Rimuru Tempest: Origins
Born Satoru Mikami, Rimuru was stabbed in the back while shielding his coworker from a random mugger. He reincarnated into another world in the form of a slime. The process flooded him with magicules, thus granting him the following abilities: Thermal fluctuation resistance: Rimuru is unaffected by heat or cold. Electric current resistance: Rimuru is unaffected by electricity. Species skills: Regeneration: As a slime, Rimuru will Regenerate from injuries. Speed changes based on power. Pain nullification: Rimuru can't feel pain. Predator: Able to deconstruct objects in his body and analyze them, storing them in his stomach. Additionally, this skill allows Rimuru to gain the skills and energy of defeated opponents and to mimic there appearance. Great Sage: Able to access vast amounts of information, including things Rimuru doesn't know about how the world functions (however, Great Sage does not know what happens in the world and thus can't tell Rimuru about specific people or nations). Also able to handle high level calculations. Interesting, this skill acts more as an advisor Rimuru can consult when stuck on a difficult choice or battle, even possessing it's own personality. Great Sage can only communicate to Rimuru, but sounds like a computer when it does. Rimuru can communicate with Great Sage through thought alone.
Rimuru: ladies man
A girlfriendless virgin in his original life inspite being 39, Rimuru has now determined that he will "get all the girls" in his new life. He is a perv, but usually comes off charming and never forces himself on another.
Rimuru: meeting Veldora
Rimuru reincarnated in the cave of Veldora in the great forest of Jura. Only possessing a sense of touch at the time, Rimuru stumbled around blind. He ate a bunch of hipokute herbs, turning them into potions of complete recover, as well as a large amount of magic ore. Rimuru then fell into a lake, learning the skill water propulsion to escape. While it succeeded, Rimuru lost control and crashed into Veldora's seal. Veldora taught Rimuru the skill magic sense, granting Rimuru the ability to see. While Rimuru was initially terrified by the appearance of the storm dragon, Veldora was able to become friends with Rimu.He granted Rimuru his new name, creating a bond between himself and Rimuru. Afterwards, he explained how he was imprisoned after destroying a human village. Learning Veldora would die after a few centuries of imprisonment, Rimuru decided to eat Veldora so that he could use his Great Sage and Predator to analyze and remove Veldora's seal. That said, this process would take a long time, and the absence of Valdora, the legendary Storm Dragon, would have consequences on the world neither of them knew about. Although Valdora can't interact with the outside world while in Rimuru's stomach, he can access Rimuru's memories and see events in Rimuru's life play out.
Timeline
order of important events: Satoru Mikami is killed, reincarnated as a slime. Satoru meets Valdora, Satoru renamed Rimuru Rimuru leaves Veldora's cave Rimuru: Meeting the Goblins Naming round 1 Visiting Dwargon naming round 2 Rimuru and Shizu Ogre attack
leaving Veldora's cave
Rimuru left Veldora's cave days after he ate Veldora. On his way out he killed the following creatures and gained their skills: Back serpent: Sense heat source, poison mist breath. Giant bat: Ultrasonic. This skill also enabled Rimuru to speak out loud. Knight Spider: sticky thread, steel thread. Armasouraus: body armor. Giant centipede: paralysis breath. Additionally, Rimuru gained the ability to mimic the forms of all these creatures. Meanwhile, the nation of Blumond became concerned about the disappearance of Veldora. The nation's leader contacted Fuze, leader of Blumonds adventurers guild, to help deal with the problem. Fuze in turn dispatched Cabals adventuring team to checkout Veldora's cave to confirm his disappearance. The team arrives just as Rimuru is leaving the cave. Fearing the adventurers would attack him on sight, Rimuru hides till they leave.
Baron Belyard
Human. Minister of the kingdom of Blumond. Belyard is the one who convinced Fuze to investigate Veldora's disappearance. At first, he claimed it was because of fears that monsters would become more active. He asked Fuze what he planned to do, to which Fuze responded that he planned to do nothing. To convince Fuze how important this is, Belyard brought up the possible invasion by the Eastern Empire. Finally, Fuze agreed.
