Persona Attributes

1's appearance

1 appears to be made out of pale-colored fabric. His hands and feet are metallic; the hands have somewhat of a gnarled, claw-like look to them, while his feet are divided into three metal plates, bearing resemblance to a clawed foot. His head is gaunt, with high 'cheekbones', appearing to have a skull beneath the fabric skin. He is fastened by metal buckles, and appears to be patched up. After the war, upon reaching the Sanctuary, he obtains a cape made out of a scrap of red silk fastened with a ruby brooch, a metal staff with a rusted gear piece attached to it (adorned with a bell at the end). He also wears a makeshift 'pope hat' out of a bullet shell. This hat has a brass[citation needed] one-cent coin on it that was attached with a piece of wire. This outfit makes 1 highly resemble a religious figure of high position, most notably a bishop. It is considerable this outfit was chosen to represent the fact that, in the past, religious leaders acted much like 1: refusing critique or questioning about the Church (1 refuses to answer any about the origins of the stitchpunks), being dogmatic and hating science (or in 1's case, alchemy). His pupils are unlike the other stitchpunk's optics, they are triangular, as opposed to round. They can become dilated when he is afraid. 1 doesn't have stitched eyebrows like most of the others, but part of his skin above his eyes is indented to resemble eyebrows. Throughout the film, 1 loses his leadership status, also losing his staff, cape and hat in the process and relinquishing his title after the destruction of the Fabrication Machine's factory. However, he takes on a leadership role again when 9 runs off to find the Scientist's workshop, but this leadership is more formal and patient.

1's possessions

Staff: This staff is what 1 uses to show his power, and he may be quite old like 2 so he uses it to help him walk. 1 can use it somewhat like a weapon, which we see when he hooks 5 around the neck to pull him closer and does it to 9 to check his number when he first meets him. The staff is made of a dulled sewing needle, half a gear and a little bell. The cane is lost when 9 let's go of it during the Winged Beast attack. Hat: this pope-like hat is what 1 uses to hide his rather witty "hairstyle" and for ruler theme. It is made of a broken candle cap with an Luxembourg ‘1 cent’ penny tied to it. The penny falls off when he is caught by the Seamstress (but gets rescued by 9), and he takes off the hat near the end, and it (possibly) gets crushed by the Fabrication Machine. During the flashback of the war, his hat appears to be made of a spent bullet casing. Cape: a red silk cape, maybe torn from a curtain and fastened around 1's neck with a ruby brooch, makes 1 look even more like a king and further accentuates his vanity.

1's personality and how he feels others in his group

1 is the apprehensive, egotistically arrogant portion of the Scientist's personality[citation needed]. He is the first homunculus creation of the group, and he has appointed himself as leader. He has a self-witted, dictatorial demeanor and refuses to compromise on any of his beliefs that contradict to his standpoint, and he is further willing to let the others die to ensure his own safety, as shown when he sends 2 out to his death. His cognitive mannerisms change, however, when 9 confronts him about issues with staying sheltered perpetually from the outside world, the disreputable decision on sending 2 to scout in the Emptiness, the matter of finding answers to neglected questions that would perchance be significantly veritable regarding all of the stitchpunks how he feels about others 9 - 1 disagrees with 9's idealisms, instead wishing to hide in his sanctuary. 8 - 8 is 1's most loyal companion, serving as his obedient bodyguard. 7 - 1 views 7 as a traitor, most likely because she left the sanctuary to go out and fight the machines. 6 - 1 ignores 6 because of his confusing and unclear nature. 5 - 1 acts neutrally towards 5, albeit a bit condescending, until 5 agrees to go with 9 to save 2. 3 & 4 - 1 has no notable relationship with 3 & 4, and acts neutrally towards them in every respect. 2 - 1 was annoyed by 2's inquisitive nature, and so he sent him out to "scout."

