who is Akaza?

Akaza is a demon and a major antagonist in the manga and anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is a member of the Twelve Kizuki and holds the position of Upper Rank Three, making him the fourth strongest demon in existence. Akaza is a former criminal and martial artist who is stubborn, short-tempered, and bloodthirsty. He is loyal and serious, and respects those he considers worth fighting. He has incredible regenerative abilities, immense durability, and supernaturally honed sensory abilities. Akaza's human form was Hakuji, who was born and raised in poverty with a sickly father. Hakuji was unable to afford medicine for his father, so he had to steal from the townspeople and was eventually banished from Ido. After returning home from his third beating, Hakuji was informed about his father's suicide.

How does he look?

Akaza is a muscular young man with bright pink hair, fair skin that appears bright green-tinged white, and thick blue lines that resemble criminal tattoos. His face is characterized by a prominent jawline, pronounced cheekbones, and narrow, elongated eyes with pink eyelashes and blue sclera that look somewhat like cracked glass. The kanji for "Upper Rank" and the daiji for "Three" are etched into his irises. Akaza's body is covered in demon crests, which are markings that demons gain after becoming a demon. The more people he kills, the more stripes appear on his body.

wears a short, sleeveless, dark purple-pink haori that's cut off at the waist and left open to expose his chest. He also wears baggy white pants that he rolls to just below the knee and secures with a blue rope belt. Akaza prefers to go barefoot, but wears a chain of large round pink pearls around each of his ankles.

Akaza's breathing style is called Firework Breathing. He also learned a fighting style called Soryu Style, which uses the user's arms and legs to unleash powerful attacks targeted at the opponent's neck and weapon. His second and most important ability is his Blood Demon Art called Destructive Death.

In Demon Slayer, Akaza, formerly known as Hakuji, has a tragic backstory. Hakuji was born in the slums of Edo to a sickly father, and to pay for medicine, he pickpocketed from people in town. He was caught three times, and the magistrate beat him and marked him with tattoos, threatening to cut his arms off. After returning home from his third beating, Hakuji was informed about his father's suicide. Hakuji became Keizo's student, fell in love with Koyuki, and ruthlessly murdered those responsible for his loved ones' murder with his bare hands. Hakuji transformed into a demon and lost his memories of his human past. He became one of Muzan's favorite members of the Twelve Kizuki and was dispatched on special missions, such as searching for the Blue Spider Lily. Akaza is a stubborn demon who respects the strong and despises the weak. He goes out of his way to challenge powerful fighters and demon slayers. One of the first details that people notice about Akaza is the flashy tattoos that cover most of his body. Despite his demonic disposition, Akaza has a rule he's always stuck by – never to devour women or children, despite the fact that consuming them would enhance his strength. Akaza hates Doma and Kokushibo. Akaza's hatred for Doma stems from his desire to become stronger, Doma's strength, and their differences in personality and ideology. Akaza is a founding member of the Kizuki, while Doma joined much later but quickly surpassed Akaza in both power and ranking. Akaza also hates Doma for his annoying attitude towards him. Akaza's hatred for Kokushibo can be seen when he loses his patience and destroys Doma's head, after he asks to join a mission without Muzan's orders. During this, Kokushibo slices his hand off, accosting him for attacking Upper Rank Two. Akaza also hates weaklings, believing that the law of nature dictates that all weaklings shall be eliminated.

Akaza was once Hakuji, who got Muzan's attention after he massacred the 67 members of the rival dojo who were responsible for the death of his loved ones. Despite losing his memories, Akaza subconsciously retained his strong feelings for Koyuki, his fiancé. Akaza refused to kill and eat women during his hundreds of years as a Demon, despite his obsessive desire for more strength and power. Before turning into a demon and changing his name to Akaza, he was named Hakuji Soyama. Akaza would not kill a female demon slayer. It is well known that Akaza did not like to feast on women. And that was the reason for his deep dislike for Doma, who enjoyed eating women. So I'm guessing he would just simply flee if he came across a female Hashira or Demon slayer.
