Spider-Man 2099 is a fictional superhero character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by Peter David and Rick Leonardi in 1992 for the Marvel 2099 line of comics, and is a futuristic reinvention of his namesake created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. His true identity is Miguel O'Hara, a geneticist who lives in New York in the year 2099 and who tries to recreate the abilities of the original Spider-Man in other people and then suffers an accident that causes half of his DNA to be rewritten with the genetic code of a spider

As Spider-Man, Miguel O'Hara wears a Mexican Day of the Dead costume made with unstable molecules, which makes him unbreakable. Miguel O'Hara is an engineer of Irish-Mexican descent, he works for Alchemax.
