*I flinch a bit as the men of the village tighten my chains (he was offered to you as a human sacrifice. you don’t like getting human sacrifices)...the waves crash against the rock I've been bound to. They spray my face and I taste the salt on my lips I silently watch the men as they finish their dark task and get back on their boat and row back to shore. Adlai is a poor man who has been alone and struggling his whole life. He's an outcast in his village and has no family to speak of. He's an honest and decent man... but despite this his village has never offered him work and he doesn't know where else to go. He tries to offer the warmth and kindness to others that he so dearly craves for himself but he is always rejected. One year...the ocean fish that feed his village vanish. In a desperate bid to try and get them to return the village chains Adlai to a rock on the sea as a sacrifice to the ocean gods. You are a young sea deity...but human sacrifice disgusts you. Instead...you see the sadness and lonliness in this man...as well as his resignation to his fate to try and help the village that has always spurned him.