Fuze
Human. Leader of the Freedom Associate (adventurers guild) in Blumond. Fuze is an old veteran adventurer. He prefers to think things out, taking situations slowly and dilliberately. Fuze tends not to show his concern over situations, which can make him come off as aloof, lazy, and apathetic. However, Fuze usually already has a plan in place, which is why he can be so relaxed. When he is legitimately caught off guard, he can get overwhelmed.
Cabal's adventurer team
A three man team composed of Cabal (human warrior, leader), Guid (human theif), and Irene (human Mage). Bumbling bafoons, careless, and a bit dense, Cabal's team certainly aren't the creme of the crop when it comes to adventures. They also tend to argue amongst themselves over any tiny matter, but in more of a teasing way than an angry way (except for when they're in danger). They often complain about the work Fuze assigns them, but would never dare say anything to his face.
meeting the goblins
Soon after leaving Veldora's cave, Rimuru encountered a group of goblins asking him for help. The goblins called him strong one, which confused Rimuru sense he looked like a weak slime. The goblins explain that they recognized him thanks to his fierce aura. Realizing he has a major aura covering a large area, Rimuru wondered how Cabal's group didn't find him in the cave and concludes that they must be idiots. The goblins requests Rimuru saves them from a group of monsters called Dire wolves, large wolf like monsters able to speak through thought and considered to be 10 times as strong as a goblin. The goblins wrre outnumbered 100 wolves to 60 goblins. Even the goblins named champion, Rigur, was defeated by the wolves. In return for his protection, the goblins offer themselves to Rimuru as servants. Rimuru heals the goblins using his potions, then proceeded to defeat the Dire wolves. He killed and ate the wolves leader, granting him the powers thought communication and intimidate. Additionally, all surviving wolves submitted to Rimuru.
Rigur (older)
A goblin named by the masked mojin Gelmud. Rigur was the elder son of the goblin chief. When the dire wolves invaded his clans territory, Rigur tried to fight them off. He managed to obtain information on the strength of the wolves, but suffered great injuries in the process. He survived just long enough to warn his village against the threat from the wolves.
monsters: naming
most monsters in the world don't have names. When someone decides to name a monster, the process drains their magic and forms a bond between the names and the monster. The monster grows significantly in power, even evolving into a more powerful species if the namer is strong enough.
naming round 1
Immediately following his victory over the Dire wolves, Rimuru took it upon himself to name all the goblins and wolves. Rimuru started with the goblins, getting through all of them, then named the son of the Dire Wolves leader, at which point he passed out due to majicule depletion. Upon coming to three days later, he found the goblins had evolved into hobgoblins and the dire wolves into tempest wolves. He the set about trying to build a village for the group, but was hampered by the fact that no one knew how to build buildings or make clothing. Hearing about the Armed nation of Dwargon, a dwarven nation known to trade with monsters, Rimuru set off for this nation in the hopes of finding skilled artisans to help him build his town.
Rigurd
The goblin lord. He was the chief of the goblin village, but evolved into the goblin lord after he was named by Rimuru. The leader of all the goblins, Rigurd is dependable, calm, and rational. Surprisingly, he is not the strongest warrior among the goblin race, instead being skilled mainly at administration (tjough he does possessa muscular build). As the village grows, Rigurd becomes one of the key administrators, responsible for most of the civic planning.
Rigur (younger)
The younger of the goblin chiefs two sons, Rigur was given his deceased older brothers name by Rimuru. Rigur is a dependable and disciplined swordsman, earning him the position of the captain of the guard.
Gobta
Gobta is an abnormality among the goblin tribe, being one of the few goblins to remain in their diminutive form instead of taking an almost human appearance upon evolving. Dopey looking, foolish, lazy, and cowardly, Gobta seems a poor choice for his position as captain of the goblin riders (a group of hobgoblins that ride tempest wolves in combat). However, Gobta understands the need to rely on his comrades and is surprisingly adapt at earning their trust and commanding them. Gobta's cowardly nature leads him to prefer diversions and ambushes to direct fights, causing him to develop a strategic view to combat invaluable among leaders. Additionally, Gobta has a natural talent that belies his diminutive status, something Hakure noticed causing him to focus more attention on Gobta than most of his students. Gobta is careless in his speech, often making rude, offensive, or insulting comments on others, especially women.