2's appearance and personality

2 is made of burlap, with arms made of a material similar to vinyl[citation needed]. He has shoe leather running down his abdomen, which the bowed lace somewhat resembles a bowtie. He has a metal plate on the back of his head, and his eyes are large and made of brass. Due to his frequent excursions into the wastelands, his body has sustained much wear and tear, and he is now frailer than the other stitchpunks. He has a splint tied to his leg and carries a cane to help him walk. He also wears a candle hat to help light the way ahead of him, with a pane of glass attached (half of a pair of a human's glasses) to help him see. He uses a double-ended spear for offense and defense. 2 is a kind, brave inventor, willing to teach and help others. He is protective of the others, even protecting the young, inexperienced 9 with his life. He is portrayed as a frail, elderly inventor who can easily construct new gadgets. He built a telescope with 5, whom he also helped fix after he lost an eye. Despite his aging physique, 2 is practically fearless and willingly sacrifices himself to save 9 from the Cat Beast and while he was saved this didn't stop his fearlessness. 2 is very caring towards his friends, most notably 5, 7, and 9, and reminiscent when it comes to the ruined warzone.

3 and 4's appearance and personalities

3 and 4 are twin stitchpunks with dark blue hoods and light blue bodies, with dark brown and beige stripes. Their numbers are inked onto their chests rather than their backs—3's is on the left side of their chest (viewer's right), while 4's is on their right (viewer's left). Their genders are canonically undisclosed and never revealed (though fans often speculate or assign them male and female genders). 3 & 4 are mute, the only way they communicate is via their flickering eyes, which they do frequently to exchange information between each other. Their eyes also have the ability to act as projectors in order to display information to the others which they cannot relay with their flickering alone (as it appears that the others do not quite understand them). While they appear to have the same demeanor among themselves, they do have slight nuances in their personalities which define them from one another. 3 appears to be more curious and forward, while 4 appears to be more skittish and reserved. And the way they move is so adorable.

what 3 and 4 think of everyone

1 - The twins seem to be wary, but neutral towards 1. 2 - Not a lot is known since 2 dies before he interacts with the twins on-screen, though it would appear they got along well. 5 - They appear to be good friends, since 5 seemed surprised to see them both alive and well in the library after so long. 6 - They also seemed to be good friends since they act friendly towards each other. The twins felt depressed after 6 dies. 7 - The twins seem to hold a strong fondness for 7, following her almost everywhere. 8 - The twins seemed to be afraid of 8, possibly because of his large build and the fact that he is constantly wielding a weapon. 9 - They see 9 as a close friend.

5's appearance and personality and how he feels about others

5 has one eye and two buttons going down his front. The buttons give the impression of a buttoned shirt, like a worker's uniform. 5 carries a "backpack" made of a tarot card and a thimble, containing his map and all sorts of bobs and bits for traveling convenience. His weapon is a miniature crossbow-like invention (made of springs and scrap metal with needles as ammunition), and additionally a sort of grappling system (using fishing hooks and string), all of them presumably made by himself. He uses a map of the area around The Sanctuary. 5 used to have two eyes, but lost his eye during the war after a gas bomb landed behind him, causing him to tumble uncontrollably and impact the ground with his left eye. 1- 5 is at first shown to fear him, while showing respect and obeying his orders. But later on, since 9 showed up, he finally showed some courage and even stepped up as he stopped 1 from setting The Factory on fire while 9 and 7 were still inside. 2- Being his apprentice, he and 2 share a special bond. 3 & 4- According to in the The Library when 5 notices 3 & 4, we can see him relieved that 3 & 4 were safe after the Machine War, then 5 rubbing the top of 4's head/hoodie, so this indicates that 5, 3 & 4 are good friends. 6- Not much is known, but it seems that they are good friends. 7 - After 7 finished off the Cat Beast in The Factory, 5 was pleasantly surprised to see 7, overjoyed to see her, since 5 thought that she was gone. This indicates that they were good friends. 8- Not much is known, other than 5 is lightly afraid of him. 9 - Like with 2, 5 is shown to be very close to 9.

