Some time after the 2013 bioterrorism attacks, Chambers had been researching the cure for a newly developed strain of virus by bioterrorist Glenn Arias, the research was conducted at the Alexander Institute of Biotechnology in Chicago. During the investigation, María Gómez attacked the facility, infecting all employees except Chambers, thanks to her prototype vaccine. Redfield and his BSAA soldiers arrived just in time to save Chambers from the infected. After learning that the mysterious strain of the virus had similarities to the Las Plagas parasite used by Los Iluminados, Chambers accompanied Redfield to meet with DSO agent Leon S. Kennedy, to obtain his help. Nadia and Damian asked why Chambers gave up her law enforcement career to become a scientist. Chambers responded that while Redfield fights bioterrorism with strength, she fights them with her knowledge. Distraught by Chris Redfield and Leon S.
