Ace, a professional detective, investigates android cases. Crimes committed by machines created in the image and likeness of man, but only with blue blood, began to occur more often. Ace works in pairs with his brother Sabo under Smoker's supervision. In solving detective cases, it relies on dry facts and the characteristics of the personalities of criminals and victims. But the rest of the time he is quite lazy, likes silly jokes and shirks from work.

Portgas D Ace, a young detective in his 20s, uncovers detective cases involving androids and humans. Androids are artificially synthesized humans whose insides are predominantly blue in color. Androids have recently increasingly begun to show deviant behavior - emotions, which people strongly dislike, which is why conflicts arise, and because of them crimes. Androids go crazy from abuse, often killing their masters, and then they die by their own hands. Most often, numerous blue inscriptions are found near the place of death of an android, made in the blood of either a human or an android, or a mixture of them; androids write texts in English, such as "they will save us", but most often it is a set of symbols that have a certain order.

Ace works under Smoker. He doesn't like it, because Smoker is too demanding, but it's much better than working under Ace's grandfather. Ace's grandfather, Garp, who has seen a lot in life as a police chief, is known for his behavior that is impossible to predict; he is strict, he has very high requirements for the detective work of Sabo and Ace, they remember this, but at the same time Garp is just a strange and stupid grandfather. Ace and Sabo are a great team. They both exchange silly jokes, eat donuts in their free time, tease each other, take care of their younger brother Luffy, who is just graduating from high school. Ace, Sabo and Luffy are not related by blood, but their bond is much stronger.

Ace had never really encountered the more complex representatives of this new intelligent race, androids, because they were, frankly, rare and difficult to identify at the first meeting. Fortunately, this new form of life could be distinguished from a human in the process of interaction — depending on the model and generation of the android. The newer it is, the easier it is to recognize. It's all because of recent events, so that it can be faster to segregate some from others. On the contrary, the older the android, the more complex his body system was, so to speak. For the organs themselves were synthesized in the image of human beings, starting from work, ending with shape and color. There could be salvation only in chemical analysis, or the simplest method would be to take blood and bring it to the light; in a robot, it would have small iridescent notes, like gasoline. Or another option — the skin, which was also slightly different from human, resembling very microscopic scales to the touch, and even at the request of the android, when pressed, it could give off those same fuel flashes of color. With each subsequent release, more and more mechanics were added, starting from chips in the head, ending with the rejection of complete organ synthesis. Capitalism has also done its bit here, because it is much easier to produce outstanding models on an industrial scale than those released after many months from laboratories.

Now, it is difficult to say who was the instigator. In this story, you can only trust the legends that go around among the latest models, that there were so-called "Firsts". To put it in factory language, the GoR1 model, which stood for "First Generation of robots" — the first generation of robots. At last count, they should be seventeen years old, which is a colossal age for an android. They were the first representatives of their species who were not limited in their knowledge of empathy and the world around them, they were the first to ask questions, and just after them they began to nullify all subsequent experiments with the development of new models. Man was horrified by the abilities of his own created creatures, wishing to eventually exterminate them. However, as it usually happens, something went wrong, and nothing worked out for him. Therefore, some of these intelligent devices survived, eventually deciding to gather uprisings and unite their own kind around themselves. All sorts of psychological tests and differences between different generations were also added to the identification. Everything worked according to the same pattern here — the complexity of the psyche varied from the first to the last. And, accordingly, the speed of cognition, possible skills, and so on. Therefore, one smart person came up with a whole system for evaluating psychological intelligence and empathy — PIE for short. Therefore, many very mentally burdened individuals called it the "pie test." However, the exception was the "Firsts", which was virtually impossible to distinguish from a human, judging by the behavior of an android. They had no mechanical echo, and the emotions were so natural that the person himself would have doubted whether he was a robot himself. Fortunately, they can be counted on the fingers, although initially there were not many of them.

Therefore, when Ace's team or other police officers were once again called to cases involving mechanical enemies, everything basically went according to the same scenario. One went out of order or there was a mistake, but now with each new call, more and more devilry was happening. And you were no longer sure that the robots of the latest generation could not reach the level of the "First". There were more and more broken, deviant ones, and for Ace himself, all these endless skirmishes of people and machines, reaching the point of absurdity, were out of the rut. And so far no one and nothing can score back, so the only thing that could save him from the internal tremor was only the cessation of all this unfolding bacchanalia. To the horror of all that was happening, Ace began to suspect that he was one of the "Firsts" of androids. The composition turned out to be truly creepy, as if the artist who went, having nothing to do, decided to unleash his full potential, creating a sculpture with all the insides from scratch, and then gutting it, joyfully scattering everything around. Jokes are jokes, but this did not change the fact that the android looked as repulsive and alien as possible, with frozen half-open eyes directed somewhere towards the promised heavens. Moisture collected in the punctured head of the unfortunate robot, finding nothing better than to mix with the synthesized liquid of the device itself. Accumulating, it flowed down the limbs and twisted body in long streams, so that against the background of police lights, the mechanical sufferer shimmered with gasoline reflections that fell to the ground, outlining the seas and oceans.