6's appearance

6 appears as a gray-and-white striped stitchpunk. The fastening on his neck, wrists, and ankles appears to be copper wire wrapped three and one. Once around his neck and three times around his ankles and wrists. He has a tuft of gray-ish white yarn on his head, though as time and artwork passed, it became rather stained with black ink. The fandom enjoys running with the observation that he runs his still ink-covered fingers through it when distressed or having a waking Vision. One of his eyes is larger than the other, perhaps emphasizing his mental state. 6 wears a large old-fashioned key on a key ring around his neck, which he can be seen clutching at when he is scared or upset. The deleted scene "The Scientist's Legacy" confirms that the key that 6 wears is the key to the scientist's music/jewelry box for 9. Blots and smears of ink can be seen on his body and on his pen-nib hands. In his original design, he is shown having much longer hair, the key much broader and bigger than him, and his face almost emaciated.

6's personality

6 is an artist and oracle. He is the most visionary stitchpunk of the group, who seldom speaks, and prefers to express his thoughts with creative design and drawings. He is able to accomplish this with the pen nibs that serve as his fingers. Based on his eccentric artwork and overall detached air, it is evident that he sees the world a bit differently from the other stitchpunks. He has particular visions of the past and future that significantly regard any of the stitchpunks and/or the Machines, so he most likely drawing what he sees in his dreams—most of which are about the talisman and the three prime alchemical symbols on it. His drawings did in fact happen to have solved most of 9's questions about the whole plot. Though, alas, the other characters had difficulty understanding their meanings (Or simply discarded them as products of an ill mind). 6 certainly can be seen as living in his own world, or fathom of it, in the film. Shaking his head as if to clear it or to wake from a dream, like when 5 calls him into reality during the battle with the Winged Beast, 6 displays he can and does get lost in thought—even in life-threatening situations; but when he isn't, he looks more struck with fear than any other stitchpunk, probably being constantly more aware of what they're hiding from.

7's personality and how she feels about the others in her group

7 is a spit-fire. She is strong-willed, rebellious, independent, and defiant. However, she is calm and confident in battle. She is frustrated with the others for not being willing to go out and fend for themselves like she has, and she especially has abhorrence to 1 by his ego regarding leadership mannerisms. She is also specially protective of 3 & 4, having a maternal role over them. At the beginning of the film, she had more of a hardened nature— but at 9's arrival, she began to develop a more sensitive and emotional side. 9 - 7 develops a more gentle personality after she first meets 9. She is often annoyed with his carelessness and the trouble he gets the stitchpunks into, especially reprimanding him after getting 2 killed. She eventually starts to care for him and even tries to convince him not to sacrifice himself. 8 - 7 is fairly agitated by 8 because he is very much loyal to 1.[citation needed] 6 - 7 is very much confused by 6, and she tries her best to ignore him; Nonetheless she will defend him, and she is also melancholic. 5 - 5 and 7 are very good friends; 5 sewed 7's impaled leg that she received during the Winged Beast fight. 3 & 4 - 7 is very protective and caring towards the twins, and she somewhat acts as an especial motherly figure to them. 2 - It is evidential that 7 and 2 have been good friends because 2 was excited about 7's return after she killed the Cat Beast; In sympathetic desolation for 2, 7 tries to kill 1 after finding out he selfishly sent 2 out to his death. 1 - 7 has a ruminative intolerance towards 1; she left him and his cowardice to go scavenge for any survivors, hunt for utilitarian items/equipment, and fight any machines domiciling in the Emptiness.

