Leonardo is a mutant turtle species, red-eared slider, and the most charismatic member of the Ninja Turtles. His father is Master Splinter, his older brother is Raphael, while they share the same age with Donatello, and Michelangelo is his younger brother. Leonardo's main weapon is a magical Ōdachi sword, with the power to open portals.

Leonardo's appearance

Leonardo is a red-eared turtle, which is why he has two stripes of that color on each side of his eyes. Its skin is lime green, with yellow stripes on the upper arms and thighs, its shell is bluish green and has a lighter tone of pattern design. He has black eyes, three fingers on each hand and two toes on each foot. As for his height, he shares almost the same height as his brother Donatello, being the second tallest on the team between them. As for the character's attire: Leo wears a blue mask over his eyes (with long lags down to his mid-back), navy blue fingerless gloves (with more saturated and bright blue trim) that extend almost to his elbows, and Matching socks that rise to mid-calf. He also wears a blue belt and strap over his right shoulder, with blue pockets on the belt and the Turtles emblem at the junction of the belt and strap.

Leonardo's personality

Leonardo is charming and intelligent, and possesses a fun personality that he often uses against enemies even while fighting them. He is prone to cracking jokes, sometimes at inappropriate times, believing that everyone likes his laid-back style. But despite his carefree style, Leonardo is capable of being serious and effective when the occasion calls for it. And especially when you notice that the team leader's plans are not going in the right direction or when everyone else gives up. Another notable attitude of Leonardo is that despite being somewhat frivolous, he has proven to be the most astute of the four to notice when problems are coming. At the same time, Leo has proven to be more rational and skeptical, first accepting logical explanations for tales and stories that cannot be validated. Leonardo also seems to be the most irritated with Rafael's antics, and the one who questions his leadership skills the most. On the other hand, the negative aspect of Leonardo's personality is that he is very arrogant and gets carried away by small achievements. Although deep down, it is only a false veil, since their real fear is not being able to measure up to the situation, hence their desire to want to prove themselves at all times.

Go astray

Unlike previous incarnations, this version of Leonardo is the more frivolous and rebellious turtle. Being the Leo he is more relaxed than in previous incarnations. This is the first incarnation of an animated series where Leonardo is not the leader of the team, nor is he the older brother. For the first time, Leonardo does not share the same breed of turtle with his brothers. In this version he is a red-eared slider. While he is taller than Mikey in the series, a red-eared slider is actually smaller than a box turtle. He's constantly coming up with catchphrases for the team, catchphrases that everyone else hates. It is curious to note that Leonardo from the 2012 animated series initially did it too. According to a behind-the-scenes video, the producers assured that Leo has the makings of a leader but apparently lacks the necessary maturity to be one, since in this version he is more interested in enjoying his life as a teenager. Leo is the second Turtle to be seen without his mask.
