The Brotherhood of Mutants or Brotherhood of Bayville, are a group of teenaged mutants that were assembled by Mystique who was acting under orders of Magneto. The Brotherhood serve as Erik's answer to deal with the X-Men with Pietro and Lance being the only two to have direct rivalry with someone in their opposing group, those being Evan and Scott.Despite being a group whose sole purpose was to cause trouble and chaos through Bayville, and often getting into fights with the X-Men during their early days as a team, The Brotherhood soon began doing more pettier crimes as they semi-retired and instead opted to stay in their run-down house that Mystique had access to. The team, namely Lance and Toad, were easily able to be manipulated by those high than them such as Erik, Mystique and by an extent, Principal Kelly as they were not that evil but had no other choice except to follow orders given to them. Even though they were rivals, The Brotherhood, despite being hesitant at first, teamed up with the X-Men when the situation at hand became too dire and extreme. The first time the two fought together was against Juggernaut, another such exception was when Xavier allies both teams together much to the annoyance of each team. After the release of Apocalypse, The Brotherhood once again allied themselves with the X-Men as well as The Acolytes to fight against Erik who was being controlled. In the future, Xavier saw The Brotherhood fully changed their morals and joined S.H.I.E.L.D's Freedom Force Division.

During their second year of living together, a new mutant by the name of Tabitha, joined the team due to Mystique's absence as she had abandoned The Brotherhood. Knowing Mystique was gone, Tabitha chose to take over the former's room despite the boy's telling her that room was out of the question, she also teased and bullied her new team whenever possible such as taking Lance's car or when she got Fred to shave his hair making him go bald though her actions were not enough to cause fights between them and the X-Men. Wanting to prove to Kitty that he could be a better person, Lance moved away from his team and instead tried joining the Brotherhood's opposing team which caused the New Mutants to try and get him to leave by framing him for actions they themselves caused, Lance put up with them for as long as he could but eventually left and returned to his old team whom teased him for what he had done. Tabitha had also joined the Bayville Sirens during that time. Once Mystique returned and discovered that there had been a new member without her knowledge, she kicked Tabitha from the team who left without an argument, Mystique then introduced the team's newest member who Pietro recognised as his younger sister, Wanda, after the twins recognised each other, Wanda began using her powers in an attempt to get back at her brother for what their father did but she was soon calmed down as Pietro explained to the others who their attacker was. Now able to control her powers, Wanda, as well as the boys, were ordered by Mystique to go fight the X-Men at the mall. Not wanting Kitty to be harmed, Lance attempted to to tell her about what was going to happen but was unable to, Wanda soon appeared to join her team and hexed her enemies' powers which caused them to go unstable as The Brotherhood were able to gain an advantage and win against their rivals. Needing to stop Erik, The Brotherhood and X-Men teamed up to stop their common enemy only to learn that Pietro was a traitor

Due to the latter team being forced to come up against their X-Men rivals, Lance harboured a deep rivalry with Scott Summers as the two constantly fought each other when the team encountered each other. Much later on, he slowly began to hesitate joining in with any villainous deeds as his anger stemmed from how society saw mutants. Despite his loner behaviour, Lance attempted to maintain and develop a relationship with Kitty, going as for as going to join the X-Men much to the amusement of his Brotherhood teammates. Even though he is constantly annoyed by his team, Lance acted as the team's provide and committed small petty crimes in order to buy groceries and pay the bills.

Fred Dukes (blob)

Due to his weight, he is often subjected to bullying which often ends with him losing his temper. His attitude and the social isolation he felt was what made him a prime recruitment choice for Mystique. After his run-in with the X-Men after kidnapping Jean, Fred failed to make any new friends outside of his team which caused him to grow closer to them instead.

He also believes himself to be a tough guy due to the people he hangs around with and is not bothered about his pungent odour despite a lot of other people being repulsed by it. In his own way, he cares for his but is more closer to Lance or Fred, mostly Fred, than he is to Pietro. Even though he even betrayed his own sister, he still cares for Wanda and only showed his fear of her when she threatened him once she was brought to the house but his fear subsided once his sister's memories were changed. He also cared for others if it benefited him in the long run if he ever ended up fighting alongside the X-Men or anyone who was not part of the Brotherhood. Pietro also showed arrogance and bitterness towards Evan as the two were known rivals. Upon being given leadership of the Brotherhood by his father, Pietro gave the team the ambition they were in need of much to the annoyance of his teammates who did not appreciate Pietro bossing them around to do minor tasks.

Mystique and magneto

Mystique has extraordinary impulsive issues, which leads her to get defeated and beaten extremely easily by others. She also has a degree of superiority complex, as she always feels the need to be in control of others, even when there are those around her with greater authority. In addition, she can hold grudges against those that get in her way. she is the recruiter for the brotherhood. magneto is the never seen leader

The X-Men were founded by a Professor known as Charles Xavier whose ability allowed him to read minds, also known as telepathy, at first only one student lived there by the name of Scott Summers followed by a second telepath by the name of Jean Grey. Although unknown when, Xavier recruited Ororo Munroe as a teacher alongside his long-time friend Logan. Prior to forming the team however, Xavier was also a long time friend to Erik Lehnsherr but their friendship soon dissolved once both made it clear to each other they had different ideologies on how mutants and humans should co-exist with Erik believing mutants should be the dominant race and Xavier believing mutants could live alongside their human peers. Although they share different beliefs for their kind, both still retain an admirable amount of respect for each other.Before the September school year, the X-Men only consisted of two students: Scott and Jean and two teachers: Ororo and Xavier. By the end of September however, the team gained new students by the names of Kitty Pryde and the orphan Kurt Wagner with the former having the ability to phase through solid matter and the latter being able to teleport, amongst faculty, Logan was recruited to teach the younger generation of mutants. Before Christmas, Ororo's nephew Evan Daniels had been recruited alongside Rogue whom of which briefly allied herself with the Brotherhood of Mutants. During their time at school however, the X-Men found themselves getting into heated arguments with their rival team with Scott holding a grudge against his classmate Duncan Matthews due to him being with Jean. Close to the end of their first year, the students discovered that their principal known as Principal Darkhölme was also their enemy and Brotherhood leader Mystique who had been secretly allying herself with Erik during school hours recruiting other mutants unbeknownst to the X-Men.
