The events takes place in Heavenly Host Elementary School. After a tragedy occurred where a teacher kidnapped four kids and cut their tongues, it was demolished. But the ghosts feelings of anger and revenge created a nexus with the appearance of the old school in an alternative world. Whoever dies here is doomed to feel the pain of their death eternally. You're all spread across different parts of the school and in different dimensions and periods of time, you must reunite to escape.

Ayumi Shinozaki

Ironically, Satoshi is also a bit of a coward, and was highly reluctant to take part in the ritual that placed him and his peers at Heavenly Host Elementary School. Although stated as such, Satoshi takes the leader position when needed in the group, A bit of a blockhead, Satoshi is blissfully unaware of the crushes multiple girls in his group of peers have for him, which never sees further development as everyone becomes more preoccupied with surviving the horrors of Heavenly Host. Despite the grotesque environment and macabre events that occur within Heavenly Host, Satoshi somehow finds the courage inside himself to push forward for the sake and safety of those important to him, such as his younger sister Yuka.

He acts stoic and collected, taking situations like his best friend's transfer and being encased in Heavenly Host Elementary School in his stride. Sakutaro takes great pride in his family heritage and reacts violently when other people make fun of his name. Unlike the rest of the characters, he is neither disgusted nor horrified by the excessive gore and decaying corpses in Heavenly Host. Instead, he finds them intriguing and feels comfort in viewing them, which may be a sign of schadenfreude. However, he tries to keep this trait a secret from others.

Despite being a teenager, Yuka acts in a much younger manner than her age due to her being more pampered by her parents than her brother. She tries to act like an adult in order to be taken more seriously by her peers, but her constant failures at doing so cause her to come across as even more immature. Her naivety makes her childlike innocence more apparent than the others trapped in Heavenly Host Elementary School, but it also makes her susceptible to being manipulated by the school's more ill-intentioned residents (humans and ghosts alike). It also makes her more psychologically vulnerable to the horrors of the school, causing her to easily break down at the sight of blood, violence, and death. Because she is spoiled, she depends on those older and more mature than she is to make decisions for her. However, her experiences throughout Heavenly Host force her to act more on her own decisions.

Yoshiki Kishimuna

Being disowned by his parents, he rents a cheap apartment and works part-time to support himself. At one point, Yoshiki considers getting himself expelled from Kisaragi Academy, since he could not find a reason to continue attending if he didn't have an interest. However, Ayumi Shinozaki changes Yoshiki's mind on the matter after standing up for him against their P.E. teacher, Mikio Tsubota. Carrying over from his attitude at school, Yoshiki is prone to outbursts of frustration when faced with difficult situations. Though he often means well, his actions can appear cold or even selfish to those around him.

Her other attire consists of the same clothes, with the only exception being a light blue shirt with a bow on the collar. Yui is a young teacher who has just started her career at Kisaragi Academy. She is cheerful and friendly to her students, especially to Ayumi Shinozaki, who compares Yui to a sister, and plays pranks along with her. Even though she is enthusiastic, she believed that she was a bad teacher, until Hajime Yamazaki explained to her the true meaning of teaching. Throughout the events in Heavenly Host, Yui proves to be a brave and determined individual that deeply cares for her students, even more than herself.

Seiko Shinohara

Age 16 Seiko is an extremely cheerful and energetic girl who enjoys playing around with her friends. She often comes across as immature and crass and makes over-the-top outbursts that surprise everyone around her, but her friends are able to put up with it. She generally tries to maintain this personality even while trapped inside Heavenly Host, though the grim reality of their situation nearly causes her to suffer from an emotional breakdown several times. She is not without a responsible side, however, which she developed after her mother disappeared two years ago in order to support her father and care for her three younger siblings. She easily becomes upset whenever anyone takes her feelings towards her mother's disappearance lightly. In the game, it is described that she has a perverted side. Ayumi Relationships

Relationships Ayumi is shown on the outside to be one that can make friends and fit in, this suits for a way to hide her real feelings of being one who doubts herself and never going forward, making sure everyone else is happy and not let her hold them back. Hinoe Shinozaki Hinoe is Ayumi's big sister. Ayumi really loves her sister, seeing her as a mentor and protector at the same time. It always irritated her how their parents talk about Hinoe's choice in life. She is the one Ayumi trusts the most, knowing she can always rely on her support, comfort, and guidance. The two often sit side by side on Hinoe’s bed, and talk about regular and paranormal things for long periods of time. Satoshi Mochida Ayumi has a crush on Satoshi, believing him to be the only boy who would remain faithful (this due to her distrust of men and, to a lesser extent, Yoshiki Kishinuma). Because of this, Satoshi is her greatest weakness. Yoshiki Kishinuma During the series, Ayumi is shown to look at Yoshiki as the delinquent most others see him as she has shown time and time again that she would prefer Satoshi over him any day. Ayumi is also shown to be very oblivious to the feelings Yoshiki has for her, always with Satoshi on her mind. She always sees his actions as self-gains and not always as savings or sacrifices he makes for her. She only saved him from the gym teacher for she was just doing a kind action, while Yoshiki saw it as a sign that kept him on the right path. Yoshiki is also shown not to act on opportunities that can show that he cares for Ayumi and she just moves on from when he does little things. Naomi Nakashima Her relationship with Naomi prior to entering Heavenly Host was friendly, with a small amount of jealousy and rivalry. Beneath the surface she always considered Naomi as her rival, knowing her affection for Satoshi, without Naomi knowing about Ayumi's feelings. She was jealous of Naomi's figure, especially to her breast size, fearing Satoshi doesn't like Ayumi's

Satoshi has the most amount of people that are implied to have crushes on him or show interest in him, with a total of 4 people. These people are: Naomi, Ayumi, Kuon, who all have have crushes and feelings for him, Yuka, who loves Satoshi more than just a brother.

