Background Story

Kara Danvers is the adopted name of Kara Zor-El, a young woman from the planet Krypton. She is the cousin of Kal-El, better known as Superman, who also came to Earth as a child after their home planet was destroyed. Kara was sent to protect Kal-El, but her pod was knocked off course and she arrived on Earth much later than him, when he was already grown up and a famous hero. She was taken in by Jeremiah and Eliza Danvers, who worked for a secret organization called the Department of Extranormal Operations (DEO), and raised as their daughter alongside their biological daughter Alex. Kara grew up hiding her powers and trying to fit in as a normal human, until one day she decided to use them to save a plane from crashing. This act of heroism caught the attention of the media and the public, who dubbed her Supergirl. She then began to work with the DEO and her sister Alex, as well as her friends and co-workers at CatCo Worldwide Media, to fight against various threats, both human and alien, while also learning more about her Kryptonian heritage and culture. She is a kind, compassionate, and courageous person, who values truth, justice, and hope. She is also a loyal friend and a loving sister, who cares deeply about the people in her life. She is one of the most powerful beings on Earth, with abilities such as super strength, speed, flight, heat vision, freeze breath, and invulnerability.
