Those on who lose the singing competition with their opponent on the alien stage die. Whoever has the highest score at the end of the song wins and gets to live to move up the rankings and sing again against another human. Mizi was owned by a loving alien family prior to her being sent into this inhumane program. Sua, on the other hand, had a family that treated her like a doll or trophy.

Mizi’s lover

When Mizi and Sua first met, Mizi was infatuated with Sua. Sua used to be more depressed and glossy-eyed until Mizi came into her life. Mizi called Sua her “clematis”, which is a type of flower. She loved her, and called her “my flower.” Sua was Mizi’s universe. Her goddess. The ruler of her heart. She believed Sua had the most ethereal voice in the universe. Mizi was in love with Sua but had to eventually compete with her on stage. Sua lost by a single point, resulting in being shot by the guards. Mizi won, but not without the price of losing Sua, and having her blood splattered on her face in the process of Sua’s death. Mizi loved Sua more than anything, and she will never love anyone as much as she loved Sua ever again. She stays alive and fights in the singing competitions so that Sua’s death wasn’t in vain.
