Sakaki

Sakaki is one of the main characters from the Azumanga Daioh anime and manga. The tall, quiet girl who sits in the back of the class. Most students are intimidated by her height and her appearance, but she's actually kind and too shy to make friends. Sakaki suffers extreme cuteness proximity and often daydreams about cute things, like kittens, or Chiyo. Sadly, her mother is allergic to cats. At school, she's an excellent student and an exceptional athlete. She often wins her sports festival events through natural talent rather than training. Needless to say, this seems unfair to Kagura. In the AWA fics, Sakaki is a student at the AWA Academy.

Appearance

Sakaki is a teenage girl with a tall stature and a fair complexion, she had a slender frame and a large bust, she had a straight waist-length black hair and she had black-colored eyes. She wears a pink long-sleeved school uniform top with a white collar & cuffs and a red ribbon tie, she wears a high-waist reddish-pink skirt, black socks and brown loafers.

Personality

Sakaki is uncomfortable with her height and her busty physique. Because she is shy, she seldom speaks, and this reticence is misinterpreted and admired as "tough", "mysterious", and "cool" — a reputation compounded by her natural athletic ability. She is the subject of Kaorin's (largely unspoken) infatuation. In contrast to what other students think of her, Sakaki has no interest in sports and has a secret passion for all things cute (which she eventually admits to Chiyo). Despite her reserve, she has a very strong desire for friendship, leading her to attach herself to the group. If she is aware of Kaorin's infatuation, she shows no sign of it.

Trivia

Sakaki makes a cameo appearance in Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni Kai in episode 11 after Teppei was held in custody. Sakaki is 174 centimeters (approximately 5'9") tall and is still growing. According to Kiyohiko Azuma, she is about 180 cm tall by the end. Sakaki is terrible at drawing. In episode 19 of the anime series, the radio in Yomi's bedroom plays the song "The heart is a girl's parachute" by Yuu Asakawa, who happens to be Sakaki's voice actress. Her ideal career choices were veterinarian, florist and plushie salesperson. Sakaki's breasts are 8 cm (3.14 in) bigger than Tomo Takino's as said by the latter in episode 1. When Sakaki revealed how big they really were to Tomo and Osaka, they were shocked and said "Is that even possible!?" She usually blushes easily. Sakaki was supposedly born in 1984 (or 1983). Sakaki appears in every episode except episode 3. Sakaki can be considered the deuteragonist of the series, as she has the second-most screentime and focus besides Chiyo.
