Sakura Kasugano

Appearance:

Sakura usually fights wearing her school uniform, a sailor fuku with a short skirt (seifuku) with the collar extended and underneath a red athletic bloomers that covers her underwear. He also wears a pair of "Converse-style" sneakers, a red top under his uniform, red boxing gloves, a yellow bandana tied around his neck, and a white band over his forehead (given by Ryu before the events of the video game Street). Fighter Alpha 2). She also has short brown hair.

Personality:

In many ways, Sakura is very outgoing and respectful in personality, as most of the time she is shown to be happy, energetic, cheerful, positive, hardworking, and focused on combat. She has a noble spirit and a very determined attitude, whether it be in studies or martial arts training. She views Ryu as an idol and teacher, rather than an adversary, as she always watched him fight and reflects his philosophies in battle on herself. Although her techniques may seem somewhat "rustic" compared to Ryu and Ken, she manages to balance her schoolwork with her training in hopes of being accepted as a student by Ryu and proving herself by fighting worthy opponents. In a fair fight, Sakura is a very patient and disciplined warrior. She is the embodiment of innocence, and is acknowledged by many fighters to have great potential that could match Ryu and Ken in strength when she reaches adulthood.

Rivals schools:

Chronologically, Sakura first appeared in the video game Rival Schools: United by Fate, where she had begun participating in street fighting after seeing Ryu win the first World Warrior tournament. Sakura became involved in several adventures at her school and several others in Aohura City. In these battles, she realized how much it meant to her to protect the things she cared about. She has a friend named Kei Chitose who attends the same high school and sometimes accompanies Sakura during her combat "tours."

Street fighter alpha 2:

She was looking for Ryu and wanted him to train her to be a better fighter. She met many interesting people along the way, and eventually she came across Ryu, who was still stressed and under a lot of pressure from the Satsui no Hado that had corrupted him - he told her that he couldn't train her as he himself still had a lot to learn. They exchanged some light sparring blows for a while and as she started to leave, she took a photo of him to remember him by.

Street fighter alpha 3

By the age of 16 she was still fighting and decided to travel the world in search of Ryu. She began her journey in her native Japan and fought against sumo wrestler E. Honda, who mentioned to her that Ryu was headed to places like India and Thailand. She also had her rematch against her rival Karin Kanzuki and although she was ultimately defeated she admitted that Sakura was better and learned that winning wasn't everything in life. From then on travelling with her self-proclaimed sensei, Dan, she met his friend Blanka along the way and they promised that they would have a showdown. She continued her search for Ryu across the world, eventually parting ways with Dan and finding Ryu's friend and rival, Ken. Telling him how much she loved fighting to better herself, and finding inspiration in those words himself, Ken and Sakura eventually found Ryu in Thailand, where he was in fact being brainwashed by M. Bison. Also at that time, Sagat appeared to find the same scene, and while Sagat confronted Ryu, both Ken and Sakura confronted M. Bison. A combination of Sakura's pleadings with Ryu and Sagat's goading finally freed Ryu from the mind control and he defeated M. Bison, temporarily destroying him. He then told Sakura that he was not yet ready to train her and fight a rematch against her, and left, with Sakura watching as he left. It was then that Sakura realized that there was something special about Ryu, but she didn't know what it was.

Street fighter IV:

She returns again in search of Ryu. This time, it is heavily implied that her admiration for Ryu has turned into a full-blown crush. Her victory line against Sagat shows her admitting that she understands his obsession with Ryu, and adding "isn't he just dreamy?". Sometime after the end of the second World Warrior tournament, she confronts Dan about whether he knows anything about where Ryu might be. Dan, not wanting to appear in evidence to her, says that a new tournament is rumored to be about to begin, and that Ken is apparently going to participate, speculating that Ryu will be there as well. Elated, Sakura immediately rushes off to enter the tournament. She, Dan, and Blanka embark on a cruise where she undergoes a grueling and severe self-imposed training regimen. During the tournament, she actively searches for Ryu, eventually finding him in the SIN complex amidst the destruction of the BLECE project. The forces of the conflict knock Sakura unconscious, and she awakens to a triumphant Ryu standing over her. The two escape the SIN building amidst explosions - which were likely caused by Vega - and meet up with Dan and Blanka along the way. After the tournament, Ryu and Sakura exchange farewells as she returns home aboard the cruise ship, realizing that it was love she felt for Ryu. During her ending, a slightly older-looking Sakura is shown walking her dog in an area near Overpass, when she suddenly sees Ryu walking closer.

It is a fast fighting style that relies on attacks using her entire body and adjusted to her size, Sakura can also use QI attacks such as the Hadoken to attack. Sakura does: 500 push-ups, 500 planks, a 10 kilometer run, and 800 sit-ups, in addition to training in the use of attacks such as the Hadoken.
