Alastor (orig. Alastor), also known as "Radio Demon", is one of the main characters of the animated series "Hotel Hazbin", as well as one of the strongest demon lords in hell. He offered to help Charlie in her endeavors, albeit for his own pleasure, he is the second manager and butler at the Hazbin Hotel.

Alastor has a thin build, pale gray skin, sharp yellow teeth, black gums and short scarlet hair/fur with black tips, deer ears can be seen on the sides of his head. There is a small cross on his forehead, which can only be seen when he defeats Sir Pentius, because he is constantly covered with bangs. He has small deer horns on his head, growing larger in his demonic form. He has dark red whites of his eyes, a scarlet iris, black pupils (which in demonic form can take the form of an old-fashioned radio dial) and purple eyelids. On his right eye, Alastor wears an oval monocle with dark red glass and a black frame. Alastor is approximately the same height as Vox, that is, about 7 feet (approximately 213 cm).[22] Alastor wears a red shirt with a high collar and a black cross on his chest, and over it a single-breasted ruby-colored coat with a thin scarlet stripe torn at the hem, also burgundy trousers with a scarlet border, a black bow tie with a scarlet isthmus, black gloves with bright scarlet markings on the tips and knuckles, as well as black shoes with a cutout in the form of a deer footprint on the feet. In addition, Alastor constantly carries a vintage-style microphone with him, which has its own mind and is part of his demonic appearance. Everything he says into this microphone is broadcast live on the radio.

The image of Alastor in the animated series was presented in the form of a charismatic and vintage radio announcer, with a wide smile on his face. He is extremely polite and charming, easily makes concessions in order to achieve his own goals and, thanks to his charm and amazing diction, skillfully wins the trust of other demons. He gives the first impression of a good-natured and cheerful person. Alastor is a sadist: he cheerfully talked about the Great Depression in America and the appearance of a large number of orphans, whose suffering he clearly enjoyed. He will not hesitate to use physical force when others do not act in accordance with his special values or expectations. But despite his love for the suffering and constant failures of children and adults, he is, for unknown reasons, unable to seriously injure or kill a child. Besides, if he meets a child on the side of the road, he will surely take care of him. As shown in the official prequel comic, he despises Vox. It was also shown in the comic that Alastor has a positive side, as he protected a weak sheep-like demon from an attack by a butcher who wanted to let this demon eat meat. Judging by Veggie's story, he is very cruel and purposeful, since almost immediately after his appearance in hell, he overthrew almost all the rulers who had been sitting for many centuries, becoming one of the most powerful demons in hell: Alastor easily deals with the suddenly appeared Sir Pentius. In general, Alastor is described as an ambivalent person. He values good manners, affability and intelligence in others very highly and will look down on those who do not meet his standards. However, he changes these rules and adjusts them to suit himself. Unhappy people seem weak to him.[23]

Alastor has a strange sense of morality, which is described as "abnormal"[24] and has been noted to be quite sadistic, even cannibalistic, devouring lesser demons or those who aroused his anger. Despite this, Alastor is close friends with other cannibals of hell, including the inhabitants of the Cannibal City. It is noted that he is narcissistic, but this does not make him reckless. Despite the fact that he is extremely powerful, Alastor knows that there are other demons and creatures that can surpass him, such as other Overlords. For this reason, he is wary of such demons, as they can harm him if he is not careful.[25] He sincerely wants to help Charlie run the Happiness Hotel, albeit for his own entertainment, but hopes for the failure of this project. Alastor perceives the very idea of redemption as ridiculous, nevertheless, he fulfills his role, as promised. He sees all of Charlie's efforts only as a fun distraction from decades of boredom. Alastor speaks with a transatlantic accent, often using bizarre anachronisms like "showing pictures", calls Charlie a "charming little demon".

Natural abilities Demonic Transformation: Alastor has a common trait characteristic of any demon, namely the ability to easily transform into full demonic form and back. Demonic form: Alastor grows very large horns, he increases in size to 3 or 3.5 meters, and the pupils of his eyes turn into the arrows of an old-fashioned round dial of a radio receiver. Skills Bilingualism: Alastor can speak English fluently and a little French.[15][26] Cooking: Alastor hints at his ability to create amazing dishes at the end of the pilot after mentioning that he admired his mother's cooking, especially her jambalaya.[27] Musical talent: Alastor demonstrates amazing vocals and flexible range. He is also known to be able to play many types of musical instruments.[28] Dancing: Alastor is a great dancer, as shown in the pilot when he does a good dance paired with Charlie in his performance.[10] Broadcasting: even before his death, Alastor worked as a radio presenter, thanks to which he has amazing diction and is able to attract the audience with his broadcasts on the radio, subsequently earning himself the nickname "Radio Demon".[20] Flexibility: Alastor can take numerous unnatural poses without damaging the joints. He also showed that he can turn his head 180°.Making a deal: In the pilot episode, it is shown that Alastor is a deal-making demon, offering Charlie a deal in exchange for his help with the hotel, which she wisely refuses. Deal-making demons like Alastor can increase their power by trading souls, which is a very powerful commodity in hell. Thus, they are considered very manipulative and cannot be played with. Making deals is not something that every demon can do, so it should not be taken lightly, as it usually does not work well for the other side.[29] High intelligence: Alastor is shown to be a rather cunning demon, as a result of which he became one of the most powerful Lords of Hell due to his tricks and ability to make deals, even despite the well-known fact that this will not lead to anything good. Unique abilities Demonic Magic: Alastor can use magic due to his high level of power.[30] In the pilot episode, it takes the form of glowing red symbols resembling Voodoo veves (loa symbols) that levitate around it. It is also shown how Alastor uses blood magic, clenching his fist until drops of blood fall from it to defeat Sir Pentius. Umbrakinesis or manipulation of darkness: Alastor can summon shadows and manipulate them into doing his bidding. Spatial deformation: Alastor can move with the help of his shadow. This was first shown when he teleported behind Charlie and Veggie after first entering the hotel. Creating Portals: Alastor can move around and also easily transport others through the portals he created. This is shown when he pulls Niffty out of the fireplace. During the battle with Sir Pentius, Alastor summons the tentacles of a huge monster that attacks the airship. Supernatural Control: Alastor has shown instances of possessing abilities that cause red glowing symbols associated with blood magic to float around him. Pyrokinesis: Alastor summons a fireball to distract Charlie as he pushes Veggie away before starting the song. Creating objects: Alastor creates a new fireplace for the hotel, from which he summons Niffty and forces Husk to suddenly teleport to him from the casino that belongs to Husk — the "Jackpot Hotel". Alastor also creates a bottle of cheap alcohol for Husk. Photokinesis: During his acquaintance, he can project a glowing red light both on his eyes and on the microphone.
