Bio

Rubble is an English Bulldog pup and the construction pup of the PAW Patrol. His main color is yellow. His truck looks like a bulldozer, modified with drills and other construction tools. In "Pups Get a Rubble", it is revealed that Rubble is the youngest member of the PAW Patrol. In "Pups Save a Toof", he reveals that he has arachnophobia, the fear of spiders. In "Pups Get a Rubble", before Rubble joined the PAW Patrol, he lived on his own, and it was hinted that he was a stray dog, which meant he had no home or family to take care of him. He met Ryder and the PAW Patrol when he was a little puppy after getting himself stuck on a tree branch hanging over the ocean and was rescued by Chase's net. After being fed, Rubble sneaked into Chase's vehicle before he deployed for a mission and later showed his digging skills while freeing Jake from a pile of snow boulders. Ryder later announced that they had found a home for him as the Construction Pup of the PAW Patrol.

Personality

Although he can appear rather tough, Rubble is the complete opposite. He tends to be a bit emotional, and he is very soft for small animals, especially kittens (evidenced in "Pups and the Kitty-tastrophe", among other episodes). He sometimes likes to call small animals cute names like "witty bitty kitty." He loves to laugh and is rather playful and innocent. He also has a big appetite, as seen in "Pups Save the Treats". Rubble also tends to be superstitious as he frequently believes in spooky stuff such as ghosts or monsters and tends to disagree with Ryder's beliefs that they're not real. And most of the time when things are resolved, he would usually make sarcastic comments. Rubble has a comedic side in both PAW Patrol: The Movie and PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie such as being spooked by lightning or not being able to sleep in new places before quickly falling asleep.

Appearance

Rubble is an English Bulldog pup. He has brown fur with a beige belly that also covers most of his face and large chest with beige fur. He has bright brown eyes and a tiny tail that can barely be seen. His right ear is beige and has two brown spots, while his left ear is brown. An often overlooked detail on Rubble's face is that his whisker spots on the sides of his snout are asymmetrical, being that the whisker spots on the right side of his snout are slightly higher than the ones on his left. This detail is only present in the original show. His gear is yellow and includes a yellow hardhat, which is typically used for safety in the construction business. In "PAW Patrol: The Movie", Rubble's standard uniform was given a visual redesign, with his vest being composed of a porous material with metal plating on top. Notably, his helmet received built-in ear protectors and his vest gained additional shoulder armor, while his pup-pack was given extra mass. Much like all of the pups sans Chase, Rubble's movie uniform features sleeves. Much more black is also present on the general design overall.

Equipment and Gadgets

Pup Tag Like all of the PAW Patrol pups, Rubble has his own personalized pup tag with a shape of a wrench symbol on it, which he uses to communicate with Ryder, the Lookout, and the other PAW Patrol pups. When in use, the Pup Tag flashes its light. It also has a special mechanism that allows the pups to make video calls to other PAW Patrol members. In the Rubble & Crew spin-off series, Rubble wears a black collar with a grey symbol of the PAW Patrol's logo, just like the other members of the construction crew. Like the main series, Rubble and the other pups can use their pup tags to contact each other.

Pup Pack Rubble's vest is equipped with a Pup Pack that is activated by a "bark" and transforms in a shovel and also contains a jackhammer. His Mission PAW Pup Pack carries a construction claw for helping move heavy loads, such as suits of armor.

Rescue Knights Pup Pack In Season 8's "Rescue Knights: Quest for the Dragon's Tooth", along with the other pups, Rubble received a new Pup Pack for Rescue Knights rescue missions. It is equipped with a catapult he can use to launch objects.

Rubble and Crew Toolpack In Rubble & Crew, Rubble's toolpack contains a caution tape, a measuring tape, a jackhammer, a screwdriver, claws, a finishing trowel, a wrench, a saw, a hammer and a drill.

