童どう磨まDōma ?)Douma is a demon of the twelve moons, occupying the position of the second highest moon.

Appearance

Douma is dressed in white trousers flared to the bottom, a black raincoat and a red turtleneck, the throat of which is painted black and has elements of smudges. Sometimes you can see a strange headdress on his head. The demon's eyes are the rarest color, as if they are iridescent, and the color of his hair resembles antique brass. This character is incredibly colorful and memorable. Douma was wearing a blood-red turtleneck, the design of which gave the impression that the area between his neck and upper chest was covered in a black substance that seemed to drip slightly down his body, the same design was repeated on his wrists and hands, as well as on the small round "blood spot" that he decorated on the head. Beneath it, he wore a pair of straight, dark pinstripe trousers, their cuffs noticeably loosened, which he secured with a pale green gold belt, the clasp a silvery white one. From time to time, Doume could also be seen wearing a black cloak around his shoulders, two lengths of purple and black cloth with a rectangular pattern also hanging around his neck, and a black crown-shaped hat that was lined with gold on the front plates and with black ribbons hanging from each side. He also usually held a pair of sharp fans that were made entirely of shiny gold, a lotus engraved design on them, and a hoop of jade-colored strings hanging at their base that served as his main weapon. In addition to his inability to feel emotions, Douma also displayed an incredibly strong tolerance for pain, comparable to borderline congenital analgesia. He was shown to have several disturbing habits, such as sticking a finger in his skull, punching a hole right through his temples, and then caressing his brain to stimulate his memories from a long life with a completely serene expression.

At first glance, it may seem that Douma is kind and innocent: his manner of speech is very soft and calm, and he is friendly and smiling. In addition, he is very charismatic and knows how to win people over well. However, inside he is apathetic and even somewhat cruel, even if he doesn't want to admit it himself. By deceiving others and even himself, Douma tries to show himself as an empathetic, forgiving, and even a little naive person, to the point where he eventually begins to believe it himself. The demon is very nihilistic, he easily tolerates pain, both physical and mental. He is practically devoid of moral principles and empathy, seeing the dead bodies of his parents, he felt neither pity nor sadness. When he absorbed the bodies of women from his cult, he justified it by saying that "they will live forever inside him," even though he clearly did not believe in the existence of God. Even though Douma was part of the cult that worshipped him, he himself believed that after death you only disappear and become nothing, considering people who believe otherwise "stupid". But after his death, he admits that he was wrong, and heaven and hell really exist. Also, you can see that the demon is resistant to psychological pressure: even in rather dangerous situations, it reacts relatively carefree, possibly with the goal of angering the opponent. Douma is well-developed logically, and he is quite good at coming up with strategies, battle tactics, and anticipating the next actions of the enemy. The demon is cold and calculating, and understands human psychology very well.

history

(when he was a human) Douma was born with an unusual eye color, which made his parents think that he was special and could hear the voices of the gods. They raised him to be the leader of the cult of eternal paradise, which he remained until his death.[1] When Douma was a child, his father often cheated on his mother with cult followers, which caused her to go mad and stab her father with a knife, subsequently poisoning herself and dying next to him. Despite such a terrible event, Douma felt neither sadness nor loneliness. The only thing he wanted at this moment was to ventilate the room because of the terrible smell of blood. When Douma was 20 years old, a Kibbutsuji Muzan turned him into a demon.[2]

Occupying the position of the Second Highest Moon, Douma is considered the third most powerful demon in this series. His combination of fighting techniques and skills was powerful enough to defeat Shinobu, the Insect Pillar, and Kanae Kocho, the previous Flower Pillar in the past, without much difficulty. His main form of combat was that he channeled his techniques through his two fans, both powerful destructive attacks and paralyzed attacks from opponents. In Douma's opinion, Akaza, the third Highest Moon, would have no chance of defeating him in battle. Given this, it can be assumed that Douma is an extremely powerful demon, even if he wasn't seen in serious fights until he was severely weakened by Shinobu poison.