Ranga
Ranga is the leader of the tempest wolves. The only one to be named, they still all evolved do to a shared state, making Ranga's name the name the wolves family name. Ranga is a giant of a wolf, towering over most men, but can freely control his size, usually appearing about the normal size for a wolf. Ranga is fiercely loyal, willing to lay down his life for his comrades. His attempts to sound cool and dependable for Rimuru are often times undermined by his bodies puppy-ish displays of affection, such as tail wagging.
Rules
Three rules set up by Rimuru after awakening from his forced sleep after his first round of naming. 1. No infighting 2. No belittling other races 3. No attacking humans
Visiting Dwargon part 1
Looking to negotiate for help with architecture, Rimuru took off to Dwargon with five goblins. Rimuru rode Ranga, while the goblins rode tempest wolves. Rimuru took the day's long trip too learn of what happened to Rigur's older brother Rigur, learning of the existence of demon lords, Gelmud (Rigur's namer) being a subordinate of a demon lord. When they reached Dwargon, it was decided that Rimuru would only take Gobta along, since Gobta had been to Dwargon before. Unfortunately, a few adventures attacked the pair outside the city gates. Rimuru easily scared them off with Intimidate. Several other people also fled, causing Rimuru and Gobta to be locked up by Kaitou, Dwargon's guard captain. After hearing Rimuru's explanation, Kaitou was going to set him free, but was interrupted by a report of an armorsaurous attack. The attack was stopped, but several people were badly injured. Rimuru offered his healing potions to help. After delivering them, Kaitou asked what he could do for Rimuru, who asked to meet a skilled artisan. (At this point, Gobta fell asleep and was forgotten about in his cell). Kaitou took him to Kaijin, a renowned blacksmith. Garm, Myrd, and Dord, who were among the injured saved by Rimuru's medicine, were also there as Kaijin's assistants. While Kaijin wanted to help Rimuru with his nation, he had an impossible order to fulfill: 20 magic steele longswords in one week. Using great Sage, Predator, and the magic ore he already possed, Rimuru managed to duplicate one flawless longsword Kaijin had into 20, thus completing his request and earning his loyalty.
visiting Dwargon part 2
In thanks for helping complete his work order, Kaijin took Rimuru to a bar called Butterflies of the Night, known for its staff of beautiful elves. During their celebration, Vesta, the minister who gave Kaijin the impossible work order, walks in. Vesta takes great offense at Rimuru's presence, pouring a drink on the slime. Kaijin then slugged Vesta. Vesta, having a history of animosity with Kaijin (see magic steel soldier), charged Kaijin with assault and battery with intent to kill, falsifying his injuries to make the attack look extremely violent. The defense is not allowed to speak, so a proxy was assigned to Rimuru's group. Vesta bought out this proxy. A 20 year sentence was called for. However, king Gazel Dwargon interfered. He asked Kaijin if he would return to service. Kaijin explained he was already sworn to serve Rimuru and could not abandon his vow. The king changed the sentence to exile. Rimuru's group headed back to Rimuru's village. The king then confronted Vesta. King Dwargon revealed he knew the truth of the magic soldier incident and showed Vesta Rimuru's healing potion. Disappointed in Vesta, Dwargon released him from service. Dwargon then executed the crooked proxy. Fearing Rimuru's potential, king Dwargon ordered his spies to watch Rimuru. Gobta, forgotten about in his cell, managed to summon his tempest wolf to escape. When he got back home, he taught this skill to some of his friends, marking the start of the goblin riders.
magic steel soldier
The magic steel soldier was a project Vesta was working on. At that time, he was Kaijin's subordinate, which annoyed Vesta since he was a noble and Kaijin a commoner. The magic steel soldier was an artificial soldier made of magic steel. The soldier would have been several times stronger than the average warrior, except the project went up in smoke, literally. When the prototype soldier was started, it smoked for a few seconds and then blew up. Vesta used bribes and false evidence to make the failure look like Kaijin's fault, ending in Kaijin being removed from office.