Bulldozer Rubble has a yellow bulldozer. It is equipped with a scoop in the front and a drill and crane in the back. The vehicle number is 06. During later missions in the jungle, Rubble's bulldozer is repainted in camouflage colors, sports a wire mesh over the cockpit, and sandbags tied to the top of the treads.

Jet-powered Hoverboard In the Season 3 episode, "Air Pups", unlike the rest of the pups who received flight packs, Rubble was given a hoverboard. On his bark command, the jets on its sides extend out as well as the rocket boosters in the back.

Ultimate Construction Truck When put in charge of an Ultimate Construction rescue by Ryder, Rubble's bulldozer is converted into a much larger bulldozer equipped with all sorts of tools such as a lookout cab, wrecking ball, front shovel, side scoop, and a mini steam roller. With the rest of the PAW Patrol, Rubble utilizes these tools to either clear obstacles in their path or construct things.

Super PAWS Vehicle In the Mighty Pups sub-series, Rubble rides a yellow and black truck with orange and gray highlights and large black wheels that is equipped with a crane.

Jet In "Jet to the Rescue", Rubble rides a yellow and black jet with orange highlights that has two modes: stealth and rescue. When in stealth mode, it can travel the skies without being detected. When in rescue mode, its wings flip over and the large shovel on the front extends out.

Dino Rescue Vehicle In the Dino Rescue sub-series, Rubble rides a Triceratops-shaped bulldozer equipped with a scoop and large wheels for crossing rough terrains.

Motorcycle In the Moto Pups sub-series, Rubble rides a yellow and black motorcycle with orange highlights. The front is equipped with a large convertible shovel that can scoop and push obstacles out of the way.

Adventure City vehicle Rubble's vehicle in Adventure City is an upgraded version of his normal bulldozer, but at a much larger sized with a cement mixer drum on the back. The drum is capable of mixing quick-drying concrete, and has the additional ability of extending a crane arm with a wrecking ball attached.

Rescue Knights Vehicle In the Rescue Knights sub-series, Rubble rides a black and yellow bulldozer that is equipped with an extended wrecking ball spinner on the back and a large scoop on the front.

Big Truck In the Big Truck Pups sub-series, Rubble rides a yellow big truck with black and orange highlights. Its trailer stores an excavator claw, an extendable crane, a giant wrecking ball and a storage unit for construction materials that can be used when deployed.

Hammerhead Vehicle In the Aqua Pups sub-series, Rubble rides a yellow hammerhead shark-shaped sub with black and orange highlights and neon blue lights. It is equipped with an extended drill and bulldozer blade to clear away any obstacles.

Rhino Vehicle In the Jungle Pups sub-series, Rubble rides a bulldozer in the shape of a rhino. It is yellow with black and light gray highlights. The front contains a pair of rhino horns on its scoop that Rubble uses for digging while the back is equipped with a spiky wrecking ball. It is also able to imitate the sounds of an rhino, allowing him to communicate with them.

Rubble & Crew Bulldozer In Rubble & Crew, Rubble's vehicle is also a bulldozer, just like the main series, although the design is nearly similar from the main series. It has a scoop and an excavator arm, which he uses them to lift up heavy supplies and dig.

Mighty Bulldozer In PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie and the Mighty Pups sub-series (Season 10), Rubble rides a yellow and gray bulldozer with black highlights. When powered-up by Rubble's power paws, the vehicle's streaks and wrecking ball glow yellow. It runs on two pairs of treads. It is equipped with a road roller in the front that can smash through any obstacles and a large wrecking ball on the back that Rubble can use to either smash into things or launch objects into the air.

Skills and Abilities

Rubble has superior digging skills. He also has excellent skate and snow boarding abilities and always hopes he is chosen on missions that might involve either skill. Rubble goes down the Lookout slide standing on all four legs and claps his paws twice in his jump off. Rubble is skilled when it comes to construction. He uses his vehicle and pup pack to lead both construction crews. When in his Mighty Pup form, he has super strength, and when he charges up, he can curl into a ball in order to knock things down. In PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie, Rubble retains the superpower of curling up into a wrecking ball.