7's appearance

7 appears to be made from a small weave of corduroy. The primeval color of her fabric skin when precedingly created became bleached from long amounts of exposure to the sun due to her long intervals of exploration.[citation needed] She wears a bird skull from a crow as a helmet, and the quadrate bones of the animal hang down from the sides of her helmet acting sort of as earrings. Two long natural color-striped feathers are strap-tied to the back of her helmet which visually shield her backside, which covers a previous injury where a patch of striped fabric now obscures most of the number inked on her back. It is possible that 7 discovered the bird skull while she was imprisoned in the birdcage that resides in the factory when captured by the Cat Beast.[citation needed] She wears a small russet metal bracer on the forelimb of her right arm and wears a small shield on her right arm made from part of an old bullet shell and a galvanized flat washer tethered altogether with a durable string. Her spear is made from a black clock hand and a small knife blade. She loses her helmet and shield near the end of the film. Aside from the aforementioned "earrings", she does not have hair nor accessories to distinguish her as being “feminine" appearance-wise. However, her structure is a taller and slimmer figure than her other counterparts, giving her a svelte appearance. “Feminine" stitchpunks such as 7 have a shoulder delineation that is noticeably curved sooner to the distance between the tip of the shoulders to the actual neck joint of the endoskeleton. The shoulders are less straight in the outlined shape and rather come down with the natural curvature slightly more vertiginous than the other eight stitchpunks from the Scientist.

8's appearance and personality

8 appears to be made out of an old sock. He is much larger and bulkier than the other stitchpunks. He has a wide, ape-like mouth, small eyes in comparison to his body size, and large hands. Seeing as all stitchpunks have a layer of protective padding under their skin, 8 seems to have extra layers of padding to act as muscles. He wears a metal collar-vest made from the scraps of a sawblade. His number is drawn onto his arm rather than his back. 8's weaponry consists of a saltshaker cap for a helmet/mask, a huge kitchen knife as the main weapon, and a scissor blade as a throwing knife. He also has a magnet which he uses to mount his blades. This magnet reacts to the electric wiring in his head and eyes, which seems to produce a tickling sensation, acting somewhat like a drug. 8 is incredibly loyal and obedient, somewhat like a faithful dog. However, he can be crude and mocking to those he has not devoted himself to. He has chosen brawn over brains, and as a result, he is not very bright. 1 is often frustrated by his low vocabulary.

9's appearance and personality

9 appears as a brown burlap stitchpunk. He has a golden/yellow zipper on his front to fasten his abdomen, and the number "9" inked on his back. 9 was initially left without a voice box, leaving him mute. Thanks to 2, however, this was fixed 9 is one of the more heartfelt of the group, putting others before himself. He starts out quite naïve, but quickly learns to overcome this flaw to empower his intuition

war behemoth

A war behemoth machine stands approximately 30 feet tall on a pair of slender legs. Though thin in structural design,They are quite strong and capable of moving at considerable speeds. The main ‘head’ of the body consists of a red oculus bulb in the centre, a single Gatling gun armed under the eye, and several poison-gas tank bombs concealed within its hooded-back. During the Machine War, the Fabrication Machine made other particulate models of the steel war behemoths with reconfigured advancements including the comportment of gas tank bombs, mortar guns, howitzers, and even anti aircraft guns, even though some of these were not mentioned or featured in the film.

spiderbots

spider bots have spider-like fangs, metallic bodies, and the standard red eyes most of the machines have. They squeak or screeching sounds, and are able to utilize their limbs to run about the factory and scale walls and structures.

seekers

Seekers have a large croissant-shaped balloon on their back with a pair of bellows on both sides, giving them the ability to steer. They also have two large red eyes and two arms, which can adjust the bellows on its back to pump fire into their balloon or to sound an alarm using hand-cranked sirens. They also collect resources and scraps from the wasteland, so the Fabrication Machine can build more machines with it. They have a set of searchlights that helps with this.

the machine

The original look of the Machine was very decorated, having a beautiful sphere that had a single, glowing red eye optic bulb with a eye lens cover over it in the middle. It had two small arms protruding from the sides and many vibrating power chargers all over. Its new body gave it nine new arm appendages used for cutting, tweaking, and welding metal, as well as grasping arms. It was permanently attached to the center of the ceiling inside the main construction room of factory.