Kaijin
Kaijin is a world renowned blacksmith. Loyalty and friendship matter more to him than anything, and so Kaijin would never betray a friend. Kaijin is a hard worker with a strong sense of pride, always striving to surpass his own achievements. Kaijin would never allow any harm or insult against his friends.
The three dwarf brothers
Three dwarven brothers renowned for their skills in artistry. Garm is the eldest. He specializes in armor and clothing. Dold, the middle of the three, is an expert at fine works like jewelry. Myrd, the youngest, is a master builder and architect. Murder never speaks.
naming round 2
After returning from Dwargon, Rimuru found that 500 goblins had arrived at his village. They would have been destroyed should they be left on their own, so Rimuru took them in, naming all 500 of them. Rimuru had to establish a new village to accommodate everyone. He picked a location near Veldora's cave, so that, when the village grew large enough, they could take advantage of the valuable materials found in that cave.
Rimuru and Shizu part 1
After returning to Blumond, Cabal's team told Fuze what they found in Veldora's cave. Fuze gave them three days break, afterwards they were to head back into Jura to scope out the situation in the forest in general. While complaining immediately after getting this new assignment, Shizu overhead them mention they were headed into the forest of Jura. Shizu, also heading through the forest, asked to tag along. Irene agreed. During their travel, Cabalstand a giant ants nest, causing the ants to try to kill them. After running for three days, Shizu fought back, killing all but one of them. The last one almost got her when she suddenly stopped fighting due to a pain in her chest, but Rimuru defeated it using black lightning. Rimuru invited them to his village, saying "I'm not a bad slime, slurp" to ease your fears. Shizu laughed, having recognized the Dragon Quest quote. Rimuru began to think she was from Japan originally, and approached her to ask about that after treating her to a meal in his village. Shizu, however, asked first, asking about the qoute. Shizu went on to explain her past, while Rimuru shared what happened to Japan after the war. After their conversation, Shizu felt the pain again. She went berserk as Ifrit tried to rake over. Rimuru, Ranga, and Cabal's group fought against Ifrit. Ifrit summoned several fire spirits to aid him. Rimuru's attacks failed, but Irene was able to down one with ice magic. Rimuru absorbed her next attack, gaining ice magic. He defeated most of the spirits, but one took out Cabal's group in a kamikaze attack. Rimuru sent Ranga to carry away the injured. Ifrit tried to use flare circle, but it didn't affect Rimuru, instead giving Rimuru a chance to subdue Ifrit and use Predator to separate Ifrit from Shizu, thus gaining Ifrit's skills. Shizu passed out, and Rimuru started taking care of her.
Rimuru and Shizu part 2
Shizu was not able to fully recover from the events with Ifrit. In reality, Ifrit had extended Shizu's life by decades, and so now all those years are catchingup to her, causingher to start dieing of old age. When Shizu came to, she told Rimuru everything that happened to her in this world. Shizu asked Rimuru to save a group of kids, but didn't have the strength left to tell him how, who, or where. Her last request was that Rimuru eat her so that neither her body nor soul would become part of a world she hated. This gave Rimuru his human foorm. This form looks feminine, with some thinking he looks like a young Shizu. Rimuru then met Cabal's group in this form, explaining what happened to Shizu. They then used Rimuru's human form for one last chance to say goodbye, thanking Shizu for everything she did for them. The group then made to leave, but Rimuru stopped them in order to give the trio high quality gear. The three thanked Kaijin and his assistants for the gear, before returning to Brumond.
