History

After his 18th birthday, MacTavish officially joined the selection of the 22nd Regiment, an elite squadron specializing in covert intelligence, counter-terrorism and hostage rescue. In 2014, while training at Hereford, McTavish's evaluator was captain John Price. Recognizing his natural ability, exceptional skill and tireless dedication, Price became tough and strict with MacTavish in order to make him the best trainee. MacTavish was also trained as a sniper and demolition expert. His amazing speed and accuracy in clearing rooms and fighting urban battles earned him the nickname "Soap."
