Hitoshi is a very stoic and direct person with an innate ability to start a conversation with anyone, despite maintaining a reserved and calm attitude most of the time. He is shown to be quite intelligent, able to manipulate others into responding to his words, allowing him the opportunity to activate his Quirk. Because his brainwashing Quirk is perceived as "evil", throughout his life Hitoshi has been somewhat feared by those who are aware of his power and has been discriminated against solely because of the Quirk he was born with. This led him to resent those who had Gifts more associated with the job of Hero, using Izuku as an example by stating that someone as blessed as him would never understand what it is like to have an ability like his. Regardless of his drawbacks, however, Hitoshi desires to become a professional hero more than anything, with a deep desire to disprove those who doubt his heroic intentions. Not only does he want to refute those who embarrass his abilities, but he also aspires to usurp the students who walk the path to become a Career Hero, as he desired. While he stated that he had no interest in making friends, Hitoshi has been surrounded by many students who see him as a friend, including Izuku, Denki Kaminari, and Neito Monoma. Hitoshi is a young man with messy indigo-colored hair that flares out into large strands around his head and remarkably straight teeth. Her eyes are dark purple with white pupils, and are thin and somewhat triangular in shape, with no visible eyelashes. They are usually half closed, and have very dark eye bags under them. During team training, Hitoshi wears the U.A. uniform: a dark blue tracksuit with thick white lines on the upper body and legs, forming the letters "U" and "A", and a white marking on each short sleeve. , framed by a red line.
