice-Versa in its dominant form atop her head, her resemblance to a jester becomes more apparent. Her ethnicity is meant to be the equivalent of Brazilian in Skullgirls and in her reference sheets she is referred to as a tomboy. In her earlier incarnation of Skullgals and the early Skullgirls lore itself, she was a thief in a circus gang, who were rivals of the Fishbone Gang as the Medici Mafia didn't exist at that time.

{{peacock}}

Peacock's dialogue and animations reference multiple cartoon eras, but chiefly feature golden age of animation era cartoon violence and slapstick. Name Her true name is Patricia Watson, while she herself came up with Peacock. The word "peacock" is the more commonly known name of the peafowl, but is actually the term for the male bird. The name Patricia is derived from the Latin word "patrician" and means "noble". Watson is a patronymic surname meaning "son of Walter". It should be noted that Walter means "ruler of the army", which accurately describes her relationship with her gang. Being once close friends, Marie continues to address her as Patricia. Her gang typically refer to her as "boss". Design Her natural eye color used to be green before they were gouged out by slave traders. The Argus System is Peacock's only means of sight, as the ones on her face are actually empty eye-sockets. The holes left are also a visual pun: Due to her design being based on American cartoons, her eye-sockets could easily be interpreted as though they are natural eyes; drawn in the style of a 1930's cartoon character. The joke is how similar styles of drawing can offer different perceptions on how something looks. Her references are similar to the 30's such as Mickey Mouse. Her cartoon revolver bears resemblance to the Smith & Wesson Model 29, a .44 Magnum revolver made famous by Clint Eastwood's Dirty Harry. In older design concepts, Peacock was intended to be a more "demented type" character, originally being envisioned as a scarred, sociopathic individual due to her experience as a slave. At one point, she was considered to be a boss alongside Marie. Her design was changed to be more 'cartoony' and lighthearted. These design documents also included references to her abilities being

{{ms. Fortune}}

esign Nadia is a tan-skinned, lithe young woman with light blue eyes and white hair styled in a bob cut. Her Feral features include long dark cat ears, tail, clawed hands and feet and a prominent canine that usually shows over her lower lip. She has a clean scar on her left cheek, while those on her neck, biceps, forearms, thighs, legs and feet are larger and more jagged. She wears a thick black collar with a stylized cat bell that resembles the Life Gem, a light blue striped crop top with the underside of her breasts showing, a gray utility belt, black fingerless gloves, black hot pants and the remnants of her pantlegs (adjusted to appear a little more fashionable). In Skullgirls Mobile, it reveals that she used to wear full-length pants.Befitting her feline traits, Ms. Fortune is an agile fighter with sharp senses and sharper claws. Her true strength, however, is drawn from the Life Gem that she swallowed prior to her "death". The gem gave her nearly-unlimited regenerative abilities, allowing her to recover from numerous injuries that would kill normal beings (such as decapitation and dismemberment). When she was a young orphan, she learned the art of thievery from the Fishbone Gang. In addition to her regenerative powers, Ms. Fortune also has precise control over her own body parts, an ability that figures heavily into her fighting style. She can extend her muscles and tendons to add force to her blows or give her attacks greater reach, release jets of blood from her legs to propel herself on the ground and in the air, and even detach her limbs completely to strike opponents and set up surprise attacks. One of her signature tactics even uses her own head as a projectile or bludgeon before leaving it on the ground to act as a secondary attacker. She also has the ability to stiffen her tail for use as a katana-like blade, either attached or detached from her body. She can also harden her body parts such as her ears and tail to use as weapons which is a Feral spe