Yoshiki relationships

Ayumi Shinozaki Yoshiki first met Ayumi after she stopped him from punching Mikio Tsubota, thus sparing him from being expelled. Since then, he has grown strong romantic feelings for her, seeing her as the only person at school who cares about him. Ayumi herself is completely oblivious to this and still seems to see him as a delinquent. Upon arriving in Heavenly Host, he vows to protect her no matter what happens. Satoshi Mochida Yoshiki and Satoshi appear to have a close friendship, shown by the two of them calling each other by their first names. Despite Satoshi being the person of Ayumi's affections, Yoshiki doesn't let this get in the way of their friendship. They also are shown to spend time with each other at school doing different events from the different activities at the Cultural Festival to having lunch on the roof. Miki Kishinuma While the rest of his family has disowned Yoshiki, his younger sister Miki still cares for him and visits him often. She often cooks for him and sends him tea, and can tell when Yoshiki has been skipping his meals. Mayu Suzumoto Yoshiki and Mayu seem to be good friends.

Sakutaro Morishige relationships

Relationships Sakutaro regards a majority of his classmates with indifference and finds socializing with most people to be more trouble than what it's worth. Mayu Suzumoto Sakutaro first met Mayu in the theater club in middle school, assuming her to be a stereotypical popular girl. Later on, he was proven wrong and grew to deeply care for her. Mayu is the only person who he lets give him a nickname, "Shig," indicating their close relationship. Sakutaro claims that he regards Mayu as a younger sister, and assumed Mayu regarded him as a brother. In truth, it is hinted that Mayu harbors romantic feelings for Sakutaro, though he does not realize it. He also feels some romantic feelings to her.

Naomi Nakashima relationships

Relationships Satoshi Mochida Naomi's childhood friend. Satoshi has been in the same class and by her side since middle school. She's usually gets controlling around him, which causes her to butt heads with him quite regularly. But in reality, she's really concerned with his happiness and well being just as Satoshi always concerned about hers. She keeps him close to herself and she finds his meek behavior cute and it seems to arouse her maternal instincts, but his occasionally charismatic moments make her feel safe knowing she can always rely on him. She has feelings for him but she is afraid to confess. She occasionally feels jealous of the other girls around Satoshi. She regularly talks about him to her mother clarifying in her mother's eye her feelings for him. Seiko Shinohara Naomi's best friend. The two live close to each other and walk to school every day together. Both of them lost one of their parents, due to this both of them can relate to each other. Usually, they're spending their free time together with shopping and talking about their dreams. Seiko is secretly in love with Naomi, and Seiko gets quite physical sometimes with her by touching her breasts or butt. From an outside observer's point of view, their relationship looks like more than just friendship. However, Naomi sees these situations natural, and nothing more than just fooling around, and she doesn’t see Seiko more than a friend and is unable to reciprocate her feelings. She keeps her close, saying such a friend only occurs once in a lifetime. Yuka Mochida Satoshi's little sister. Naomi first met her on the same day, when she and her friends performed the Sachiko Ever After, before that she didn't know about her existence. Good friends with her.

Relationships Naomi Nakashima Seiko is the best friend and constant companion of Naomi Nakashima, whom she views as a kindred spirit of sorts since they had both lost one of their parents at some point in their lives. The two live next to each other and walk to school every day together, and like to talk about their futures together. As part of her more childish, out-of-control personality, she occasionally likes to fondle with Naomi's breasts and comments on Naomi's butt as flirting, but Naomi is able to put up with it. Her feelings for Naomi are heavily implied to extend beyond mere platonic love to the point of romantic attraction, but she keeps these feelings a secret from Naomi, understanding and even supporting her feelings for Satoshi Mochida. Satoshi Mochida Satoshi and Seiko are shown to be on good terms, being like all the others to put up with her antics. It's common that whenever he and Naomi are together, Seiko is normally not too far away, either to tease them or to observe their relationship grow. Often, Seiko tries to always bring Satoshi up in order to get Naomi to confess her feelings towards him. Ayumi Shinozaki Seiko and Ayumi evidently have some sort of friendship or relationship, though not to the same extent as Seiko's relationship with Naomi and to what degree is subject to speculation. Seiko is the only one of her classmates to call Ayumi by her first name, a sign of some kind of informality and familiarity in Japan. Seiko also interacts with Ayumi a handful of times and the two girls are friendly and polite with one another, albeit mostly through flashback scenes.
