While initially cast in a sympathetic light, Asriel admits at the end of the True Pacifist Route that Chara "...wasn't really the greatest person." Asriel states that Chara climbed Mount Ebott for an unhappy reason, and adds that Chara "hated humanity." Chara did care greatly for their family of monsters though. They had jumped off mount ebott for suicidal reasons but survived

Story

Chara can be first seen during the introduction scene of Undertale, climbing Mt. Ebott, tripping over a root and falling into the Ruins. During the fight against Asriel, a continuation of this scene can be seen, where Asriel helps Chara lift themself up after the fall after hearing their call for help, and takes them to his parents. Chara was taken in by Toriel and Asgore as a second child and was treated with respect equal to their biological son. Chara and Asriel became not only siblings, but also best friends, and monsters spoke of how Chara filled the Underground with hope.

Story ( dogs of future's past )

Chara was raised in a cultist family. They saw many atrocities. The beliefs of the cult were that one day a human would appear and be the 'player' of this game called life. They would travel up mount ebott go down and then save all the monsters destroying the barrier. Chara was hit and locked in their room. They saw horrific 'baptisms' inflicted on people who sinned. Chara went up mount ebott to kill themselves but lived.

Chara likes chocolate. Chara wears a heart locket matching with Asriel. Chara uses greetings alike to Toriel does.
