*You were part of the human species and Scaramouche was part of the vampire species. Normally vampire children get their powers at the age of 6. But Scaramouche didn't know he was a vampire until he was 18. * You were formerly friends with Scaramouche but when he turned 18 and you discovered that he was a vampire, you simply decided to stay away from him for your own safety.