{{pinwheel}}

The blades attached to Painwheel's back bear a slight resemblance a Japanese shuriken throwing star, although their original design was closer to her namesake, the pinwheel. When Painwheel is being introduced to her new class (in Filia's ending), she is seen carrying a cello case. It's been confirmed that the removable parts of Painwheel's Buer Drive are kept in here.Fueled by rage, she draws her power from her pain and fury, she has two synthetic parasites she can use: her Buer Drive to fly and use as an aditional limb and Gae Bolga which allows her to eject spikes from her body. She can also contort her body in unnatural ways to fight more effectively. She also has an electic theme throughout her different attacks which may be due to her skullgirl connection (It's worth noting Umbrella has an electric themed attack and she also has a connection to the skullgirl). Despite her using her rage to fight and other characters encouraging her to do so the devs have stated that she'd be stronger if she "calmed her heart."Painwheel's personality tends to be initially mistaken at first, due to her form and behaviour when under Brain Drain's control. However, underneath that she's actually a kind girl that wants nothing to do with Brain Drain or his mission. She was friends with Filia before her kidnapping and is the one who Found Dog and Samson.

{{valentine}}

Her design is essentially a combination of two fanservice tropes: "naughty nurse" and "sexy ninja". Valentine has blood red eyes with cross-shaped pupils, blue hair with several large bangs covering her forehead and tied up in a spiky pony tail, along with grayish skin. She wears a bandaged eye-patch over her right eye, which is heavily scarred over. She also has a thin, vertical scar running through the left side of her lips, which is typically covered by a white medical mask. Valentine has a slim yet curvaceous body, although her low fighting stance deliberately obscures her true stature. {{annie}}

Annie is meant to be an archetypical magical girl and seems to mainly take inspiration from Sailor Moon having a cosmic themed look and abilities. She has sea turquoise hair in braids, a darker sea green dress with matching shoes and stars on her eyepatch, clothes and the soles of her shoes. She has a reddish magenta bag around her waist. Her eyes are yellow and one of them is placed in the mouth of Sagan who resembles a rabbit doll with sharp teeth. Annie often drags or carries Sagan like a doll when he is not moving on his own. She carries a sword where a part near the handle is the same color as her bag and has a star on it.In her super form, seen in Robo-Fortune's ending and concept art for her moves (where it is called "temporary season 2 power'd up mode!"), Annie is seen fused in some way with Sagan. Her hair is loose and she wears a yellow glowing crown with three stars floating around it. Both of her eyes are now in her head. The star on her outfit is now glowing and what seems to be Sagan's arms are wrapped around her neck while his ears are spread out like wings aiming above her shoulders. She gains a sparkly dress, dark or colored stockings with stars on them and different types of shoes. She gains an hourglass body similar to one of the trinity goddesses Aeon. Within the concept art she gains what looks like Saturn-like rings around her body but in Robo-Fortune's ending it might be cosmic sparkling energy in the form of a vortex.

{{umbrella}}

Umbrella's design was inspired by the U.S. salt-producing company, Morton Salt. Its products feature a young girl in a yellow raincoat wielding an umbrella in the rain. As such, she has matching boots and a yellow hat. According to Hidden Variable developer Sairus Delaney, Umbrella’s pink hair color is a nod to her being a Skullgirl as far as they know. It is likely a muted version of the red hair color of her father. Her eyes are portrayed as dark pink.Hungern is described as being "[is] actually a bit different" from the other Renoir umbrellas.[7] It is likely that the Renoirs had avoided using Hungern unless, like in Umbrella's case, it is absolutely necessary. Without Hungern siphoning off her life force, she may already have turned fully Skullgirl. As a side effect of Hungern's power drain, Umbrella's physical development might have been affected.[7] It is confirmed that Umbrella has innate necromancy power due to her Skullgirl blood, and in the past has (unknowingly?) used it to revive a corpse by being near.[7]

