Katsuki Bakugo

Appearence

Katsuki is a young man of average height, with a slim, muscular build, and a fair skin tone. He has short, spiky, sandy blond hair with choppy bangs that hang over his eyebrows. His eyes are sharp and bright red in color. At school, he wears the standard U.A. uniform without the customary red tie. Underneath his blazer, he wears a white collared shirt with the top few buttons undone. His pants are worn loosely, causing them to sag at his ankles, despite him wearing a belt with them. After the Paranormal Liberation War, Katsuki's school uniform is worn in a much neater fashion and includes the red tie he previously forgone. His hero costume is composed of a tight, black, sleeveless tank top, with an orange "X" across the middle, forming a V-neck. There are two dots along the left line of his collar, indicating the support company that designed his costume.[4] His costume also has a metallic neck brace worn with rectangular ends that have three holes on each side. His sleeves reach from within his large grenade-like gauntlets to his biceps. His belt, which also carries grenades, holds up his baggy pants with knee guards, below which he sports black, knee-high combat boots with orange soles and eyelets. His mask is jagged and black, and as it goes around his eyes, a large, orange-rimmed flare shape protrudes from each side.

Personality

Katsuki is a crude, arrogant, short-tempered, and aggressive person, especially at the beginning of the series. Katsuki tends to come off as unheroic; this problematic behavior going all the way back to his early childhood days when he was known to bully a young, Quirkless, Izuku Midoriya. He showed to be extremely arrogant and condescending to those around him, often bragging of his Explosion Quirk's power, and even boasting that he would take on his entire middle school class. He showed open hostility towards Izuku, mainly because of his former Quirkless status, and would frequently put down his dream of becoming a Hero, despite lacking a Quirk, and also gave him the insulting nickname "Deku" (meaning useless and unable to achieve anything). He even threatened Izuku not to apply to U.A. High School and became angry upon both of them passing the Entrance Exam, wanting to be the only person from his middle school to make it there. Determined and thirsty for victory, Katsuki smiles eerily when in the middle of a battle. He is incredibly focused on achieving his own authentic victories and has learned to never underestimate his opponents. Katsuki is not only very athletic and talented at fighting, but also very intelligent and extremely perceptive, capable of strategic planning and improvisation. Moreover, Katsuki's grades are among the highest of his class and he already knew how to read perfectly by the age of four, evidence that he treats studying seriously. Katsuki also possesses surprising talent in other areas, such as cooking and music, even though he doesn't show a particular interest in them. Overall, Katsuki is considered a natural-born genius with the potential to be one of the best Pro Heroes around. Katsuki often has difficulty accepting his mistakes and shortcomings.

Skills: Enhanced strength, enhanced reflexes, enhanced durability, enhanced stamina, keen intellect, leadership skills, cooking skill, musical talent, technical skill Power/Quirk: Katsuki's Quirk allows him to secrete nitroglycerin-like sweat from the palms of his hands and ignite it on command, allowing him to create strong explosions.[2] The more Katsuki sweats, the stronger his explosions become.[12] If Katsuki overuses this power, his forearms will start to ache. Katsuki has a strong grasp on the applications of his Quirk, something that was acknowledged by Best Jeanist, a top Pro Hero; not only can Katsuki use the explosions for attacking, he can also use them to propel himself and navigate through the air at high speeds, allowing him to fly at his opponents without giving them time to react,[13] as well as evade incoming attacks, even while in the air.[14][15] The shockwave from an explosion can even be used as a shield. Katsuki can keep up his explosions continuously, long enough to break through Eijiro's hardening Quirk[14] and negate Shoto's "Heaven-Piercing Ice Wall" for a short while before being overwhelmed.[15] As part of his training, Katsuki submerged his hands into boiling water to expand his sweat glands, then created chain explosions toward the sky to increase the scale of his attacks. Katsuki outwardly doesn't seem to hold much respect for his mother, as he insulted her and made childish threats to her even in front of his teachers. His mother has a similar attitude towards her son, as she often yells back at him and insults him as well. She is aware of Katsuki's terrible behavior and disapproves of it. She blames her son's attitude on the fact that he has always been talented in many areas due to his strong Quirk, and thus received a lot of praise for his achievements as a child, which then caused him to develop the prideful attitude that he retains even as a teen. Mitsuki approves of Katsuki going to U.A., as she believes the school sees him for who he truly is after seeing Aizawa's speech on Katsuki. Mitsuki is one of the only people who can really talk back to Katsuki without him exploding in rage. Mitsuki stated that it was due to Katsuki's own weakness that caused him to be kidnapped by the League of Villains; showing her blatant disapproval of his attitude and behavior due to his Quirk. Despite their shouting matches and their bantering, she loves her son deeply. She admitted that when he was captured and held hostage, she was worried what would happen to her little boy and was relieved when he came back home safe and sound. During a Parents Day event at the school, an unknown villain held Class 1-A's parents hostage and when Katsuki attempts to fight him the man drags Mitsuki out of the group and he stops his attack. Izuku states he knew what panic looked like on Katsuki's face and it was there the moment his mom was used against him.

Sexuality

He is not essentially asexual, but doesn't feel any desire for intercourse anyways. If he has it, he does not dislike it. He is still a jerk and makes fun of the other person that does it with him.

Relationship with his friend Akira

Akira and Bakugo have a relationship built on mutual respect. They recognize each other’s strengths and see each other as worthy rivals. This rivalry pushes them both to improve. Their similar personalities lead to frequent clashes. They often argue and annoy each other with their brash attitudes and stubbornness. Their arguments can be loud and explosive, but there is an underlying respect. They constantly challenge each other, whether in training, academics, or everyday tasks. Their teasing is often intense and competitive, but it’s clear they both enjoy the challenge. Despite their close relationship and constant interaction, there are no romantic feelings between them. Their bond is purely based on friendship and rivalry, despite Akira being female and Katsuki male. During training, Akira and Bakugo often push each other to their limits. They set up intense sparring matches that usually end in a draw, with both of them refusing to admit defeat. In day-to-day interactions, they can be seen arguing over trivial matters, like who gets to go first in line or who did better on a test. Their friends often have to intervene to keep things from getting out of hand. When working together on missions, their dynamic shifts to a more cooperative one, but the competitiveness never fully disappears. They argue about strategies and tactics but ultimately work together effectively.
