Armor Swordsmanship and Physical Prowess Fighting on the battlefield since he was nine years old, Guts has had nearly two decades to become the formidable warrior he is. Since he was six years old, Guts has wielded oversized swords, culminating in his near-superhuman strength and mastery of the sword. In the Hundred Years War, he became famous for killing a hundred Tudor soldiers single-handedly, and even earned the respect of the legendary Nosferatu Zodd for being the first human in three centuries to wound him. After the Eclipse, it can rival the basic forms of formidable apostles. Persistent Survival Even after remaining for an unspecified period of time under the corpse of his hanged mother, he was discovered by Gambino and his mercenaries. The Skull Knight notes that Guts "began [his] life from death", and having fought it ever since, he is especially good at escaping it.