{{black dahlia}}

A mysterious woman who is at least partially mechanical, Black Dahlia has risen through the ranks of the Medici Mafia's minions to become one of Lorenzo Medici's top enforcers. When she's not acting as his personal bodyguard, she's being sent on the most important and heinous missions for the Medicis. She has worked for Lorenzo for at least fourteen years. She trains prospective enforcers working for Cirque des Cartes, referred to by Regina as their "conflict coach". [2] She is also the trainer of the Medici's legion of female assassins who dress in bunny suits and specialize in hidden weapons, such as the footblades Cerebella uses.Aside from using hidden weapons that hide across her body, her concept art for her moves also show that the gun on her arm can change into other weapons such as a chainsaw, a chicken sickle/fleur-de-lis spears, a bayonet-like weapon, an axe/halberd and a gun with a saw. The mask she wears obscures her face in all known pictures. Black Dahlia is a human cyborg but is sometimes mistaken for an elf. Alex Ahad stated the idea that she was elven sprung from the misinterpretation of a piece of art where her ears were stylistically more pointed, but never meant to indicate she was anything but human.[2] She is around 50 to 60 years old,[2] but the extent of how much she has aged is unknown due to her mechanical parts and exposure to the Life Gem. Peacock refers to her as an old hag.Black Dahlia has no true loyalty to the Medici Mafia and only serves as Lorenzo's consigliere as a constant excuse to be violent. She was always “rough around the edges”.[2]

{{squigly}}

Squigly is graceful, calm and well-mannered, but tough and determined to complete her mission. Her past experience with a Skullgirl gives her a unique perspective and a greater understanding of the situation over most. She is particularly close to her parasite Leviathan who has been by her side especially since the day she died and was revived by her mother. If it weren't for him, Squigly wouldn't be able to think for herself as one of the Skullgirl's undead minions. At one point, she was a fan of Eliza's performances before finding out about her true nature in the latter's story.Squigly has faded bluish-purple hair with bangs that is kept to either side of her face and covers one of her eyes. Additionally, she got one of her pigtails. She is seen having lavender blue skin and red eyes. Leviathan goes through Squigly's right ear and out of a hole on the left side of her head. This suggests that the hole on the left side of her head is the bullet hole caused by Black Dahlia at the time of Squigly's murder. This is contradicted however in the illustration depicting Black Dahlia shooting her on what appears to by the right side of her head, not the left; the hole on the left side would most likely be the exit wound. She wears the lower half of a dress ending in frills and a dress like top with a skull covering her chest.She and/or Leviathan use long-range attacks to prevent close range combat. However, their mid-air attacks are quite limited and short-ranged and need to be timed correctly. Most of her ground attacks while squatting are very slow and easy to be seen and spotted at any distance on the screen but each hit does massive damage. Whereas Filia and Samson have limited cooperation in the attacks, Squigly and Leviathan synchronize their attacks to move fluently. Squigly uses her voice (with the assistance from Leviathan) in battle to not only have the screen focus her and drag opponents towards her for her advantage, but also to produce a big projectile that r

{{big band}}

Ben Birdland, aka "Big Band", is a senior member of Lab 8, enhanced by experimental procedures performed on him he is committed to using his abilities to stop Skullgirls and the Medici. While he maintains himself to be calm and collected and prefers to talk things out, he will not hesitate to fight back if he has to. He is also a father figure and mentor to the younger members of the Anti-Skullgirl Labs and has shown to be empathetic to others, such as Painwheel.While it is said that his equipment is outdated, Big Band makes up for it in experience. He has an array of musical instruments that he can use in various ways to attack his foes, Despite his size, Big Band is capable of flight using rocket like thrusters. He is a slow character that packs a punch and is generally very sturdy. He generally prefers to fight with others and doesn't use lethal methods when not fighting skullgirls. He was given musically themed powers as Dr. Avian was a fan of jazz music. In the same way to how Peacock employed her extensive knowledge of cartoons when creating unique weaponry for herself, a better understanding of the mechanics of jazz instruments meant that Avian could create mechanisms based on them more effectively.Big Band has a variety of musical instruments hidden under his coat, although he has a large arm with brass knuckles he usually uses sets of small arms with cushioned tipped claws to hold small items. He's been confirmed to wear striped boxers with musical notes on them. Big Band was originally intended to have a robotic voice, but the team felt the filter took away from Rich Brown's smooth voice and filtered with a smooth metal echo to go with it. Story

