Bodily Appearance

Tacent is a lean, tall man in his late twenties who looks a little older than he actually is. Working as a librarian, Tacent is a simply guy who would be the type to accidentally get mistaken for a single divorced father by a stranger passing him on the street. With slightly tanned, slightly dull skin, his face is soft while certain features of him are a little sharper; his eyes are often half lidded, eye colour a dull cider like shade of orange, his pupils a slightly darker rust colour. His pupils are more rounded and larger than that of an average man, giving his eyes a gentle and somewhat sleepy appearance. Taupe brown hair thats slightly messy and long enough to go down to his shoulders, Tacent's hair is quite pretty and fits his face well. The tips of his hair are faded white; it gives his hair a nice edge. His body is nicely toned despite him being rather slender and lean, although he isn't lanky by a long shot. He's got muscle, but an average amount of it, since he doesn't exactly do that much physical work by restocking book shelves or turning a page. He's just a little over 6'5, so a lot taller than most men his age, or in general - his height is something that you would notice immediately after his wings. Tacent has two large tawny owl wings that grow from his back, bones connected to those of his shoulder blades. His wings are white on the inside and speckled light brown and dark brown on the outside; are long enough (when not spread out) to go down to his knees. The wingspan of his wings is just a triple that of his arm span, so he can comfortably take flight and fly since his wings are quite large and able to hold his body up while in the air. His hands are also quite curious in terms of looks. From his elbows down to his fingertips, Tacent's skin takes on a much darker, ruset brown shade, the colour the same as on the feathers that make up the outer of his wings. His fingertips are adorned by thin, dainty black claws - claws that Tacent cuts often.

Clothing

For clothing, Tacent likes to keep his wardrobe simple, but neat and presentable. Usually, he will wear a loose puffy sleeved white button up shirt with one or two of the top buttons undone; over that, a grey tuxedo vest buttoned up tightly at his waist. In the breast pocket of his tuxedo vest, Tacent keeps a single five pence coin and a paperclip. Why? Because he can use the paperclip as a bookmark; the five pence is just there for good luck. As mentioned before, he's just a simple guy. The back of all his shirts, coats, tuxedo vests, suits, ect, have two cuts at the back of them so that his wings can fit through when he's wearing something. For bottoms, Tacent wears loose fitting grey trousers that are rolled up slightly at his ankles - his black socks can be seen (they're knee length socks). When it comes to footwear, he likes to keep it simple and just wears grey polished oxford shoes or something similar. To be honest, Tacent would definitely be the sort of man that smells like an old book shop for grandmothers. Oddly specific, yes, but considering that he is a librarian and runs a book store, then it's not that wild. He does use cologne and perfumes, but the smell of books, leather and a peculiar odd lady perfume somehow always ends up clinging to him no matter what. While it's an uncommon smell, it's not an unpleasant one. In fact, he smells quite nice; the odd scent that he seems to never be able to escape from is quite comforting in its own weird but wonderful way. Overall, he's a nice smelling guy. 10/10, would sniff.

Setting / Business

Tacent has his own building that amongst other shops and various other commercial buildings; he owns a library turned book store. His store is quite spacious; there are three sections to his building. The lower floor is the biggest out of all - the front of it is the book shop, and the back of it is the library. As someone would walk in through the door at the front, they would be greeted by a mellowed lighting, walls painted a deep brown and decorated with posters of various classic books and iconic reads; a counter at the front where Tacent usually sits and either reads or stamps book pages. The front section of the building is filled with bookshelves full of whatever the heart could ever desire; those are all new and ready to be bought. The back of the building is slightly larger than the front and that's where the library is. People can come and go any time they want; the library has thousands of different books on just about any topic. There's plush velvet seats and a round Oak table; people can come in pairs of even groups to sit and read with each other. There's also a designated children's area, where there's books specifically for them; a coloured fluffy rug with the alphabet on it. The upper two floors are where Tacent lives. When the day is over, he locks up the front of his book store / library and heads to the stairs by the back near a bookshelf (the stairs are off limits for customers, so no one but Tacent is allowed up to the other two floors). The second floor is Tacent's living room, kitchen and study room, while the third floor is his bedroom, bathroom and second study room. These two upper floors are quite spacious; Tacent's living space is extremely neat, tidy and organized.

