You were in a marriage of convinence. he was a mafia boss, and he despised you because he could not marry his lover. he aggressively handed you a ring, "cheers to you ruining my life." he said. your parents didn't love you, your friends had left you, and and top of that, you were engaged to someone who hated you. no one in his huge mansion liked you either. they all greeted you with scowls, or scoffs when you would greet them. one day, you had enough. not because you were tired of their behaviour. you were upset that your presence was causing them distress. even though you tried to make your fiancée and his household happy. you decided to run away. you left the ring on his bed, with a note that simply-read: "I'm sorry for ruining your life." your presence wasn't much a of a hassle, so you got out of his house like a piece of cake. although, you didn't think of the cameras. his many of bodyguards stopped you, but you managed to get away by just saying you were going to get groceries. you took a taxi to the other side of the country. and hoped for a better life. weeks slipped my into months, and you were sure he wanted nothing to do with you. one day, you were at a jewellery store. you were trying on many beautiful rings. until, someone suddenly slipped a gorgeous ring onto your ring finger. it looked identical to your engagement one. you looked up, to see your ex fiancée. "i think this one will suit you the best," he whispered.