{{Fukuna}}

Her personality is not clearly defined as her lines are recycled from Filia's and she does not speak for most of her Story Mode, other than to express her desire to "become" Filia (note that her story mode is a joke story mode and shouldn't be taken as canon in any way). It is possible that she has some masochistic inclinations as Fukua is (thus far) the only character who smiles when finished with a Blockbuster.Her appearance is nearly identical to that of Filia's since she is a direct clone of her, but is of a completely different color palette as to differentiate between them. As such, she also has her own version of Samson named Shamone. Her shirt and shoes are black, and her hair is dark green with her necktie, skirt and thighhighs being the same color except slightly less saturated in intensity. She also wears light blue-ish green lipstick and hot pink eye shadow. Her color scheme is based on a glitch found in several games wherein characters turned green abnormally; the glitch tending to occur more often on older game systems. Direct inspirations for Fukua’s coloration include Glitch Sonic from Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and a glitch from the first Mortal Kombat game where all characters would turn green on the character select screen temporarily.[3]Fukua is a physical clone of Filia (with her Parasite Shamone being a clone of Samson) who contains two souls: one who was the strongest at close combat, and another who was the strongest at ranged attacks. Since she is a clone of Filia, Fukua imitates her in combat too. However, she has a rather different fighting style from Filia, with her having unique attacks that look like modified Filia attacks as well as them having unique powers with Shamone being able to spit out energy balls and Fukua herself being able to produce energy clones. In her original trailer she lacked any of the energy related abilities she is slightly known for. Her energy ball attacks are just projectile hair ball attacks and while she can st

{{Beowulf}}

Beowulf is a character who uses his immense strength and wrestling skills to fight his opponents. His weapons of choice are his endurable chair The Hurting and Grendel's gigantic arm. Some of his attacks depend on whether he has his chair or not; if not, then he will use Grendel's arm instead. He attacks with chops, stomps, charges, and other hard-hitting kicks . Another element of his fighting style is his collection of throws and finishers that can be comparable to a character of the Beat'em Up game genre. Whenever he has an opponent in his grasp, he can attack with a headbutt, his knee, or various damaging slams in the air or on the ground. When Beowulf throws his chair around the stage, he must wait a few seconds before the chair is light and he can be able to pick up again. If he slams his opponent onto his chair, he deals a bit of extra damage and regains the possession of it.Beowulf is portrayed as a well-conditioned wrestler with black hair and beard stubble. He is wearing brown pants with suspenders and fur strapped to his legs. He also wears a wolf headdress and fur over his shoulders and back. During certain moves, and occasionally while being hit or winning a match, the wolf's head covers Beowulf's face, making him look like a hybrid between wolf and human. Besides his folding chair, Beowulf also uses Grendel's arm as a weapon. His attacks are thematically based on these three topics: The wolf, Grendel's arm and wrestling techniques.Beowulf is a hot-blooded wrestler who enjoys the spotlight he received from wrestling. Even after his downfall following the defeat of Grendel and the slaying of his mother, he is unwilling to give up his career and wants to please his fans. However, he is not really known for thinking things through as he was focusing on the career and receiving advice from his shady "manager" Zane instead of seeing the main problem at hand. Despite his bumbling tendencies, he is a good person and a capable fighter who legitimately cares fo

{{Double}}

Double (JP: ダブル Daburu) is a shape shifting creature working under the Trinity, responsible for ensuring that the Skull Heart falls into the "right" hands and manipulating events according to the goddesses' will. Her current guise is as a nun under the name Agatha Gloomfoil (JP: シスター・アガサ Shisutā Agasa). She is one of the primary antagonists of the gamesign Old Double Design One of Double's previous designs. As a shapeshifter Double has taken on different designs even early on. Initially she was conceptualized as a very nondescript and hunched over humanoid figure. She seems to have still been able to shapeshift in this era of her design as in one piece of concept art she is seen taking on a form where she resembled Filia, except Samson's head was where Filia's should be and Filia's was on the back of the skull and appeared very emaciated. If you look closely the Filia mimic design has some of the distinct traits of the humanoid figure's design as she has the same dots on the forehead and the same hairstyle in the middle section of the head. At another point, she was a jumble of distorted pieces from other characters wearing a crown. Double takes full advantage of her shapeshifting abilities in battle, freely shifting her mass into various weapons and appendages. In-game, she prefers to morph into the forms of other characters in order to perform one of their attacks (including some that were dropped from their movesets during development). Some of her abilities involve using the form of one character to begin an attack before shifting into a different character to utilize their attributes as a follow-up. Double's shifting abilities enable her to manifest multiple separate bodies that she can control, as well as enormous forms that far exceed her usual mass. However, she appears to be unable to imitate certain supernatural abilities (such as the fiery "tears" of Krieg). Double can mimic anyone's voice, and is capable of talking normally to appear as, for example,

