Shinobu Kocho

Appearance

Shinobu was a short, light-skinned girl with red lipstick, short black hair with purple gradient extensions at the ends, which was wavy and had fringes separated at the height of her head and two long whiskers on his ears. Her eyes were special, having a purple color with a composite appearance similar to that of insects since they do not have a pupil. Shinobu kept her hair combed at the back of her head in a flat yakai-maki bun, secured with a white, turquoise, and light purple butterfly ornament. Shinobu was quite short in height and was often described as a small and weak looking person, which is later reinforced by her claim of her not possessing the physical strength necessary to cut off a Demon's head like the other Pillars. According to Zenitsu 's comments , only her beauty would have been enough for Shinobu to earn a living. Her Nichirin sword had a custom design by having the guard shaped like butterfly wings, with the cutting blade absent from her blade due to her not possessing the strength necessary to cut off demons' heads. However, the sword is designed to inoculate poison made from wisteria flowers which makes up for her lack of physical strength.

Personality

Shinobu was quite laid back, always having a smile on her face regardless of the situation. She seems to enjoy teasing others and she can be quite sadistic about it especially her partner Giyu Tomioka . [6] When facing a Demon, Shinobu showed an unexpectedly cruel and sadistic side by murdering the older sister of the Spider Demons after giving her false hope of wanting to help her but not before telling her what he planned to do with her and then, try to kill Nezuko. [7] However, Shinobu later shows a more understanding and compassionate side towards Tanjiro and his sister when she learns their personal history.
