Appearance

Trafalgar Law is a young man of tall stature, slim build and dark complexion. Regarding his facial features, the expression on his face is characterized by penetrating gray eyes with quite marked dark circles under the furrows, and a grimace on his lips that usually outlines a slight smile. He has black hair permanently covered by a fur hat typical of the northern lands, in addition to sporting sideburns and a goatee. Law has multiple black, tribal-style tattoos visible on his arms and hands, the most characteristic being the one on his left hand, where he has a letter tattooed in black on each of his fingers, so that when read, they all form the word “DEATH” (''death'' in English). He also has a symbol similar to his crew's Jolly Roger tattooed on his forearms, and strange crosses on the back of his hands. Like other well-known captains in the series, he hates being given orders, which is demonstrated when Kid tells him and Luffy to stay at the auction house until he finishes off the marines, seeing Law's obvious anger that later He expresses saying that he would kill Kid if he gave him one more order.

Past

Law's childhood coincided with the time when the symptoms of Amber Lead poisoning were at their peak in the country, and he was doomed to die before reaching adulthood. The kingdom was at war with neighboring countries who mistakenly believed the disease was contagious. The World Government and the royal family knew about the disease beforehand, but did not release this information to the public, even as the symptoms became more and more noticeable.