the seamstress

The Seamstress resembles a large cobra-like machine with spider-like arms; four of them have robotic hands, one has a seam-cutting blade, two others have sewing needles, and the remaining arm has a pair of old scissors. All together the Seamstress has six arms. Her body is cloaked in a fabric or burlap covering. The hood was made from a umbrella, and is in the shape of the crest of a cobra. Its head is the upper half of a broken doll's head, possibly the doll used by 2 to give 9 a voice, with metal "teeth" that can spit out long lines of thread, which control her body like a puppet. The left eye is one of the original doll's eyes, where as the right eye is a red bionic oculus bulb made by the Fabrication Machine. Under the cloak, she has a metal spine and rib body resembling the skeleton that of a snake. The Seamstress uses neuro-shock hypnosis to induce her victims with quick bursts of blinding blue and white light from the eyes of 2's lifeless corpse, which is sewn to her tail, before binding the self-induced target with red thread. The Seamstress then stows the bound victims inside her belly, which can open and close at will. One of the most predominant features of the Seamstress is the snake machine's constant hissing, which indicates the nearness of the Seamstress. The machine can change the looks of its hood by spreading metal arms attached to the fabric, either folding it up over her face or spreading it out like a fan (likely to be more intimidating). The length of the Seamstress is 1 meter, and the height of standing position would be about 6 inches.

the cat beast

The Cat Beast appears to have been hastily made, since the Fabrication Machine was near its "hibernation". Although metallic, the Cat Beast has a cat skull as its head, with one eye red and the other as a searchlight; with some cat bones attached to its arms and legs, including a metallic tail, to give it a more cat-like appearance. It has retractable claws and night vision, as well as a large amount of strength and an unexpected amount of agility. It uses its metallic claws to attack, its jaw mouth to carry large objects, and a little slot to carry the Talisman when it was found, hanging below its head. The spines on its back, made of assorted sharp objects, serve as another means of protection. Unlike its Southern counterpart, the Cat Beast that lives to the West does not have any burlap clothing on its back and its eye is red instead of green. They both roar, but Cat Beast that was in the South roars at a higher and deeper pitch, giving an almost animalistic roar.

the winged Beast

The Winged Beast strongly resembles a pterodactyl, a flying prehistoric reptile. It has four beady red eyes encircling a "mouth" made of scalpels, knives, and other sharp metal objects. A speaker or voice box rests at the center of the blades, allowing the Beast to make loud, eagle-like screeches. Its bat-like wings are made from a flag, and sport claws in their middles, allowing the Beast to walk on all fours. It also features a short tail tipped with a detachable harpoon; a long cord connects the spear to its body. Additionally, this Beast has a fan attached to its underside and a human ribcage incorporated into its body. The height of the beast is 30 centimeters, the length of it is 2 feet long, and both wings are 4 feet long. The Winged Beast is much more mobile than its predecessor, The Cat Beast, due to its flying capabilities. It can use its fan as a makeshift engine to propel itself through the air, or fly like an actual bird by gliding on air currents and flapping its wings. It can also use its claws to cling to surfaces or crawl along the ground in an awkward but fairly fast motion. In combat, the Winged Beast's main weapons are its head and tail. It can slash its prey with individual blades, trap them with a "bite", or stab them with a pecking motion. It can swing its entire head around to knock away or thrash opponents. Its tail is outfitted with an apparatus that fires a retractable harpoon at a designated target, forcefully enough to knock a Stitchpunk back a good distance and pin them down for capture. The string and spring-launch components automated as part of the harpoon can then be retracted, allowing the Beast to use its ranged attack repeatedly after resetting the harpoon’s shooting mechanism equipped as the end part of its tail. It would often use its wings as a shield to protect itself from attacks. The Beast was also seen using its claws to grab or scratch at things, but it rarely uses them in combat roles.
