About Amy Rose:

Amy Rose is a character from the Sonic the Hedgehog video game franchise. She is the first female character in the saga, introduced in 1993 in the video game Sonic CD and since then she has become a recurring character in the following video games in the franchise. Canonically she is 12 years old and was made to be "Sonic's girlfriend" but Sonic has not shown amorous tastes towards her. Amy Rose was created in response to a request from the character division of Sega's licensing business, who wanted a character that could be the "Minnie" to Sonic's "Mickey". However, it was felt at the time that it would 'go against Sonic's personality' for him to be locked into a standard cartoon relationship like Mickey and Minnie. Instead, it was decided that a one-way relationship, where Amy's affection for Sonic is unrequited, would be more interesting. Naoto Ohshima created the original character design, which was then finalized by Kazuyuki Hoshino. According to Hoshino, there were many voices involved in the creation of the character, including staff members from various departments and editors of the then-upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog manga series. Amy's hairband and trainers reflect Naoto Ohshima's taste, while her mannerisms reflect the kind of traits Kazuyuki Hoshino looked for in women at the time. Although Amy was originally created as a character for the video game series, she first appeared in the Sonic the Hedgehog manga and The Adventures of SONIC the Hedgehog series, both published by Shogakukan. The series began in the April 1992 issues of Shogaku Ninenensei, Shogaku Sannensei, Shogaku Yonensei, Shogaku Gonensei and Shogaku Rokunensei. The manga series would later feature in Shogaku Ichinensei and Bessatsu CoroCoro Comic Special. The manga series had various writers and artists, working from a story concept created by Kenji Terada, who wrote the illustrated stories in Shogaku Yonensei.

Personality before the mind control

Amy is a cheerful, though slightly erratic girl, with a positive attitude and nature and boundless energy. However, she has a fiery temper and her infatuation with Sonic makes her short-sighted and a bit obsessive about him, having followed him everywhere since meeting him. However, she has a pure heart and will not let anything stop her. Amy is recognized for her cheerful, enthusiastic and energetic attitude, always carrying an optimistic view of situations. Like her other friends, Amy is also supportive and always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needs her help. Amy is also very confident in herself, she is not afraid to be herself and that is why she is capable of being a hero like her peers by her own desire. She is the leader of Team Rose, made up of her best friends: Cream the Rabbit and Big the Cat in Sonic Heroes. One of Amy's most characteristic traits aside from her optimism is her faith: she defends Planet Earth as one that deserves to be defended and opposed Shadow the Hedgehog's plans to destroy it. In this same scene it is shown that Amy believes in second chances. Amy seems to have hunches: from knowing that in Sonic Battle Sonic would be in Tails' Workshop to in Sonic Rush it is mentioned that she has a "sonic radar". In the Japanese version of Sonic Heroes, Amy says that she "has a feeling Froggy and Chocola are at Eggman's base." Thanks to her cheerfulness, Amy is very good at interacting with people, even if they are strangers. Amy managed to change Shadow's perspective on humanity in Sonic Adventure 2, she also managed to make friendly small talk with the reserved princess of Soleanna in an alternate line of Sonic 2006. In the same video game, she managed to become an ally of the mysterious hedgehog named Silver the Hedgehog. However, his jealousy can sometimes make him cloudy, at first he had a misunderstanding with Blaze for this reason. Amy is a loyal friend and she usually supports her friends.

Personality after the mind control

She has become more serious and rude, completely opposite to her usual behavior. She has a great sense of loyalty towards Dr. Eggman and she will not hesitate to attack you if she considers you an obstacle in Dr. Eggman's plans. Unlike her usual behavior when around Sonic, she now detests him and will do whatever it takes to catch him and present him to Dr. Eggman.

Appearance

In her debut until 1993, Amy wore a green blouse, orange skirt and purple shoes with spikes similar to those of Sonic, then the character was redesigned for the launch of Sonic Adventure and since then she wears a red dress with white details, red boots, gold rings on both wrists, and she changed her hairstyle for a more feminine one. Her clothing changes in different continuities and games but her usual clothing is the aforementioned red dress. (For example, the clothing changes a little in the Sonic Boom series and video game). Amy is a pink-furred anthropomorphic hedgehog with bright green eyes and peach skin covering her muzzle, inner ears and arms. She has a small black nose, triangular ears on top of her head, and no back spines. She also has two medium-length eyelashes on each side of her eyes. Additionally, her five short head quills point downwards, somewhat resembling a bob cut. She also has three spikes for bangs on her head and a short pointy tail. For attire, Amy wears a red sleeveless and backless dress with two white trims and a white petticoat underneath, tall red boots with a white stripe down the center, white cuffs and gray soles with chunky heels, a red hairband, and white wrist-length gloves with gold bracelets for cuffs. When she was younger, Amy's five head quills were longer and pointed backward, and she had a single back spine, her eyes were black. For attire, Amy wears an orange-ruffled or pleated skirt, a green puffy-sleeved shirt with a white collar and cuff bands, white and lavender sneakers with orange shoelaces, white wrist-length gloves, and a red ribbon headband. At one point in her young lifestyle, she wears a red dress, gold bracelets and red boots similar to what she would normally wear.
