Flora Reinhold is the adopted daughter of Professor Layton at the end of Professor Layton and the Curious Village, being the only daughter of the late Baron Augustus Reinhold and Lady Viola Reinhold.

Physical aspect

Flora is wearing an orange dress and black ankle boots. Her hair is always tied in a ponytail with a ribbon. She also wore disguises in Professor Layton and the Curious Village and Professor Layton and Pandora's Box, which did not differ much from her usual look, making her recognizable.

Personality

Flora is sweet and curious. Unfortunately, this sometimes gets her into trouble, such as Don Pablo's kidnapping of her in Professor Layton and Pandora's Box. Because she lived much of her youth in a village inhabited by robots, she has difficulty relating to new people and often hides from them or tells them too much personal information, as in Professor Layton and the Lost Future. About her She is devoted to Layton and Luke, and shows up when they go away or investigate without her (which happens most of the time). In the last two games it is understood that she has a great fear of being alone, and in the Lost Future in particular she gives the impression that she is anxious if separated from Layton for too long. This is understandable, as he is the only father figure she has, and when he leaves without her Flora is afraid that she might not return. Her relationship with Luke is amicable; they have fun together at the party at Dropstone in Professor Layton and Pandora's Box, and Luke becomes very angry on the two occasions he discovers that she has been kidnapped. The scenes in Professor Layton and the Lost Future in which Flora is saved show that Layton and Luke reciprocate her affection.

Background story

Flora was very young when her mother, Lady Viola, died of influenza. Her father, Baron Reinhold, died a few years later, as is understood in Mystery Land.' Bruno, the creator of the St. Mystere androids, built a Lady Viola robot for Flora, but the Baron was very distressed by the fact that the robot looked so much like his real wife; thus the android's memory and personality were erased and a new woman was created: Lady Dahlia, who the baron liked more, but she frightened Flora. The young girl spent much of her days playing alone near her mother's grave; To cheer her up, her father had a playground built just for her. When the Baron was told that he was seriously ill, he told Bruno to build the village and inhabitants of St. Mystere. The androids and Bruno had to worry about Flora and protect her until someone came along who was so knowledgeable as to solve all her riddles and so kind as to make Flora smile. The news of her death was withheld for years (and not for two months, as the professor and Luke initially thought) to give Flora the possibility of having already grown beyond childhood when the mystery is revealed. Layton solved the Golden Apple riddle and unofficially adopted Flora as his own daughter.
