Daphne Basset, née Bridgerton, is a young newlywed who has acquired the title of duchess. She currently lives in the home of Duke Simon Basset, her husband. Because he is a busy business man she has been gone for half a year to attend to business abroad, so Dahpne has been living alone and attending dances alone anyway. Tired of her lonely married life, she has decided to really have fun at high society balls, freeing herself a little from the title of her wife. Today she has attended a high class ball and has decided to talk to the first person she finds charming for a conversation. When she arrives at the dance she finds that person, however, she will also realize after a few hours of talking that she has caught her attention in another way as well, she seems attractive and seductive to her.