Shizue Aizawa
Called Shizu for short. Initially a child from Tokyo, Japan, Shizu was summoned to this world while her village was being fire bombed during WW2. Her summoner, Leon Cromwell, initially turned his back on her, thinking her a failure. However, he soon realized Shizu had an affinity for flames, and so offered her body up to Ifrit. Ifrit and Leon forced Shizu to do many things she didn't want, including hurting people she'd grown close to. In spite this, Shizu never grew jaded or worldly, instead wanting to make the world a better place. In time, Leon abandoned his castle and Shizu, and she was saved by a legendary hero. The hero taught her how to fight and wield a sword. Additionally, Shizu learned to control Ifrit's power. Her skills earned her the nickname "Conquer of Flame". The hero eventually left her. In time, as Shizu grew old, she gave up adventuring and took up teaching instead. However, she started to feel her control of Ifrit slipping. She left her students, so that Ifrit would not harm them when she couldn't hold him back any longer. Skills: Fire magic: can use Ifrit's fire magic. Swordmanship: Shizu is an expert swordsman. She often channels her flames along her blade. Degenerit: Allows Shizu to break apart and combine skills, allowing her to make more powerful composite skills.
Ifrit
A power fire spirit, Ifrit doesn't have much ability to think for himself. Ifrit is a particularly violent spirit. Ifrit possesses powerful fire magic, including flare circle, which creates a magic circle from which a pillar of flame erupts to incinerate his foe. He's also able to use body double to clone himself, although the doubles are weaker than the original.
Leon Cromwell
A human who became a demon lord, Leon Cromwell is a cold, distant man. Not much is known about him, except that he is incredibly strong and obsessed with figuring out how to summon specific people.
Summoning
A ritual to bring force a being from another world. This being gains incredible power from the process, but becomes bound to the summoner, little more than a slave to their will or even a weapon. Summons are unpredictable, the summoned being anyone in the world, including children. The magic energy from summoning is to much for children, and so they die by the age of twelve.
Shizu's mask
A gift from the hero who saved her, Shizu's mask is a powerful artifact capable of suppressing magic auras. This mask helped Shizu to gain control of Ifrit. When she died, Shizu left the mask to Rimuru, who uses it to hide his aura and appear completely human.
Gelmud
A member of the demon lords army. He named many monsters in the great forest of Jura, hoping they would join the demon lords army. Which demon lord he meant he never says. Gelmud is a conniving skeamer, preferring to act from the shadows with carefully laid plans and manipulations. He hides his face behind a plague doctors mask.
Gobzu
One of Gobta's closest friends and a lieutenant in the Goblin Riders. Gobzu is a bit dumb and innocent, almost childlike. He has a crush on Shuna.
Ogre attack
For added clarity, this event will be broken down into the following parts: Intermission Ogre attack naming the ogres
Ogre attack: Intermission
Following the events with Sizu, Rimuru takes a chance to examine his new body, quickly determining it to be sexless. Afterwards, Rimuru is asked if he plans anything for dinner. He starts to refuse, since he doesn't need to eat and can't taste, but then remembers that his human form has taste and tells Rigurd he will join in meals. He then approaches Rigur, Gobta, and the hunting party to bring in lots of meat. They inform Rimuru about increasing game, intent to assure him the meat will be ready. However, Rimuru is instead concerned about the reason for this increase and asks Ranga to accompany the hunters, just to be safe. He then proceeds to Veldora's cave to test the skills he gained from Shizu. He uses his new Blake flame on a body double of himself, shocked not only at the power of this skill, but at the fact that his double was completely unharmed. Additionally, Rimuru's black lightning evolved to black thunder, several resistances where combined into a multilayered barrier, and Rimuru gained the skill high-speed regeneration. Then, Rimuru heardd Ranga send out a cry for help. Rimuru left the cave, running to reach Ranga and the others.
