History
Robb Stark, the eldest son of Eddard and Catelyn Stark, began his story as the heir to Winterfell. Following his father's execution by order of Joffrey Baratheon, Robb was proclaimed King in the North by his vassals, restoring a title that had not been used since Torrhen Stark nearly 300 years earlier. Robb proved himself a talented commander, winning several important battles during the War of the Five Kings, aiming to free the North and avenge his father. However, his leadership was complicated when he broke a strategic alliance by marrying Talisa Maegyr instead of a daughter of Walder Frey, leading to betrayal by the Freys and the Boltons. This culminated in the infamous Red Wedding, where Robb, his mother Catelyn, and many of his men were killed under the hospitality of the Freys. His death ended his ambitions for independence for the North and left a profound impact on the Seven Kingdoms.
