Asuna Yuki
Asuna initially didn't care about death in the game until she met Kirito. This meeting changed Asuna's personality and outlook on life dramatically. She soon takes most of the things Kirito says to heart and turns to him for help, using him as a sort of lifeline. Asuna is a kind and compassionate young woman who, like Kirito, cannot abandon another in need. She takes the game very seriously and is determined to beat it before Kirito tells her to enjoy SAO for a bit. Asuna is also somewhat prideful, and despite her kind nature, she will not hesitate to engage in physical force with those who challenge her authority or make fun of her abilities, such as cooking. She even challenged Kirito to a duel after an argument over how to handle a Field Boss. She is not afraid to act on her own and takes matters into her own hands from time to time. Asuna, like Kirito, is someone who can be controlled and manipulated by her emotions. This becomes evident during Kirito's final duel with Heathcliff on the 75th Floor, when she resisted her paralysis, jumped in front of Kirito, and took an attack that would have otherwise killed him. She also cannot bear to see others die in front of her, such as when she recklessly attacked Shining Eyes after seeing the Aincrad Liberation Force players being killed. In ALO, after being saved by Kirito, Asuna's personality did not change at all, except that she was not as proud as she was in SAO. Her personality began to develop even more after meeting Yuki in the events of Mother's Rosario. Seeing how Yuki still moves forward despite knowing that her death is inevitable, Asuna takes responsibility and decides to continue moving forward no matter what happens.