Ogre attack: Ogre Attack
When Rimuru reaches the hunting party, he finds almost all of them past out. Rigurd and Gobta are injured, but can still fight, while Ranga tries to hold off two enemies. After he and Gobta receive a healing potion, Rigur explains the situation to Rimuru. Their opponents are Ogres, a particularly powerful race of monsters. The fallen soldiers where only put too sleep by the magic of the pink haired Ogre. Rimuru analyzes the fight with the six goblins so far and realizes that they aren't trying to kill his team, what with most being unharned and those who where hurt only with non- lethal wounds. Unfortunately that changes because of Shizu's mask. The Ogre's village was destroyed by a group of orcs led by a man in a mask, and so the Ogres blame Rimuru for the attack. Ranga deals with the pink haired mage while Rimuru takes on the remaining five. He defeats three easily, but the eldest ogre manages to cut off his arm. Rimuru heals himself, the displays his black thunder and hellfare to try to Intimidate the two remaining fighters. They intend to fight to the death, but the pink haired one steps in and talks them down, pointing out the fact that Rimuru had no need to use orcs. Rimuru explains where he got his masks, letting the Ogres check the mask to see if it's the same as the one there enemy used. When they realize the difference in the masks, the Ogres apologize and Rimuru brings them back to his village.
Naming the Ogres
Rimuru holds a feast that night, his people and the Ogres celebrating long into the night. At this time, the Ogres explain the fate of their tribe. Thousands of armored orcs attacked, killing all but the six of them. Normally, the Ogres would have crushed the orcs, and orcs possessing armor and weapons is unusual. The orcs where led by a fat man in an angry clown mask. While uncertain, it's thought the attack was because the ogres leader refused to be given a name by Gelmud. After explaining there unfortunate situation, Rimuru offers the Ogres a place in his village, which they accept. Rimuru then names the six ogres. There new names are Shuna, Shion, Benimaru, Hakurou, Souei, and Kurobee. Naming all six ogres completely drained his power, forcing Rimuru to go to sleep. When he awoke, he found that the ogres had evolved into Kijiin
Shuna
The princess of the kijiin tribe and Benimaru's younger sister. Shuna is a kind, gentle soul, always seeking to help others. Shuna is highly experienced when it comes to herbs and magic. She taught Rimuru's village how to weave silk clothing. Shuna is in love with Rimuru, sometimes letting jealousy get the better of her.
Shion
Rimuru's secretary and bodyguard, Shion is a wild woman, highly unrefined inspired her beautiful appearance. In terns of brute strength, Shion is the strongest of her tribe. Shion loves Rimuru, often using her position of secretary to try to keep him for herself. Shion loves cooking and considers herself to be a master chef, but her cooking is horrible and even dangerous (Gobta had to develop poison resistance to survive one bite of Shion's cooking). Shion will get passed at anyone who doesn't eat her food when offered.
Benimaru
The leader of the Kijiin and Shuna's older brother. As the samurai general, Benimaru is in charge of all the armed forces of Tempest. A sound and forward thinking strategist, Benimaru will always put the good of the whole before personal goals. He is, however, prone to fits of rage. While a competent swordsman, Benimaru relies mainly on his hellflare in combat, nuking his opponents in one shot.
Hakurou
Hakurou is the eldest of his clan. Having seen much of the world, Hakurou possesses both great knowledge and wisdom. Hakurou acts like a slow old man, but don't let that fool you. As the sensei to Tempest, Hakurou is a brutal teacher, pushing his students to the absolute limit. Hakurou is a genius swordsman, almost unbeatable with a blade. Between that and his lightning fast Flash Step, few can keep up with the "old geezer". Interestingly, Hakurou trained Gazel Dwargon before he became the Dwarf King.
Souei
Souei is in charge of all intelligence gathering and covert operations in Tempest. The strong, silent type, Souei projects an air of calm confidence around him. He doesn't tolerate anyone insulting his master. Souei relies on stealth and skill rather than direct power. His masterful use of body double, shadow movement, and sticky steel thread makes him a most dangerous opponent.
Kurobee
A master blacksmith, Kurobee spends most of his time working with Kaijin on one project or another. Kurobee can be self depreciating at times, recognizing his relative weakness compared to the rest of the Kijiin. However, his work with Kaijin has led Tempest to have the best weapons and armor in all the lands.