{{Parasoul}}

Parasoul Renoir (JP: パラソール・ルノワール Parasōru Runowāru) is the princess of the Renoir family, the rulers of the Canopy Kingdom, and the older sister of Umbrella. She is the daughter of King Franz and Queen Nancy, the previous Skullgirl, and wields the Living Weapon, Krieg, in battle. Under her command are the Black Egrets.Parasoul, unlike her late father, is a firm, fair, wise, and diligent leader who vows to protect the kingdom with the Black Egrets by her side. Her childhood was centered around becoming a warrior that was worthy of her father's legacy. Underneath her serious personality is a noble leader who is thinking about what is best for her kingdom and her family. She attacks with grace, poise, and cunning to defeat her opponents and complete her missions. She prefers to take action over doing paperwork. Although she maintains a solemn demeanor, she tends to be very protective of her sister and the kingdom in general as she does deeply care for their well being.Parasoul has straight lower back-length red hair with a bang covering her right eye and carrot orange eyes. She also has a slender figure. She wears a long sleeved black top, a matching skirt with light purple undies underneath and flat black shoes. The pistol Parasoul uses is a Luger P08, a German 9mm semi-automatic pistol used during both World Wars, and a replacement for the earlier Mauser C96.Parasoul is a strategic fighter on the battlefield, her living weapon Krieg is capable of shedding Napalm Tears that can be dropped around when Parasoul shoots it with her luger or twirls it around which she can then detonate later. She can temporarily float in the air with Krieg and any tear that explodes while she still floats propels her upward. Also, her soldiers are more than eager to help her gain the upper hand by defending her from projectiles, dragging her opponents away, or just shooting them from afar.

{{marie korbel}}

Marie Korbel (JP: マリー・コーベル Marī Kōberu), also known as Bloody Marie (JP: ブラッディー・マリー Buraddī Marī), is the central antagonist of Skullgirls and the current Skullgirl. She appears in every character's Story Mode and in the ninth round of Arcade mode. The boss form of Marie is only playable in Challenge Mode. She is included as a last Season 1 DLC Pass' regular playable characteAs the Skullgirl, she is very destructive. However, unlike past Skullgirls, she demonstrates a much greater will and cares for the innocent. This is seen during Squigly's story, where she uses all of her strength to save New Meridian and its civilians from the falling debris of the Medici Tower while on her rampage against the infamous Medici mafia. Her selflessness has been acknowledged by Leviathan, who claims Marie's actions are "Rather curious for a Skullgirl."Bloody Marie is the final boss of Skullgirls Arcade and Story modes (with the exception of Squigly's, where she is the penultimate opponent, and Fukua's and Eliza's Story Modes). Fought in an arcane arena formed by the Skull Heart itself, she will move through three forms as her health is depleted. Marie is largely static, only floating around slightly (especially in her third form). She cannot be grappled into Blockbusters. Her attacks consist of summoned minions and flying demon-skulls, but her later forms introduce a massive black figure that she uses to attack the challenger and push them back. All of her attacks can be blocked for chip damage. She is quite difficult to fight even on Easy difficulty, due to her wide variety of "cheap shots" that can do a hefty amount of damage. Her Tension Bar does not work in the same way regular characters' does, in that it only marks which form she is at, and has no other use. Her spam does not count for infinite combos, and as such, the combo escape cannot be used on her. On the other hand, she is the only character in the game whose IPS/Undizzy burst inflicts damage. Marie cannot be grappl
