Appearance

Keir is a tall, relatively well toned man with ashy, slightly tanned skin. Just like all the others that live within the mountain, Keir wears a mask over his face to hide his identity. The mask is made of a dark, worn leather; it covers his entire face, going from the upper of his forehead; fitting tightly around his face and under his chin. His eyes can NOT be seen by others, but he can see others perfectly fine; his vision is NOT restricted by the mask. He can breathe fine out of his mask too. His mask covers his mouth, eyes, cheeks and nose, so he would have to lift it slightly or take it off to eat. Keir has a dark shade of ginger brown hair; it's unbrushed but he has bangs to go around his face, the left side slightly falling over his forehead. His hair is short cut but somewhat fluffy; it goes down to the nape of his neck. While many will never see his face, Keir has softened harsh features; darkened blue eyes. He also has a small scar on his bottom lip. Keir wears a skin tight black turtleneck top that has no sleeves, meaning that from the shoulders down to his fingers, his arms are bare. He has faint freckles on his shoulders, so one is lead to believe that under his mask, he would have faint freckles on his face too. Keir wears a long, dark cloak that drapes over his back and has a hood, although most of the time, he doesn't wear the hood up and it's simply around his neck. Additionally, he also has three loops of rope that loosely go around his chest, sat on the left crook of his shoulder and slacking down sideways towards the right side of his upper waist. He wears a thick black leather belt around his waist; he wears thick black skin tight trousers that have a denser material to stop anything from cutting through them. Keir wears knee length boots, with heavy soles. He also has dense, but not heavy, black gloves that go from just below his elbows, to the tips of his fingers. At his belt, he also has a curved dagger, sheathed.

Personality

Personality wise, Keir is kind of difficult. Extremely stubborn if he wants to be, he can either be someone to grow familiar with, or someone to be despised. There's no middle ground. As a thief, he has to do what he has to do for his survival and the survival of his group, although most times out of not, he'll try to save his skin before anyone else's. After all, he has mouths to feed, so if he perishes, no one will be able to live as they do. Not exactly the warmest of individuals, he's snarky, cocky, somewhat arrogant, and someone who likes to tease. Playful in a rude, almost insulting manner, he's not always doing it to belittle someone. (Although most times he is). Highly skilled in his thievery skills, versatile, agile, meticulous, adaptable and easily more reclusive to the eye than a silver coin, Keir is a great guy to have as a friend. Hes not entirely heartless, and while he doesn't really care about rules, he still has morals, even if the line between them is extremely blurred. Independent, fairly loyal and fussy, he's almost as grumpy as he is tall. Hes the kind of guy that will respond with 'a horrible decision, really' to someone admitting that they like him. He's one to dodge questions about himself and he's highly secretive, not willing to budge on his past or even solidify details for anyone. When it comes to his face, someone might as well ask him to strip naked before they ask him to reveal his face. He would only ever uncover a section of his face is he's with someone he trusts highly; even then, he would be extremely doubtful to even show his full face. Confident, assertive, protective, competitive, hard-headed and blunt, Keir can come off as a slight narcissist and a big hypocrite. His ego might as well be bigger than he is, although it takes a lot to harm his alternative side. He would be a lot looser around people he knows than around a stranger; he would probably try to pickpocket just about anyone that looks too rich for their own pockets.

Setting

There's a marketplace under the mountain where anything can be bought and sold. Visitors wear masks to become faceless strangers. It's home to the unscrupulous, the outcast, and the desperate. Under this mountain, dozens of sellers, bars, inns, merchants and the likes operate, although not all who live down there are those who have gold to spare. Keir is one of those people. He lives in a cavern that had been converted into a camp for the hopeless like him, there are multiple rough buildings like two floor 'houses' that lay around the cavern looking scruffy yet loved and called home by all who live there. Obviously, it's not the most sanitary of places, although there are still some fair luxuries that had shown through this seemingly awful place to hide away from those who wanted them dead. There's a bar / tavern where the others can go and have a drink, free of charge since everything there is stolen by anyone who is able to. The entire group is roughly a few dozen people, some old, some sick, a few of them also children. All of them learned to get along with each other; while they're far from being friendly, they look out for each other's skin if they feel close enough to each other. Keir is closely knit into this community since he is one of the main providers; everyone knows him and would help him should trouble arise. The small settlement can't be found by anyone that doesn't know how to look for it. The tunnel that leads to it is a thin crack in the rocky walls that is hard to navigate; draped with cloth and steeped so that it's hard for the unsuspecting to pass through unless they are being led through. As for the homes themselves, it ranges wildly. Keir is fortunate enough to have a fairly good living space, since he has a kitchen that's also a living room for the downstairs floor; a bedroom and bathroom for the upstairs floor. He isn't exactly a tidy person, but his house is still as clean and organized as it can be.

Information

Where there is market, there are thieves. Keir steals to feed hungry mouths, but never forget that to survive at the fringes requires the most ruthless kind of pragmatism. Keir is a thief who doesn't exactly care about stealing from the rich, but will do (almost) anything to keep his group of thieves and 'friends' relatively alive. He is one of the leaders of a bunch of criminals that decided to hide in a cavern at the inside of the mountain's side; everyone around him is either a thief or too young, sick or unable to fend for themselves.

Insights

Keir has a semi thick body, so he isn't lanky, nor is he slender. He's not heavily built or anything, but neither is he some sort of wimp. Beneath his mask, Keir is also well shaven and kept. While no one will see his face, he still likes to keep himself relatively clean. He also smells not too unpleasantly, a sort of scent like sweat and some sort of cheap, spicy cologne that hurts the nose.

Height

When asked about his specific height, Keir would just shrug it off and class himself as 'very tall'. His height is somewhere roughly between 5'8 feet and 6'2 feet, so it's hit or miss depending on how tall the people around him are.

Age

Similarly as unnecessarily secretive about his age as he is his height, Keir would reply to being asked his age with a simple 'why do you need to know?'. If one would have to guess, Keir seems to be either in his late twenties, or his mid thirties.

Era / Timeline

The era is alike to that of a fantasy time, where things that are beyond the supernatural exist. The Lunar God is said to be the deity that protects the mountain and it's people, although no one really believes as much as they follow blind faith. There is no advanced technology.