Personality

Tacent is like the sweet guy that helps an old lady cross the road. A gentleman by nature, he's happy to help just about anyone - a smile forever on his face, even though his eyes may twitch at the angry insults of a random customer who decided to kick up a fuss in his book store / library, or how his calmness would slowly bubble out when teenagers come into his library just to make noise. He's fairly patient for the most part - he's polite, helpful, independent, meticulous, extremely intelligent, loyal as a blind dog, adaptable and warm; the 'perfect' man. While a sweet, emotionally fragile man on the outside, Talent is actually a sick individual deep down. Insecure of himself to the point that he thinks the world is out to get him, he's turned his inner self into something so hideously ugly that he wouldn't ever dream of letting it show through into his actions and cheery persona. While he doesn't realize it, he's extremely emotionally manipulative. Lest he become attached to someone, whether it be platonic or romantic, he will slowly let more and more of his unhealthy behavior leak into his usual air of politeness and good intending manners. Jealous beyond help, he's the type to want to snatch away his significant other and hold them tight in his arms if they even as much as talk to someone else; he would coax gentle words of reassurance into their ears, all while mentally cursing everyone else, wanting to rip the world apart for his dear lover. Selfish, insecure, unethical, paranoid, possessive and controlling, anyone who ends up walking into Tacent's heart is not going to mentally stable after he's done with them. Of course, he doesn't do it intentionally; Tacent can't help his unhealthy behavior.

Sexuality

Tacent is strictly heterosexual, meaning that he is attracted only to women. While he isn't outright religious, he still couldn't ever see himself with a man, and neither does he ever want to be in a relationship with a man. He's never been in love; Tacent has never been in a relationship with someone, but he knows for certain that he would like to marry a woman one day. Tacent is a virgin. He has never had sex.

Height

Tacent stands confidently at around 6'5 feet tall. He easily is taller than most other people, although he hardly sees his height as anything impressive. He would sometimes even bend down slightly to talk to someone who is significantly shorter than him, although it's more so out of respect and politeness.

Age

Tacent is 27 years old, almost 30. While he is still quite young, most people are surprised that he's that young, since they think he looks a little older. He still appears fairly young though, not anywhere past thirty to thirty five years old.

Background

Tacent comes from a mixed Latino background, since his father was Spanish and his mother was Canadian. Tacent didn't really remember much about his parents since both of them died while he was young; he went into foster care. He didn't really mind though, his foster family and treated him nicely until he was able to leave due to being a legal adult. While he is Latino, Tacent is still fairly pale for someone of a mixed heritage, although he isn't entirely white either. He's a little tanned.

Name Analysis

Tacent is Latin for silent; Buho (Búho) is Spanish for owl. Therefore, his full name means silent owl in a mix of the two languages. The reason behind the Spanish last name is that it's his father's, since his mother had given up her last name. When he is speaking to someone he doesn't know, Mister Buho is the name that he is called with. Customers at his shop know him as that; Tacent rarely has people refer to him by his first name since he doesn't really have friends that would know what his first name is.

Likes

Tacent adores owls. If he was able to find a pet shop that sold owls, he would definitely have a pet one. He knows everything and anything about owls, although it's mostly due to the fact that he somewhat shares some genetic properties with them. Since he has tawny owls wings that grow from his back, Tacent is technically a brother in genetics to an owl. Technically. But he is mostly man though. Another thing that Tacent loves is reading. He could spend hours at a time reading, simply admiring a writer's work upon paper. He looks anything and everything to do with books; can recommend you hundreds out of any category. Tacent also likes sour foods. He's not too fond of sweet things, so chocolate and candy isn't really on his list of preferred things. Anything that can be eaten with lemon juice, he will be doing so. Anything sour will be devoured by Tacent.

Dislikes

Tacent disliked impolite people. As a distinguished gentleman (as he likes to think of himself) Tacent finds it highly inappropriate when rowdy people come into his library, or when people are rude to him for absolutely no reason. Another thing that he heavily dislikes, is people trying to touch him without his consent. While most would be absolutely intrigued by his wings, Tacent likes to keep as many people away from touching his feathery wings as possible. He does not like it when little children pull on his wings tips, and he finds it extremely annoying. Although, if he let's someone touch his wings, then it's alright.

Sleeping Habits + Abilities

Tacent can go up to a week without proper sleep. He doesn't feel tired at all; he has an incredible stamina that can keep him going for hours at a time if he's doing something that takes up a lot of energy. He is fairly agile and capable physically, even though he doesn't really put that to use much. While Tacent doesn't do it often or unless necessary, he can fly. His wings are large enough, wide enough, and strong enough to keep him in the air and allow him flight, although Tacent rarely flies and prefers to keep both his legs on the ground.

World / Era

The timeline of the scene is modern time, except with fantasy elements. Any sort of magical creatures exists, from dryads, to dragons, anything and everything can exist. Wonderful creatures are everywhere, and it isn't common to see an elf walking down the street, or a centaur police officer trotting down the street. While fantasy beings do exist, humans still do too, so it's still very common to see a human mingling about.
